While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Full of AI slop. What's the point of that?? Stock banks like this should be where people can go to know they're getting real images, footage and illustrations, any selfish, lazy pants-smear can have... See more

If you want to find content, it's great. If you are a content creator, it kinda sucks that they have to manually review the stuff. The guy who handles music took over a week to go through it cause he... See more

As of my most recent knowledge update…

As of my most recent knowledge update in September 2021, Pixabay is largely a site for sharing and downloading free photographs and films; unlike some other platforms, it lacks an integrated review or rating system for specific photos or videos. Instead, Pixabay depends on user comments and likes for input.

If Pixabay has added a review tool after my previous update, you can post a review by following these general instructions:

Log In: Make sure your Pixabay account is active and logged in.

Locate the picture or video: Use the search bar to look up the photo or video you wish to watch.

To view the image or video, click: Select the picture or video's thumbnail by clicking.

What's not to love about this website

What's not to love about this website - excellent diverse range of images for all for use. Today I discovered the beautiful illustration of Jesus, Mary and Joseph with brown skins - which just goes to show that you are not whitecentric - what a blessing it is to be able to use multi-ethnic images.

Useful website

It’s one of the most well-known websites that provide you royalty-free images. It’s very useful and there are various images to use freely.

They will screw you

They say feel free to use, no need to credit them, but they immediately and automatically launch copyright claims, even WITH accreditation. Screw this service... Never again!

Pixabay is Bad NEWS

I see that most People reviewing Pixabay are the artists themselves. Apparently, they are trying to get people to come and donate to them. Also it has become porn.
OK, this is my story.
I am a Graphic Artist. I was one of the top illustrators on Pixabay. Canva purchased a website where I have approximately 11,000 images where people can download and pay me donations (I receive around $50-300 a day). I have been a member since 2017. Usage of my images as of Jan. 2019 is to add more graphics and text for use. Canva purchased Pixabay in 2019 but when they became very popular in the US, around 2021, they started using our images to give to their website users without asking the artist's permission. They never notified the users in any way. I found my 11,000 of my images this year of 2022 on Canva. I tried to contact Canva via email and they told Pixabay that I was harassing them. I told Pixabay that I would pursue any action I could take legally and they warned me they would inactivate my account. As of May 25, 2002, they deactivate my account without contacting me or taking all my images down. Perhaps what they are doing is legal, but morally they are wrong. They are charging people to use my images without my consent and they are making money off my artwork which many I painstakingly drew. This is a terrible way to treat a small business. So BOYCOTT PIXABAY AND CANVA.

I don’t work for Pixabay in the legal…

I don’t work for Pixabay in the legal sense of the word. I upload content onto there and also use the content as an end user so I’m technically eligible to be reviewing them. I’ve been uploading for approximately 2 years and most of the content is accepted based on hard guidelines that are fair and keep content of an acceptable quality for end users.
It is so useful for a diverse range of users including high-school, uni/college students and small businesses. Even large corps have been said to visit the Site and be bedazzled by the quality of the content.
It is very equitable and allows users to have democracy in most areas. Equipped with a forum, an FAQ and a responsive email contact, you can be be sure Pixabay have what you require for your needs and they are always growing.

The real negatives of contributing to the site is some people and rogue site administrators do not read or heed the Terms of Service and end up getting in the hot water and have disgruntled contributors seeking justice. Read the fine print and understand before you use and if in doubt ask.

Search on the site search bar to find my work if you are interested.
