Pictory is a very well-designed…

Pictory is a very well-designed platform for AI-powered video creation. The tools are intuitive, the interface is clean, and the workflow is easy to understand even for beginners.
Although I subscribed expecting a specific feature that was not part of the platform, the Pictory support team surprised me in a very positive way. I reached out explaining my situation and they responded quickly, with professionalism and empathy. They offered me a courtesy refund even though refunds are not usually provided for subscriptions.

This level of customer service demonstrates transparency, respect for the user, and a genuine focus on customer satisfaction.
Even though I am not currently using the service, I feel confident recommending Pictory as a trustworthy and customer-centric company.

I recently contacted customer service…

I recently contacted customer service regarding a billing issue on my annual subscription, and I was incredibly impressed with the support I received. The team quickly helped me get the credit applied to my invoice, and they handled everything with professionalism and efficiency.
On top of that, they offered me an amazing Black Friday deal that made my renewal even better value. It really showed they care about their customers. I am very happy with the service and recommend them.

Auto-renewal is deceptive and misleading...lawsuit?

I would give the platform's functionality 3 stars: it works well, although their Eleven Labs voices aren't great and the software glitches. My main issue is that they don't send renewal reminder emails. My yearly plan renewed for $468 without any heads-up. My situation was made even more frustrating because I hadn't used Pictory in several months. I searched spam, junk, everything - no email reminder from the company. It's proper practice to provide a renewal reminder - it's mandated in California.

Also, the cancelation terms are misleading - I was unaware you could pause the subscription. The option is not initially presented in the cancellation workflow. Instead, the UI shows a message saying that cancelling means you'll lose everything (projects), which makes it confusing. You have to keep proceeding in the workflow in order to get the option to pause. Other companies have been sued for deceptive practices like this, and California is strict about it. It's a pretty easy setup for a lawsuit especially if other users have had similar issues.

I tried to speak with a live agent about this but could only create a support ticket. Meanwhile, I'm $468 in the hole. I wish I had set my own reminder, but again, most other companies give you a heads up, especially for large renewals like these.

Happy to take your money, impossible to contact to resolve the issue

Pictory have just charged me £359 for an annual plan that I did not request - I've been paying monthly so I'm not sure how this happened. I am trying to get through to their Customer Success team to arrange a refund, but can't get past their AI chatbot. I'm trying to get my money back through my bank.
Don't sign up for this service - check out alternative AI to video platforms instead.

You'll be getting spam for the rest of your life!

As for the platform..... very outdated, the model just picks a random keyword out of any given sentence, relevant or not, and pulls a picture of that word.
Great if youre 6 yrears old.... otherwise... not much use. EDIT...DESPITE CLAIMS TO THE CONTRARY, UNSUBSCRIBING FROM EMAILS HAS ZERO EFFECT....YOU STILL GET THEM, RELENTLESSLY.

extremely disappointing

My experience with Pictory.ai has been extremely disappointing. There was no email, no reminder, and no notification before the subscription renewal, so the charge came completely unexpected. I did not use the service at all.

Canceling the subscription is unnecessarily complicated. You are forced to deal with a very poor AI chatbot that struggles with basic tasks like cancellation or refund requests. There is no simple, direct way to cancel.

On top of that, I cannot find any invoice for the recent charge — not in my dashboard, not by email. Instead, you are pushed to contact support again just to get something as basic as an invoice.

Overall, a very frustrating and customer-unfriendly experience. Not recommended.

I paid for a full yearly subscription, but after generating only 20 minutes of videos, I received a message saying my quota for premium voiceovers was used up and that I needed to top up — even though my plan clearly states I should have 60 minutes of premium voiceover included.

I couldn’t even listen to the voiceover on videos I had already generated before the message appeared.

I contacted support, and after five days they finally replied, only to tell me that every time you regenerate a voice, it deducts from your quota. What about the previously generated videos? Why can’t I listen to them, even though they were already part of the quota I paid for. No answer.

My videos ended up being over a week delayed, so I thought I would wait for the new cycle. My subscription started on the 20th, so logically the new cycle should start on the 20th as well. But apparently, their cycle renews on the 1st of the month, not when you actually begin your subscription.

I don’t have time to wait another 10 days. I contacted support again to ask how I can top up the premium voice minutes — no reply. If I try to top up myself, the system forces me to pay for another full year for top up (almost $90) on top of the amount I already paid, even though I have only used the service for two weeks.

Then, when I tried to cancel my subscription, I was met with a bot informing me that if I cancel, all my videos will be permanently deleted.

Overall terrible experience, and very poor customer service.
