I currently go to the Newark, De location; and man oh man this place is awful.

First, nothing ever works! 9/16 tvs are broke, you are fighting for a treadmill bc almost 1/2 of them dont turn on, tears in multiple seats so you cant adequately clean/disinfect them, 2 of the legs stations have broken cables, the other day when it started raining there is now a leak in the ceiling, the cooler for the water fountain isnt working so youre just drinking hot water, frayed/torn ropes, cracks in the mirrors, 50% if the portable workout mats have huge tears in them, sometimes the location closes earlier than posted hours leaving just handwritten notes on the door, etc. I could go on and on.

The worst part... the AC HAS BEEN BROKE FOR ALMOST A WEEK!!! In the middle of the summer. It hot so hot in there today I almost passed out, and i could actually squeeze the sweat out if my shirt. You ask the desk when it will be fixed... "I dunno". Do you have a contact for the club/franchise manager.... "ummmm im not sure, im gonna have to ask someone". So all they are doing is keeping the front/back doors open so you are not only dealing with the heat, but the damn flies as well.

I have filed 2 complaints now on their site, and no ones responding so the next stop is speaking with Corporate. Im gonna try the Christiana, De location as that one looks better managed. However, If nothing good comes out of that im just gonna go somewhere else even if they have the best price. Not always worth it, but I know im not paying $15/month for busted equipment bc your too lazy to fix it; which is partially what our dues are supposed to be paying for.

This company purposely makes it insanely hard to cancel your membership. I had mine charging me for 2 years straight because of this. Absolutely predatory and parasitic. When I was finally able to cancel, I gave that as my reason and the employee wrote."new gym" as my reason for leaving. Never any refund for the 2 years of wasted money. Standard american corporation over here! 0/10

I cancelled my membership and they still charged me. They tacked on $15 the 2nd time they tried with no warning, explanation or itemized receipt. They say it's because my annual renewal was coming.But I had no warning, no idea ofthat and did not have a copy of my contract, because it's in the app that I don't have access to, since i'm not a member. Very dirty business practice to get your money even when you dont use the service.

Some locations are bigger with more modern equipment. The bathrooms are always clean. The HydraMassage beds need to be updated. During the summer since teenagers are allowed please give them a time range ex:10a to 2p so they dont hog all machines and waste time.

I go to the Pembroke Pines location and love how big and updated it is. My biggest complaint is when Planet Fitness offers free memberships to teens during the summer. I understand wanting to encourage young people to work out, but it becomes very difficult for paying members to use the equipment because many of the machines are occupied for long periods.

It would be much more fair if there were designated hours for the free teen program or if Planet Fitness expanded the program in a way that doesn’t negatively impact paying members. During the summer, it honestly makes me consider joining another gym, and many people I know who work out here feel the same way.

I really enjoy this location, but I hope Planet Fitness considers a better balance between supporting the community and taking care of its paying members.

DO NOT SIGN UP........I cancelled my membership with them over a year ago and I am still being charged. I called again and they cannot locate my account... I have been charged hundreds of dollars for a membership that I do not have.

Unless you want to pay for a membership forever that you cannot use. DON'T SIGN UP!

The management at this location needs to be investigated immediately. Her name is ABIGAIL BLOSS.

On June 30, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM at the 250 Life Ln, Lexington, KY location, a woman who identified herself as the manager got extremely close to my face, yelled at me, cursed at me, and behaved in a way that made me feel as though she was about to physically fight me. This occurred in the middle of the gym in front of other members.

She made unprofessional remarks including “ya mama” and “I don’t care, I’m still getting paid,” along with other disrespectful comments. She was not wearing Planet Fitness clothing, so I am unsure whether she was officially on duty, but she repeatedly stated that she was the manager.

This behavior is completely unacceptable for anyone representing Planet Fitness. Regardless of the circumstances, no employee or manager should yell at, curse at, intimidate, or aggressively confront a member.

If corporate reviews this incident, they should identify the individual who was acting as manager at that time and investigate using security camera footage and witness statements.

I will be filing a formal complaint with Planet Fitness corporate. I hope this incident is taken seriously so that no other member has to experience this kind of treatment.

UPDATE (July 1st 2026): I’ve tried multiple times to contact the home club itself (250 life ln lex ky) and the managers refuse to speak to me on the phone. They’ve also blocked multiple numbers I’ve called from. They are not willing to help or inform me on how I can file a formal complaint. They also refused to give me the full name of the general and regional managers. But I do know that their names are Reina and Porsha. I’ve been told they will contact me today so we shall see.

UPDATE (July 2nd 2026): I finally was able to speak with REINA the general manager. I was told corporate already handled it, that IM BANNED from all 3 location, and nothing is going to happen to ABIGAIL BLOSS. She was “on call” but in workout clothes and working out “on call” because apparently they can workout “on call” and still be a manager on their lunch breaks whenever they want. That’s what I got out of that conversation. Mind you, I’ve only been a member at PF for only about a MONTH!! I’ve never been to PF before in my life, I don’t know their policy’s, rules or regulations, I am a NEW member. And within a month I’m banned from all 3 locations😂 I can’t even imagine how badly they’ve treated their other members if this is how badly they treat a member who’s only been there for ONE MONTH!

This is a very unfortunate situation for PF, because it just shows what type of people they are willing to have on their team representing them and their business. Apparently they have looked into it and they are “just done with the situation” and don’t want to deal with it anymore. They have to “stick up for their employees” of course, so it doesn’t look bad on them and their business. No one from corporate has reached out to me personally, but apparently they have gotten my request and have handled it. I will continue to reach out to corporate and speak to PORSHA the regional manager and whom ever I can get in contact with, because I truly believe that this woman needs to be TERMINATED INDEFINITELY.

All that said to say that I would not recommend this gym, or any of the locations, because ABIGAIL BLOSS works at all 3 locations (life ln, Bryan station, and E Lowry ln). And with her being there I would not feel safe as a member. I would not spend my hard earned money on such an establishment that treats their members this way, and doesn’t have any consequences for their actions. They are very unprofessional, the gym is either super hot or super cold, the bathrooms are dirty, majority of the complaints and one star reviews from other members still stand to this day, parking is difficult, it is very packed, the front desk worker tried to hit on me, this is more so a hookup place rather than a gym, and obviously their management is BS.

I loved this gym for a while until yesterday. I go in and the girl tells me that since the location wasn’t my home gym I, a Black Card member, would have to pay an additional fee to use the gym at this Hackensack location. This is the only location I ever use and the reason it had Hoboken as my home
Gym is because I signed up online and that’s the one it chose. Then she couldn’t help me at all and told me I would need to call or go online so that means I got up, got dressed and then drove all the way over there for nothing. It’s like they either hire these young people who have zero clue what customer service is or the company itself doesn’t know. I am so disgusted and even though I eventually went online to change it, I’m really rethinking if I want to continue going. They also made the gym recently overcrowded by allowing teen to use it during the summer which is also super annoying. I was looking forward to my summer break as a teacher finding a time when the gym is quiet but that’s gone now too.

My wife and I had a terrible experience here a couple of years ago, and unfortunately I'm dealing with similar issues again while using their membership provided to me by my UnitedHealthcare insurance.

There is a reason this compaby being sued.

One of the biggest frustrations is that they would not allow me to switch to a different Planet Fitness location. On top of that, I was charged unexpected fees that were never clearly explained. After reading other reviews, it seems many current and former members have experienced similar overcharging issues.

This company purposely makes it insanely hard to cancel your membership to everyone.

The facility is also not consistently clean, and members are expected to wipe down all equipment after each use, yet the gym itself doesn't always appear to be well maintained.

Overall, my experience has been very disappointing, and I would not recommend this location to anyone based on the rude customer service, over billing practices, and cleanliness.

Free all summer for 14-19 years but I am paying $30 plus annual fee. Gym sounds and looks more like a hugh school. Seriously considering leaving after almost 4 years.

I worked with Brandon at the Stamford, CT location to resolve an issue where the name on the account switched with one of my black card guests. Brandon was very helpful to figure out what was wrong and how to rectify the situation. I had been having issues for a couple of weeks but he put that all o bed for me. Great job brother. I appreciate the help.

I had to sign up at the gym because I was using my insurance and you can’t do it online with insurance. I handed them one of my checks and signed me up. I worked out that day, 2 days later my account was frozen because of late payment! They put my account in wrong. So, went back again, handed them my check and he updated it. My account is still frozen. Got an email today saying my payment was late so I called PF billing company. They fixed it finally, I think, and she processed my payment. Then, after. The payment was made she told me there was a $15 fee because MY PAYMENT WAS LATE!! Whose fault was that. Gotta watch planet fitness hidden fees. I’m fuming. Don’t agree at all with this. Pissed off for $15

We have been allowed to use the massage products with black card membership and on this Sunday 6:21/26, my husband was not allowed to use it. They were so adamant about their rules yet the trash cans were over following with paper towels and the hand sanitizer dispenser was out. Every time I attend it is something. The paper towel dispenser will be out of paper towels and I go ask for a new roll to refill it and they have to do it themselves and can’t leave the front desk alone. And mind you he had left it alone for Quite a long time as he was talking ti his friends that were using the weight machines in front if me as I was using the elliptical machine. He can leave the front desk unattended for that reason and not to do
His job as replacing paper towels. They have employees with bad attitudes. Do not go to the Centreville Westfields VA location.

I've been a Planet Fitness member for quite some time and it's become my go-to gym. I travel frequently, and one of the biggest advantages is that there's almost always a location nearby, which makes it easy to stay consistent with my workouts no matter where I am.

The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are well maintained. The showers are consistently clean, and the overall gym environment is comfortable and inviting.

For the price and convenience, it's hard to beat. If you're looking for a gym that's affordable, clean, and available almost everywhere, I would definitely recommend Planet Fitness.

Well I didn't really want to write, I hoped the problem would fix itself, I currently attend the planet fitness at 2516 airport road, Colorado Springs, Co, we have been without hot water for well over a week, there's a sign that's posted as soon as you walk in stating that. Us as patrons inquired about the situation and were told repetitively that they have notified corporate of the problem and yet we're still without hot water, can someone please help to rectify this situation...thank you for your time..

Planet fitness in Oregon City just got rid of my entire routine. They took out my 12 machines that I used in the circuit and I was a VIP member. The machines are not available like they think they are out on the floor, like for instance, my shoulder machine that I use is all leaned back and it’s not as good a machine. There were always several people on the machines when I was there, and they were getting used just as much as the other machines. Very crummy of them to take out the entire reason that we are going here.
