Not Entirely fit for Purpose...

This is quite a tough review for me to write, but it must be said this is merely regarding the product and certainly not the staff, who were impeccable. I have a condition which affects my eyes and therefore, I am required to wear sunglasses whenever I am out. This includes the depths of winter when it is snowing! I found Pop Specs in the White Rose Centre in Leeds, and was absolutely floored by the number of fantastic frames there were! The products themselves are truly amazing and I couldn't wait for an eye test so I could buy some glasses, especially as I was under the impression I could sit and wait for my glasses to be ready. However, the two pair of glasses I ordered took over a week, a length of time I would have waited had I chosen frames at my optician. I have also found the products to be rather flimsy and certainly not fit for my purpose. I was swayed into buying glasses with transitional lenses. Unfortunately, I can't wear these as they don't go dark enough when outside. The second set of glasses I ordered were for indoor and night time use. I love these frames. Absolutely adore them. But they broke after only a weeks worth of wear. I have had to revert to my previous glasses from a well known optician and will be returning to order new glasses in the very near future. In my opinion, I love the Pop Specs idea and the look of the products is great, but they are flimsy and I wouldn't recommend the brand if you require things such as tinted lenses, bifocals or varifocals. A straight lens prescription for either distance or reading would be okay, but if you have any medical requirements for lenses, I would suggest staying with your established optician.

Pop Specs is a great company with…

Pop Specs is a great company with excellent customer service. My spectacles frame needed fixing and they actually did it for me for free and also within an hour!
I would recommend them anytime.

Visited the Leeds Trinity Amazing

Visited the Leeds Trinity store today and it was excellent from start to finish.

I was in need of some replacement glasses having had my (old) Oakleys broken whilst playing wheelchair rugby league at the weekend, i needed a replacement pair quickly for training and an uncoming game.

I popped in at lunch and picked a frame then popped back with my prescription and had my glasses within half an hour.

The frame is a similar style to my Oakleys and the inclusion of the anti reflective coating was a bonus.

Thanks wont hesitate to recommend and probably be back when it all happens again :-)

Resolved

Initial delay in them responding to my complaint about broken glasses but when they did get back to me they asked if I would visit Silverburn to speak to Laura. She promptly replaced the glasses and she was very helpful & so nice. Thank you for sorting

Whiterose store in Leeds

Whiterose store in Leeds.
Spectacles bought 3 weeks ago, not fit for purpose, varifocal lense, taken back on Saturday and the woman in the shop did the measurements again and agreed that they weren’t right. Apparently refunds have to be agreed by a manager and I was advised that the manager would contact me on Monday, no call Monday or Tuesday. I left the specs in the store. I will be contacting trading standards next.

We bought two pair today at the…

We bought two pair today at the Bluewater location. The young lady and man who served us were super friendly and helpful. Sorry we didn’t get your names, but you know who you are!

Our glasses were ready when we went back to collect them, no long wait.

I loved all the cool chunky frames. My daughter was also able to find an understated more delicate frame to better suit her needs.

We both left being able to see much better. I even paid to have new lenses put in my expensive designer glasses, so now I have a spare pair. Highly recommended.

Bought 3 pairs of specs from the Churchill Square, Brighton branch, which gave great value.Excellent service from Kinga. Very pleased with the variety of styles, price and quality. Knocks the big High Street opticians out of the park. Would use again.

Bought a pair of glasses and they are…

Bought a pair of glasses and they are terrible. I bought them from Manchester Arndale Centre. The lenses have fallen out several times. The lenses never seem to get 100% clean and have a horrible smudge on them. I have tried contacting PopSpecs via email and contact number to no avail. Absolute terrible glasses. 0 stars if I could.

I live nowhere near Manchester. I have no pop specs near me or I would have gone to the store.

UPDATE: The manager called me whilst I was at work, I called back and his assistant said he would ring me back which he still hasn’t done. Ridiculous customer service. Also you obviously do have my contact detail because the manager called me.

Have you taken the spectacles back to the Arndale Centre and raised your concerns and issues?

This is always the best option, so the store managers can help with any issue and either rectify or or organise a replacement service r refund.

As far as emails to ourselves, we have checked our email inboxes, and can find no records of your complaint at central office.

It may be possible the store has missed your mail.

Can we suggest you return the spectacles to the Arndale branch, and explain your issues, to the team there and we are sure they will deal with the problem immediately.

What a game changer for glasses…

What a game changer for glasses wearers! I have got my glasses previously from usual Specsavers, black and lizars and online places too. The whole process usually takes minimum a week and when the staff at popspecs told me twenty minutes I laughed well because I thought they were joking and having tried and tested it was actually 15 mins! Love my glasses, loved the experience and recommending to everyone!!! Shoutout to the team at silverburn Glasgow !!

Very poor quality

The quality of these frames is very poor. They are made of plastic and require adjustment every couple of weeks, as they become loose and slide down my nose, which is extremely frustrating.

When I raised this issue in-store (norwich), I was informed that nothing could be done, as this is simply the nature of the product. While the price may initially seem reasonable for a fashionable frame, the durability is disappointing — after just 10 months, they are no longer fit for purpose.

In comparison, frames from Specsavers offer significantly better quality and overall value for money.

Pop specs are absolutely terrible

Pop specs are absolutely terrible, for something that is advertised as 20 minutes 9 days later I had to chase the glasses they put lenses in for me , never again will I use this service, quick to take the money butslow in customer service.

Our 29 minutes service is for single vision lenses only, so if your prescription was for varifocals, or any other type of lens it does take a few days.

Evening to U, i,m not normally the Type to Make A Fuss, but Ur Romford Branch is The Pits. i was Attracted by Ur Bright Lights and Price Promise Stand in the Romford Shopping Moll, The 1st Assistant tried to put £70.00 on the Price Quoted, within a Week the Lenses Fell Out , After several Visits to Sort the Problem Out the Staff (Female) Said he,s Here Tomorrow He will sort it Out , I,ve been back 4 Times he is Never There, so Today I went back again, I need my Glasses, the Male Staff that seemed to be in Charge was on the Phone for at Least 25mins I stood there with No Acknowledgement that I was Waiting to Talk To him, how Can you Promote your Business with Such Rubbish Employees.

Having lost my reading glasses last…

Having lost my reading glasses last week , I thought oh no … another trip to the opticians , £££££ , so just for quickness I bought a pair of ready readers which were £30 from boots , anyway was out shopping in merry hill today Sunday and saw a pop specs booth , I was a little bit nervous about it however when I talked to Mel the girl who was running the booth she reassured me , I had my prescription with me and chose some really nice frames , all ready in 20 minutes, Mel was amazing very professional, polite and knowledgeable, best service ever , I will be going back there in the future for everything now .

cheaper, but you get what you pay for

I was helped by a girl at Shepherd's Bush in March 2025 who clearly did not want to be there and was talking to me openly about how she wanted to quit the job. She then failed to let me know when my glasses were ready; I had to follow up. About a year later, I went in for my annual checkup at Vision Express, where I was informed that PopSpecs had gotten my prescription wrong and had given me a slightly higher prescription than what I had shared with them. When I WhatsApped them to let them know, I received a message from the owner who just insisted that they provided "quality" products and that he could give me a "great price" in the future. He did apologize for the error, but it was too little too late. There are certain things that are forgivable in eyewear, but to not even be able to get the prescription right is too gross an oversight to be ignored.
