PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company…

PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company they may appear cheap but they make you take out ridiculous indemnity insurances for no reason therefore they end up being more expensive. And the reason they are cheap is because there is only a handful of solicitors that actually work there of whom you can never speak to, all you get to talk to is customer services representatives not even paralegals it's painful.

Complete usless excuse of a company

Complete usless excuse of a company, not even worth the one star took them seven months to do a simple conveyancing, and when I complained there internal review said they could not see anything wrong, complete and utter waste of time.

A nightmare to deal with - avoid at all cost!

A nightmare to deal with. Incredibly slow, not responding to emails, moving like a snail when you call them. After 5+ calls and a month they finally managed to finish the ID check, 4% of the progress! Wasted so much of my time and had to switch to someone else, and they refused to refund.

Absolutely awful experience with PM…

Absolutely awful experience with PM Law. We are first time buyers and were excited about buying our first home and the ordeal we’ve been through with Hannah Speller has taken any joy that we might have had out of this experience. She ignores several of our emails. We have arranged several scheduled calls which she has missed without an apology or any acknowledgement whatsoever. She refuses to answer any questions regarding timescales that we ask and has even told us that she will not be answering anymore of our questions. Our file has been with the sign-off team for over 2 weeks. However when querying this with Hannah’s assistant, we were told that this usually only takes 2 days (we asked Hannah the same question and she wouldn’t answer). Any progress throughout this entire process has only come about after we have chased and pushed. She also claimed that she didn’t receive enquiries from our sellers solicitor but after pushing to find out what enquiry she was referring to, we found the email with the enquiry attached and showed it to her. She then backtracked and made up an excuse. She has been nothing but rude and unhelpful. At no point has she reassured us or showed any type of professional courtesy. I would not recommend. I am so disappointed with everything surrounding PM Law. We will be making this complaint known directly to PM Law in hope that the service improves at which point a further review will be made.

Stay clear!

To begin with, my case was dealt with by a legal assistant not a lawyer. Some complexities with the leasehold interest of the property (apartment) came up and the legal assistant attempted to do her best to resolve this but was unable to. I was advised a deed of variation would have to be written by the leaseholders solicitor at my cost and paid the fee to have this done. This took some months until the legal assistant passed this on to the actual solicitor. The actual solicitor picked it up and it was identified quite quickly that a deed of variation was not actually required. We were able to progress the case after months of unnecessary delays due to the legal assistants inexperience. On completion (11 months from start to finish!) the fees I paid for the deed were still in my final bill! I asked for a discount due to unnecessary delays that meant that I was paying tax/rates/mortgage on a vacant property whilst the unexpected/unnecessary delays meant that my wife was now on nil pay (maternity leave) whilst she and my daughter were depending on me. I planned for more than enough time to complete the sale before we were at this stage but never imagined this firm could be this bad.

Absolute joke of lawyers

Absolute joke of lawyers, trading as Bridgeview in Gateshead but part of this company. It’s a 7 month delay on what should be a 28 day auction purchase. Zero communication, one line response after months, should be really easy resolution but they are useless. Laura Thomas is the solicitor in charge. Avoid!!!’

Lack of communication and not upholding their duty of care

PM Law did my conveyancing back in 2016 and it was suggested that I needed an Insurance policy for an Easement (right of way) which I agreed to. All seemed good and I was pleased with the service.
However in 2022 I had reason to raise a concern with the relevant insurance company regarding the Easement and it turned out that the policy was never put on risk, even though PM Law advised me to have the policy. Since then for the best part of 2 years I have been trying to get them to take responsibility. I hired another legal firm to look at the case and they confirmed that PM Law were negligent, they should have a duty of care. The new law firm took the case on for me but despite lots of letters and emails PM Law have never responded even the compliance team have totally ignored the situation. I am know £5k down with legal costs and I have purchased an Easement Insurance Policy. I have been told that to take it to trial I could be looking at £20-£30K plus, money I don't have. I can not believe a law firm is allowed to act this way. I am very dissatisfied.

Amateurs

I was supposedly being represented by these professionals in a workplace injury case. They where at best mute when conversation was required and totally out of their depth when experience was essential.

PM law - Just amazing service throughout

I can safely say that by researching the vast array of Law/personal injury companies that I definitely chose the right one. Outstanding service throughout the three and half years the claim took to settle. PM Law kept me updated with how the claim was progressing and kept me informed of any developments. I would highly recommend them and if need be (god forbid) I would not hesitate to contact this company.
