Charged £594 to unblock an exterior soil pipe.
Paid an initial unrefundable £214 for the plumber to spend a large chunk of the allocated hour searching in his van for tools he didn't have.
After a spot of bodgery, bullshit, and a pat on the back, I was then told to pay extra or remain out-of-pocket and in-the-shit.
An immediate money transfer permitted the use of a jet washer, which promptly cleared the blockage.
The job would have taken less than 10 minutes had the jet washer been used initially. The manhole cover had already been removed, and the drain was less than 10 metres from the plumber's van.

PM247 arrived at the time they said, looked at the job, told me what it would cost, when agreed carried out the work, checked I was happy, tided up without any fuss and departed very efficient and pleasant plumber. so we were more than happy.

Warning PM247 company the service offered is not transparent no integrity with pricing policy. Trap you into a contract by sub contracting the work. To unprofessional with no full guarantee. A one month guarantee should not equate to extra charges if work was conducted correctly in the beginning. From my observation of the process it was a con, the machine process on works carried out was not used????? I will be taking matters further. The drain is still faced with the same problem.

Never again will I use this company
I contacted this company and was quoted £120+VAT to assess and use manual rods to unblock a drain. After missing four calls, I rang back and was met with rudeness, one staff member hung up after warning of a cancellation fee, even though I hadn’t cancelled. Another abruptly ended the call after saying the engineer was en route. I called again to express that hanging up on clients is unacceptable rude and not professional and clarified I was proceeding only to avoid the £75+VAT cancellation fee.
When the engineer arrived, I requested the manual rod method. He went to his van, and I then received a call pressuring me to approve a £400 power jet flush, despite no attempt with the manual rods. I refused, paid £144, and watched him work to ensure he did in fact try the manual method and surprise surprise the engineer successfully cleared the blockage with a minute.
My concern is how easily a vulnerable or elderly person could be misled into unnecessary charges. I’m glad I stood my ground.

Eron, the engineer was cheerful, polite and explained exactly what he would be doing. He was here quite a time, longer than he thought he would be, but was cheerful all through and did a great job. Best of all though, and this is truly thoughtful and deeply appreciated, he took his shoes off before coming upstairs.

My experience with PM247 was great. I had a blocked foul external drain and when I called PM247 they were attending already within the hour. I was given updates from the central team and clear details on pricing. When the engineer arrived he was thorough and gave me updates on findings during the works and of course the job was resolved. A very good service.

Charge £120+VAT (£144) to do absolutely nothing! No attempt was made to rod or plunge the blockage which is what I thought this fee was for, your simply disguising a call out fee as an ‘investigation & problem solving’ fee but none of this was done.
High pressure jets were quoted at a whopping £619 including VAT with a discount! I was nothing paying this amount at all!!! Outrageous disgusting business!!!

Disgusting price hikes and service
I booked because we had no water due to an air lock . They didn’t come I. The allotted time frame , when I called they said they were running late which would have meant they came around 9 in the evening so I asked to cancel as we were travelling the next day . I rebooked it for in a few days . When they came I was instantly told it couldn’t be an air lock as my cold tap would still work ( I explained this happened often and the symptoms were exactly the same and it was most likely an air lock) he didn’t try to pump the air lock out to check he went into the loft and said it was a valve issue not an air lock and left saying the company would call me and give me a quote for the work . They called back and said it would cost 600 ponds to fix . I felt pressured as we hadn’t had hot water for days so I had to say yes . He put in the new valve but it didn’t solve the problem and said that it must be an issue with the water softener and turned that off but it still didn’t work properly. I then suggested again it was an air lock and he then said it may be adding to the problem but it was definitely a valve issue and he pumped the water with the water hoover - it then worked . He was still insisting it was the valve and the water softener issue . I have since had my water softener serviced and they have confirmed there is nothing wrong with it . Disgusting that they are able to do this . Do not use I will never call them again or recommend. Shame on you pm247 !!
