Like others before me

Like others before me, I thought I was supporting veterans and ex service personnel, so usually buy pins and or brooches every year. This year I decided to support by buying online (reluctantly because previously orders havent been received), I'm just glad I didnt spend the required over £50 to get free postage. Still waiting for my order, over a week later, who knows what method the Royal Mail use, or have the Royal Mail stolen it (not unusual). I wont be buying a poppy or anything from the Poppy Shop or British Legion again, after reading about the millions they have in reserve and that they dont help veterans, ex service personnel or whatever. I'd rather go direct to another smaller charity.

Replacement arrived after 1st order never received

Ordered on the 25th and after calls to locate my order a replacement was eventually sent out. Thankfully it arrived today as needed for 7th November (tomorrow) pleased with it but has been upsetting time waiting till the last minute. Not good at all needs a new dispatcher not Royal Mail.

Shocking expereince

Shocking - all for helping charity and RBL I always support.
In short they sent the wrong goods - been trying over a week to get a response by phone & email - nothing!
I ordered an item priced at £29.99 - they sent a different item priced at £6.99.
Thank God I paid via Paypal so will try and get a refund that way.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs, I ordered 4 badges and I waited about 3 weeks and then sent them an email, they then said that my bank card was fraudulent and I was a fraud. I rang them up and they blamed another company and by then did not have the poppies I wanted. Both my parents were in the Royal Navy and up until this year have always shown my thanks for the servicemen and women who gave their lives for people like us and the silly people sat at the desk of the poppy shop. Thanks to the poppy shop I have no poppy and it’s too late to get one. It looks to me like you’re the fraudulent ones as you have not put back the £44 I spent. Very upset thanks again

Ordered some items from them on Sunday…

Ordered some items from them on Sunday 11th October and the money for them left my bank account on Monday 12th October yet I didn’t receive a dispatch confirmation until Wednesday 21st October and the items have never arrived. I emailed them and after 2 days I got a response stating that according to their records my parcel was delivered between 23rd & 27th October and to confirm I hadn’t received a card from the Royal Mail regarding a missed delivery - I emailed back straight away to confirm no card from Royal Mail and that’s the last I heard from them!!! They have taken my money, I have no items and they really do not care!!! There is always someone at home everyday when our post arrives so I know this is not a case of a missed delivery!!! Judging by other reviews I am not the only one this has happened to which is a shame as I would no longer order from them and after reading other reviews looks like I don’t stand much chance of getting my items or money back!!!

Pathetic customer service!! Still awaiting a product or refund!! Avoid and help another charity!!

Like many others!! All i wanted to do was support their charity and the fallen by purchasing x2 pins. It took nearly 7 days to dispatch them, only for me to never receive them!! 2 weeks later!! i realise my house number was not registered on their site good i checked as i doubt they would ever of contacted me!! so i sent an email to receive no response, so i phoned and was on hold for 15 minutes!! only to be told there’s nothing they can do because they are now sold out (surprise surprise) and don’t issue refunds until the original package which is never going to turn up to my house as the number is missing!! gets back to them, so i’m now left with no products, no refund and relying on the royal mail to send them back asap and for them to issue a refund asap back to me!! It’s simple basic customer service!! just issue the refund as i’m clearly not ever going to receive the package without a house number!!

So if the Royal Mail never return it basically i will never receive a refund!! Shocking customer service!!

Why are so many companies so incompetent these days there is just no care or thought!! computer says no attitude all the time!!

Pathetic customer service and a real shame this establishment needs a good cleaning out, it’s becoming a cooperate machine rather than a charity!!

Good quality items arrived very promptly

I ordered a scarf and pin online and they arrived very quickly indeed. The scarf is really good quality, and most attractive. I'm not hugely pleased by the plastic packaging on both scarf and pin, that's my only quibble.

It should be run by ex service…

It should be run by ex service personnel who understand the needs and can offer real help sadly like most charities are run by greedy so called directors with their snouts in the trough creaming off the profits with huge salaries

Unsafe and Failed to deliver package

Failed to deliver package. Three times they rescheduled delivery and it hasn't been delivered. No indication where package is. Very UNSAFE in these Covid times, with multiple people handling package unnecessary.

String you along

String you along, talk to you like dirt and will not help you in any way!

Desperate or not, they couldn’t care less. They literally degrade you...

You need help, wasting your time with RBL

Absolutely no help

Absolutely no help. Refused to help a disabled veteran complete personal independence payment paperwork. I don't really understand what they do? Wearing a poppy is just virtue signalling for the unlightened. I'm confused to what they actually do. Please do not support this charity, they are failing our veterans.

They disgrace what they stand for.

They disgrace what they stand for.
I was homeless and rough sleeping in my car for 8 months.
I contacted the legion to get help as ex serving member of the RAF.

They were condescending to me all along and did neither understand my desperation or purvey needed kindness in my hour of need.
They tried to force me to stay in a pig sty that council offered that was covered in filth and i got asthma attack in minutes. They had a go at me for refusing, so lacking in understanding and consideration.
When I found my own place they gave me some vouchers that didn't even include delivery of equipment.i had one day to get items and had to get temporary stuff.
They deserted me immediately after.

Its our money left to them to take care of the likes of me but all they care about is saving the budget.

They are a disgrace and its a misnomer that they represent the welfare of UK servicemen

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. Had to give one star but wanted to give none.
Bought a pin for remembrance day to honour the memory of my recently deceased father who fought in Korea.
The website clearly stated to guarantee delivery in time for remembrance sunday you had to order by Wednesday 6th November.
I ordered on Monday 4th November.
The item was not received. I sent a number of unanswered emails. I finally got a response stating that due to the value of the item it had been sent to head office.
Head office is actually a company called w & j linney.
The terrible customer service has left me very upset.
Due to this I have decided to never donate again to the royal british legion and instigate legal action to recover my money.
Do not buy from the poppy shop.

A highly worthwhile organisation with a cr4p website shop

As an Army veteran I embrace the Legion and their work. What is an absolute sham is the Poppy shop website. Every time i try and buy something it becomes an absolute nightmare. From items just sitting in the basket after you believe you have completed the purchase, to not being able to complete the purchase due to no option to pay! They also think not sending any emails confirming purchase, receipt for payment or any notifications on delivery is acceptable.... Their website is losing money for those who deserve it more than most and that to me is wholly unacceptable.

Support the Royal British Legion.

Every year I buy a poppy to support the Royal British Legion. This year I went online and bought a poppy with my football team attached to the poppy. It was a great idea and reasonable price. I would recommend buy a poppy every year or at very least donate a pound or two (every little helps).

Website was easy to navigate and was delivered Very quick.
