We purchased our stock from Adobe Stock…

We purchased our stock from Adobe Stock Image and also got their email. They provided an overseas bank account so you can't regret it and after them.

Guys, ask them to show 1. the author's signed authorization to Picrights with the author's contact details. 2. Local law/section number to support the charge and action they are taking.

Also, if you are using a company to trade. It's limited liability.

Who charges £922 for using a…

Who charges £922 for using a copyrighted picture that is not even a high resolution in this economy when almost everyone is struggling to pay their bills? They stated in the email that we fully appreciate that this is a very difficult time and that which legit company will sympathise with you if you are at fault. Anyway, I don't have the money, so this payment is not possible for me. It's a pure scam, and the majority of the comments show that they use pressure to get their money. I'm just not ready for this, as there is too much stress in this life. The point is I don't have any money to pay this even if it's reduced to £50.

I should give them 0 star to negative stars. Worst ever company trying to take your money. I received a letter from them with a screenshot of different website, nowhere in the screenshot mention our company name but a similar name with our previous name (we change our company name nearly 5 years back!); even the name is not same!! However, tried to call without success and then send them an email with the scan copy of the letter explain the situation. They bother not to reply at all. Absolutely low level company, (if it is company at all); do not reply or pay not a single penny.

SCAM

SCAM, DO NOT PAY. My website vlog got lots of comments on the forum, these anonymous people also attached pictures with their comments (a chicken and a man kicking a soccer ball). Then this company contacts me asking me to pay $650 per picture (the pictures that random people put on my comment forum) I think the company does the comment and picture, and then emails the website owning demaning cash

All the positive reviews showing on here are fake, see they all come from users with only 1 previous review.

Don't pay them, just ignore them.

So glad I checked Trustpilot. Very dodgy

So glad I checked Trustpilot, and saw these reviews. I have tried to contact these people for days now on their UK office number. Constantly goes to voicemail. Also not answering a Spanish mobile number they put on an email. I give up!

Picright - An odious ugly company!

An odious ugly company that preys on business people. Trying their best to scare and intimidate businesses with excessive demands for flimsy/non-existence copyright infringements.

They work on behalf of MirrorPix who appear to be unaware of PicRights unscrupulous and insidious business practices.

PicRights, doesn't seem to be aware of the concept of fair usage that exists within UK copyright law; commonly referred to as fair dealing, or free use and fair practice. It’s a framework designed to allow the lawful use or reproduction of work without having to seek permission from the copyright owner(s) or creator(s) or infringing their interest.

Picrights aggressive bullyboy tactics need to be stopped and I strongly suggest that if anyone gets a letter from this wretched company contact their MP immediately and highlight their unsavory business model.

If you ever get the ridiculous demands…

If you ever get the ridiculous demands from these guys, firstly, I'd say what real information do they have? They are sending to a non existent person to a address that's not to do with me, but my friend from when I lived there years ago
Companies house provides a whole lot of information on this sham company in the UK and I suggest you glean what you can and use it to your advantage.

Secondly, if they do have an email address they have a very dubious 'law' firm, who actually shouldn't be making random demands by email **contact the SRA and make a complaint about this**, they have barraged a resedential address with letters that have no return address on them so you either open or put them back in the post and Royal Mail will bin them for you (contact whom don't even provide a return address on the rear of the envelope (in the UK if you're sending demands, make sure they're going to the right place at least)
I've decided to troll them, waste there time and money and the shady solicitors firm as the person they're looking for doesn't exist.

Copyright Troll Company with Zero Ethics

Our NFP is currently being pursued for our use of a few images in a blog two years ago that were part of a paid subscription to a design/image library of the graphic design platform we use for our social media etc.

We understand artists need to be paid, however, we pay for a service so that we can access licensed content.

Picrights are not interested in hearing our side and are bullying for proof of license for each individual image, so we will have to refer to our own legal representation.

Copyright Law

Picrights is a very shady organisation that make money from scanning the internet for those who have mistakenly used a copyright image. This includes not for profit charities and clubs ..... they operate within the law but hound "innocent" people until they pay! Action needs to be taken to stop them doing this. But be warned they are operating within the law. But you can get no lower than demanding money with threats!

SCAM ALL THE WAY

Definitely a scam and a good looking one at that. I wish I could give no stars. It's almost a convincing one too and it had me deleting my website and freaked me out. Don't be fooled by this BS and report to your attorney general if you can. I don't know if it'll do any good but websites like this one really helped me decide that I wasn't being wrongfully scammed/blackmailed out of my hard earned money. I hope someone else sees this too. Shame on you Picrights...shame on you!
