If your kids have a disability read this

We booked our park tickets for 6 adults and 5 children, out of them 5 kids 2 had a disability, one girl had cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair and my own daughter who is 5 years old and is non verbal autistic, on arrival we queued for 50 minutes for armbands for the 2 girls so they would have access to the rides. The bands were paper and had a barcode on them to be scanned at the rides my wife pleaded with the girl at the counter to let her wear the armband as my daughter would be likely to try pull it off her arm but she refused to let us do this, the park was very impressive and i found some rides i was able to bring my daughter on, when we got to the younger kids part after walking for about an hour we went to get on the main ride in sesame street but my daughter was refused because the guy said her band wasn't scanning and suggested we walk back to the start and get a new band. We pleaded with the guy to let us on but got nowhere, as we made our way back down through the park my daughter spotted a boat ride and got very excited so again we tried to get on the ride only to be refused again, my daughter was very upset and kept holding up her arm to be scanned but the girl in charge told us in perfect English we would not be getting on the ride when I tried to plead with her she told me she had no English I had to drag my daughter away as she was roaring crying and when I looked back I could see the girl looking at my daughter laughing, we headed straight for the exit and on the way out my wife who was furious at this point and went to complain to a manager who apologised and suggested next time my wife wears the bands, I woke from my sleep that night and cried thinking of my daughter holding up her arm to be scanned only to be refused and laughed at. If you hav a child with a disability I'm not suggesting you don't bring them but don't expect any compassion from any of the staff as you won't get it and the armband system doesn't work.

Fantastic, would recomend it to anyone and everyone!

I went a couple of years ago and stayed in the Hotel El Paso and from the moment we got there we fell in love with the place! I went as part of a massive family holiday (there were 19 of us!) and we just had so much fun it was ridiculous, even my 73 year old grandparents got in on the action! I've just had a little girl and I'm looking to book another portaventura holiday so she can come along and enjoy it the way I did and if I get my way, it'll become something that we try and do every year :0)

our last family holiday

well what can i say we managed to get early day flights so we arrived in the sun before dinner we we're stopping at the Golden Avenida in Salou, i must say the experience, the excitement was second to none it was our last holiday as a family it was fun packed all the way from the hotel to the shows, the water park and finally but not least of all Port Ventura was out of this world it was that good we went quiet a few times in the fortnight that we we're there.like most theme parks the food and drink can be expensive but if you have a strong back you can always get your refreshments from the local shops. Even now when we talk about holidays the kids say can we go back to Salou and they are now in there 20's.May be one day when the grand kids are a little older we will make the journey again.

The best themed experience outsid of the USA!

First visited the park when staying in La Pinneda and was blown away by the variety of the experience.

Since then we have stayed in all but the Gold River hotel.

Always found it clean and friendly and a good choice of food available from the buffet meals for all the family.

Like all theme parks the snacks can be a little expensive but the town centre is close enough to take advantage of the supermarkets. Don't use the 'British' shops just because you recognise the brands as the local shops have great produce much cheaper.

Anyone going during Halloween period bill experience a truly wonderful time with all the characters dressed in their scary outfits.

Positive things abut the resort and area:

Short flight time and transfer
Great entertainment throughout the day
Great pool facilities at all hotels and beach club
Water park is great bonus
Clean and friendly

My little girl (who is now seven) always asks if we can go back to Spain (Portaventura) whenever a holiday is mentioned.

Can't wait for May when I take the Mother in Law for the first time and experience the all inclusive at the El Paso for the first time.

Brilliant, been there twice!

A couple of years ago, we stayed at the Hotel PortAventura and booked through Portaventuraholidays.co.uk. It was absolutely superb and really great value for money especially with the park tickets included. The hotel is right next to the park and close to the Aqua park which has a covered indoor section too. Rooms were comfortable and the food in the restaurant was first class. Our kids especially enjoyed the nightly mini disco and entertainment. We went just before Halloween so all the park was dressed and decorated with pumpkins, ghouls and creepy crawlies!

We enjoyed our stay so much, we returned again late last September. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves once again. The kids were two years older and enjoyed going on the many rides that they missed the first time round. There were also lots of new shows and a few new attractions. The Sea Odyssey 4D had been revamped and there was a new Sesame Street area for younger kids.

I've been looking at going again this year, as they're due to open a new ride called the Shambhala - the tallest rollercoaster in the world! See the photo… Can’t wait!

I would definitely recommend PortAventura theme park and PortAventura.co.uk as their site is easy to use, well priced and simple to book.

Loved it!

We went to PortAventura last year in September and stayed at the Gold River. We were a group of young girls and we had a fantastic time. The park had lots of rides and we didn't queue for any of them! Hotel was lovely, very clean top accommodation.

I would definitely go back!

Very good value for money - Had a fantastic time!

I went to PortAventura last summer with a group of friends (there were 8 of us) and I booked the flights and accommodation through PortAventura Holidays, who were by far the cheapest online. We had an amazing time, we stayed in Hotel Gold River, which was very handy as it was right next to the park. We found the hotel to be clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. The theme park was fantastic, there's something for all ages, and it will keep you entertained for days! One thing that I thought made PortAventura stand out the most was it's water park - I would definitely recommend going when its open as its so much fun! I will definitely be looking to book with PortAventura Holidays again :)
