This is a real con.
I called them because I had water flowing into my dishwasher and I did not know where it was coming from. I had not used my dishwasher for a couple of weeks and it had built up. They said someone who could come out and tell me the price of the job. Just like other reviews say he turned up over an hour later than he said. He had no tools. He opened my dishwasher and said it was a probably a problem with the drainage. I had already explained that my dishwasher drainage pump was working fine and I thought it was a problem coming from the sink. He did not want to open the door under the sink. He said his company would send me an email and with the terms I needed to agree to. In those terms it said the cost of any work would be £299 per hour and a call out fee of £59. I said - you haven't ascertained what the problem is and you want me to commit to paying you £299 per hour - There is no way. He said he could message the office and get a fixed price for me - this was without having opened my cupboard door! He came back and said the fixed price was £600. I was absolutely flabergasted. He refused to leave unless I gave him the call out fee -which was very intimidating. Luckily my husband was in the other room. The guy phoned someone and my husband spoke to him and explained we did not want the job. They said we still have to pay the £59 call out. I refused. I will not pay it because they did not give any indication - after I had clearly discribed what the problem was - that it would cost so much money. There is no way I would have called them if I had known they were going to ask for so much money and make me sign up for it.
The woman I originally called rang me and told the guy to leave. He was still arguing and trying to justify his behaviour when he left.
