Places for People provides excellent, compassionate supported living accommodation. The staff are incredibly helpful, polite, and always willing to go the extra mile for residents. When I was struggling heavily with my mental health, the support team created a safe and understanding environment. I am particularly grateful to the cleaner, who noticed I was having a hard time and took the time to help me fill out an important form. This level of care shows that everyone in the company truly cares about the well-being of the residents. I highly recommend Places for People to anyone needing a supportive, kind, and reliable place to live.
Have been a tenant for 3 years and have been tackling a severe rat infestation since day 1. Pfp was fully aware of the issue prior to my arrival however they mentioned nothing. Since then I have tried to work with pfp to resolve the issue which stems from excessive waste in a communal area they are legally responsible for and although the infestation has now cost myself and my family over £37.000 worth of damages or costs, the loss of two vehicles and severe health issues related to dead rats etc over the past few years, pfp still refuses to take adequate or any action and my housing manager refuses to speak to myself or my neighbours in regards to the issues even going as far as accusing me and my neighbours of lying or making up the infestation even though we have video evidence of rats doing damage, proof of extreme costs etc. pfp are definitely the worst housing association I have ever dealt with and will not help in relation to anything. The houses are not maintained and are offered in a dangerous condition, mainly damp or with severe wiring, electrical issues and although they will not fix the issues, they will also not give you permission to get these dangerous problems resolved yourself. If you have kids, value your health or don't wish to share your bedroom with rats, I would strongly advise that you steer clear of pfp Preston. If pfp would actually speak to Thier tenants I would not feel the need to create this review. I have taken all steps available prior to this review including making complaints etc, however these complaints were dealt with by the exact people who I complained about and although I supplied video evidence of my housing manager being aggressive and refusing to acknowledge dead rats or excessive dog mess and rubbish literally at her feet, still no action has been taken and still my housing manager won't reply to any requests for contact. I have also messaged the CEO on many occasions however this has also not resolved anything and the problem still persists 3 years after 1st complaint.

Absolutely disgusting service waited 1 hour 35 minutes to speak to someone about a fence repair supposed to be completed today and they cancelled it I had to go to hospital urgent appointment thought Common decency to let them know I would leave the bavk gate open only to be told it's not happening today. I've lived here 26 years and the service is absolutely crap. Been waiting since March and all you get is we need more time absolutely rubbish you can't be bothered. If you don't pay the rent they are straight on your back they answer that phone quickly when it's to do with them getting money out of you. Should be ashamed to be called a housing association. I have been on a cancer pathway probably be dead by the time I get this new fence
It’s a stupid place. We bought membership with my junior, so my card went through and then my son had to wait more than 20 minutes in queue just to confirm that he is with me. I am sure there is a option to set computers and if one of members logged in, other would be as plus one to make sure that he is not on his own.
Places for People has shown a complete lack of accountability and terrible service. Their repair team sent a text message confirming a strict 8am–4pm appointment window less than 24 hours before the visit.
I was forced to use a valuable day of contractually owed statutory annual leave to sit in an empty house and wait for them. They failed to show up, leaving a voicemail at the last minute admitting they deliberately overbooked their team due to "too many other urgent jobs."
When I requested financial redress for the precise value of my wasted day of leave (£104.73), their staff tried to brush it off informally and refused to pay, hiding behind internal policies. I had to threaten legal escalation just to get them to officially log this as a formal Stage 1 Complaint.
This is part of a wider pattern of systemic neglect at this property. We have previously been left without heating and hot water for 3 to 4 days during a boiler failure, and faced similar booking chaos at the very start of our tenancy that left us feeling completely abandoned. They expect tenants to pay rent on time but show zero respect for our time, our jobs, or our well-being. I have now forced an official Stage 1 Complaint (Target Deadline: 15/07/2026).
If the value of my lost leave is not reimbursed, this entire case file, the text logs, and the voicemail will be handed directly to the Housing Ombudsman. Unacceptable service.

Absolutely disgraceful. I moved into a property back in September 2023 following a mutual exchange, raised repairs done stage 1 & 2 complaints nothing to this day has been upheld following Maladministration. They admitted the exchanged should never of been accepted and now I’m left with dealing with the problems! Nearly 2 years on and now lying on paperwork ect absolutely disgraceful. They won’t resolve anything until someone gets seriously hurt or ill. Wish I never done the exchange the affect it’s having on my health and mental health. Would not recommend to anyone. They don’t care about their tenants as much as the preacher they do.

Had the delight of meeting a very helpful chap at Echo court, Harrow. The caretaker for the building was very helpful and down to earth and made our day much more pleasant. The block was all very clean and tidy, thank you!

Dreadful I wanted to know exactly what I was paying for I did a little research a nd emailed all of this to castle rock edinvar they failed to respond within there estimated time frame so I emailed and emailed again with more information I was basically threatened that my email address would probably get blocked all because I wanted clarification and transparency . This is no way to treat your customers that pay everything on time each month and is not in debt to you. Shocking telephone service I waited nearly an hour just to talk to someone at Castle Rock edinvar. Clearly castle rock edinvar do not like there tenants asking questions and tenants that have a brain I was brought up to questions to which I do a lot.

Disgrace of a company, all they do for damp issues is wash it away then spray Polycell blocker on and three minutes later they have gone, Every repair I have had done they have made matters worse and will have to come back after another endless wait, Obviously very poor management and the contractors they hire surely cannot have qualifcations in their trade, Esculated my complaint but all you get is false apologies from staff with their fingers up their A..e, that is not being harsh. Iwould also like to know what the local housing Manager is actually paid for as she does not have any power over anything.

jaffa tape on a dripping pipe? Sticky foam holding a ceiling up, shame on you all. Mould so bad you can lift it off the wall in long strips, yes it was reported, but still not sorted. Awaabs law : immediate repairs 5 days, further works 12 weeks, try 12 months! But do they actually do anything right but take your money , no, they dont even act on dangerous complaints for disabled people, no care at all! I would never recommend even to someone I dont like!

A couple years ago I would have said they was great now I’ve never seen anything like it ! You take time off work to sit in for repair man to come only to get it cancelled I’ve waited nearly 2 months for a gas repair had no heating or hot water as they both have to be on together cos the boilers are that ancient !

Absolutely awful, in reference to their woeful complaints team and their garden team! I think they’re trying to annoy me deliberately now! Awful

After almost an hour of waiting for an answer phoning Hay Avenue due to a faulty window that wouldn't close. I spoke to Sheila who was very helpful. 2 hours 40 minutes later Rian arrived, He was very polite and helpful and did an excellent job. Thank you again to both SHEILA and RIAN / RYAN. What a difference from previous experiences that leave me waiting for months or forgetting about me altogether.

Not what I had expected and limited overall . interviewed but limited as I assumed it was for a part time position but actual vacancy was for casual hours or as and when needed , which was effectively zero-hours which doesn't suit anyone. Bizarre way to go about recruitment and misleading . waste of time
