Came across the Plum Guide when trying to book a holiday for our family of 10. The website is informative and booking the holiday was very straightforward. We spent a week at the Ambassador's Retreat in Kingsbridge, Devon. The house, located in a superb location, was beautiful with high-quality facilities throughout. Quite simply, we would never have found this very special place without The Plum Guide. The concierge team were easy to contact and both prompt and helpful in their replies. Very happy to recommend.

I was very disappointed in my experience with Plum. I had multiple complaints about my stay, mainly based upon false descriptions on plumguide. Their customer care team acknowledged that the descriptions were untrue and they acknowledged that we did not receive what they had adveristed and what we paid for. However they never resolved any of the issues, despite us staying for 6 weeks and being in near daily contact with them. We received nothing but platitudes. Afterwards, despite the acknowledgement that their website was misleading and contained false information and despite their acknowledegment that we did not receive what we had paid for, their engagement with us would rude and disrespectful and they refused to compensate us properly.

We stayed at the Beyond the Beach property in Ocean Beach, San Diego, and it was just as described. The studio was cozy, the bed was comfortable, and we felt safe with the gated entry, as long as other guests remembered to lock it behind them. It might be worth adding an automatic system for extra peace of mind.
The location was excellent, only a five-minute walk to the beach and plenty of fantastic food and shopping options close by. We really liked having access to boogie boards, beach chairs, and umbrellas. The courtyard was inviting with seating and a fire pit, although we didn’t use it.
The only issue was the shower, which never kept a steady temperature. It was either too hot or too cold no matter how we adjusted it.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again the next time we visit Ocean Beach.

This apartment was perfect for the three of us! The layout was great and made use of the space nicely. The rooms had ample storage space and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The shower might just be the best water pressure we have ever had! All AC units worked great and it was nice to have the TV, sitting area, and dining table for gathering. Washer machine and coffee machine were absolute necessities that we used. Check in/out was very easy, communication was great, and location is also good - just keep in mind that "close" means at least a 15-minute walk to the train station, restaurants, etc. No issue for us though. We would gladly stay here in the future.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at SOHO TALKS ,London found on Plum Guide. Our host was Giovanni and he was quick to respond every time from booking til our last day . We were 5 women..(auntie,mom,3 recent college grads in their twenties. This apt is so perfectly located, perfectly stocked,large rooms,beautiful balconies,quiet despite Oxford st right outside. Most importantly we all felt safe here! With Giovanni’s advice we found very convenient shops within steps for any needed items .i was a bit nervous booking from all we hear with air bnb, but no need for that ! We would stay here over a hotel in a minute. SOHO TALKS was a big part of our happy London visit ! Thanks again Giovanni

Brief to agent was clear, their recommended of this location was totally unsuitable. Agent clearly had no insight or experience of the locations and accommodation they are selling.
Avoidable confusion over seat allocation on the plane resulting in us not being seated where we wanted. But, had to pay regardless.

Location - Residential elevated area, no facilities shop, cafe, bus. Taxi / car hire essential. Walk to small bay 15 minutes.
Agent who showed us around the accommodation on arrival didn’t know how the equipment worked eg BBQ nor did he know the locale eg supermarket, taxi etc.
On arrival noticed rubbish left on the wall next to the outdoor seating area.

Accommodation - living space pleasant, lots of seating areas. More than adequate kitchen equipment although no tin opener, no store cupboard items eg tea towels, dishwasher tablet etc. Bedrooms very tired, Bedroom 1 - tiny, no plug socket, bedside shelving not level therefore unusable, air con ok. No soft lighting and switch outside the bedroom. Bedroom 2 - small, minimal storage which is used for for spare bedding. No bedside table, no soft lighting and light switch again outside the bedroom. AC ok. Bedroom 3 - self contained, spacious with en suite but smelt very musty. Shower room - sink tap leaking, rainfall shower didn’t work (plumber attended with little effect).
Pool can only be described as a plunge pool at best. Pool side seating sufficient for 2 people only despite occupancy 6.
Outdoor kitchen - lighting poor eg no bulbs, world war 2 stylie spot light, bottom 2 steps in complete dark serious trip hazard.
Despite occupancy of 6 outdoor space didn’t allow us to sit together outdoors on the patio or poolside.

Our first experience with Plum Guide was in planning lodging for this summer's family trip to Paris.Our on-line dealings with staff were very positive and fruitful from the outset. They helped us narrow down the many options of apartments they represent bearing in mind our needs and preferences. When one possibility fell through late in our trip planning, a staffer jumped in and helped us book another apartment and transfer our deposit. In many respects the apartment was a better selection and in a more convenient location than where we had previously booked. And, as an apartment, it was more than adequate for our families' separate visits. Finally, some post-trip matters were satisfactorily addressed by Plum Guide. We'll consult their listings for our next Paris trip.

Plumguide website has a feeling and a vibe of a copy of something of a poor quality website, a copy of something cheap and unappealing and unreliable. It has multiple "broken" images throughout the website and it appears neglected and its fonts are unimpressive and do not match. Those are the facts with visual proof available upon request. That is only my opinion and the way it appears to me, even with the documented facts, but I could be wrong in some ways. While Plum Guide lists only highly priced accommodation and I would like to stay at some of those places. I am surprised when I saw their website which looks unappealing, with poorly matched fonts and broken images and am unimpressed that a company striving for high quality can have such a neglected website.

In July, we booked and stayed at Modern Auteur in Los Angeles through Plum Guide, managed by Onefinestay, at a cost of approximately $40,000 for the month. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the home was clearly not prepared as a holiday rental. Instead, it felt as though the owners had abruptly left, with food still in the freezer, their car blocking our parking space, and personal belongings scattered throughout the house. The BBQ and outdoor areas were unclean, and we had to relocate the owners’ clothes from closets to store our own. Frankly, this was more akin to a house sit than a professional holiday rental.
We raised these concerns with the handover team, who attempted to assist, and, in good faith, we made the best of a disappointing situation.
During our stay, a friend visited with her certified service dog, a non-shedding cockapoo who remained outside most of the time. Despite this, Onefinestay imposed a $1,000 “service dog cleaning charge” after checkout without our prior consent. It is important to emphasize that under California and U.S. law, service dogs are exempt from such extra cleaning fees. Considering the dog only briefly entered the entrance hall and does not shed, the justification for this charge is incomprehensible. Ironically, the owners themselves have a shedding dog, as clearly stated in the listing information, which even warns guests with allergies not to book.
When we challenged this charge by email / phone we eventually received an email response which was dismissive, offensive, and displayed a complete lack of respect for accessibility rights and guest dignity. This distressing experience has led us, formerly loyal Plum Guide clients, to decide never to book through Plum Guide or Onefinestay again.
Moreover, Onefinestay’s unauthorized photographing of the service dog in the presence of minors constitutes a serious violation of privacy.
This conduct by Onefinestay is both unlawful and unprofessional. Guests should be wary of a company that imposes charges without consent and handles customer service so poorly.
Additionally, the inability of customers to leave reviews on their properties speaks volumes. Despite claims of thorough vetting, the standards appear remarkably low, as demonstrated by their lack of awareness regarding the property’s condition before renting it. There are too many issues to list here, but the simple advice is to avoid these companies entirely.

Green Gatsby London
We chose Green Gatsby because of its location. However, having never visited London before, we really weren’t sure how central this spot would be. Well, it was PERFECT! Shopping, restaurants , grocery & pharmacy all were nearby! Also, it is located across the street from beautiful Hyde Park! The home itself is lovely. Very nice for our large family of 5+ a baby. We requested early check in and were advised the day before that it was available. Super convenient! The house had hardware in the wall for baby gates, if needed. We decided to reach out, hoping to get the gates & the host came immediately and installed! We took advantage of their concierge service and booked transfers with them as well. It was easy and super convenient! Highly recommend!!

Had not received key code for booking 2 days later so rang and was told they would look into it. Shortly after received emails saying owner had cancelled booking. I telephoned owner who said there had never been a booking as she had only thought about using Plum Guide but had changed their mind. So two days before our holiday we suddenly had nowhere to go! If you use Plum Guide absolutely check with the owner that the property is available!
