Completely Useless

By far the most useless company I have ever come across. I have only seen complaints about them in our neighbourhood's Facebook group. They just ignore issues that come up, I have been trying to get them to sort out an issue for 6 months now and they are only good at issuing bills and giving out random parking tickets - not to the cars that are blocking the streets but to cars that actually have parking permits! Completely useless

It`s by far one of the worse places I ever lived.
Since I moved to Eddington Residential I have been constantly harassed by their Parking Company. They will randomly send you parking notices and the appeal process does not work. EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE EVIDENCE OF THE WRONGDOING! Every time they give you a different excuse and the list of tricks is too long to describe in this short review. FYI, it will cost you £100 for each parking notice (£60 if paid within 14 days). If you are considering moving to Eddington Residential I can surely tell you that it will cost you a fortune in parking tickets and a lot of stress when dealing with them. The alternative is to pay a monthly £80 charge to park your vehicle there (Although I WOULD NOT be surprised if you get a Parking notice too).

Portal Estate Management do not care about their tenants

Portal Estate Management are terrible landlords. Their apartments are cheaply-built and fixes take months (we had one fix that took nearly a year, and only happened after we threatened a rent reduction). There have been multiple thefts of parcels in apartment stairwells but Portal Estate Management ignore calls for increased security. Simple day-to-day things (like requesting an electricity meter reading) are nearly always delayed. When tenants leave, they're told to pay extortionate amounts for "cleaning", and are provided with photos of "proof" (one such tenant shared these photos, which included a photo of a single hair in a toilet). Some tenants have paid nearly £500 on an extortionate cleaning fee, feeling bullied into paying to avoid being charged at a later date when it is often impossible to dispute the charge.

Portal Estate Management purport to provide affordable housing for university staff, but with continued rent increases, the costs of having to deal with your own repairs, and the harsh cleaning charges, it doesn't end up being affordable.
