Good host, but a bit annoying sometimes
I've been pretty happy with play.hosting, but the VPS hosting is sometimes annoying. It has like "micro-downtimes" of a few seconds to a few minutes every now and then, where I then have to connect to the server again to start the program running on there, which is pretty annoying, but else good. Pricing isn't the most appealing, but not much over market.

It's mostly a free Minecraft server service, although its expanding to different hosting services as it keeps growing.
Ultimately, if you are looking for a good public server in Minecraft that you can own and use with friends play.hosting is a solid option.
Yes it will have some caveats, especially in times of overloading capacity, but those are expected and notably worse in other free alternatives.
