NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

Over an hour on hold so far over 45 mins messaging on WhatsApp - trying to get help for my frontline worker son caring for a vulnerable child no power since midnight currently 8.05am he’s got no heating no hot water 10% battery on phone. WhatsApp claim they can’t find the full address I found it in seconds on Google it’s the UK it’s winter yet you can’t deal with this can’t answer the phone leave people in danger you disgust me

time for a change…

if there is a reason to open this power supply to competition it would be the power cuts due to weather conditions everytime there is extreme temperatures it is ludacris that this company continues to be our only supplies and does what it likes

Power Cuts at the Most Festive Time of Year

Christmas 2025 was not great for us and our neighbours. The reason? Two power cuts of over 2 hours in length. One on Christmas Eve, starting at 1950 and the second on Christmas day, starting at 2155. Is this is what we will have to expect as 'normal' service at peak times in the Winter once Mr Milliband and his "Net Zero"zealotry take hold? I fear for the worst.

Superb Service

Superb Service, they have great staff, have had to deal with Western Power on quite occasions, every time they were first class, highly recommended - keep up the good work

Fantastic Service

I thought there was a power cut at first but none in the area. I tried to contact my supplier, who only works office hours and is difficult to contact anyway. 2 Western Power engineers arrived at 21.30 and stayed over an hour. The problem was connected to the newly installed smart meter. A new box was installed and now no problems.Thank you so much, Western Power.

Chain-sawing trees in birds' nesting season.

Unacceptable. Today Western Power have been chain-sawing limbs off trees in EX14 in the middle of birds' nesting season. They responded to my tweet with 'sorry that happened'. Not good enough. Is this company policy? If not, what is the company doing about it? Whether or not the land-owner understands the issues here, a company like Western Power has a corporate responsibility to act responsibly/ethically - and Western Power has failed to meet that.

Came home from a few days away to find…

Came home from a few days away to find we had no power. Phoned WPD and within an hour or so a very pleasant engineer was out checking things. Thought it was a power cable problem and called out a line crew - who came very promptly. They could not find a damaged cable but have got us up and going on a generator. It is hoped that a crew will be out to find the buried, damaged cable.
The service was excellent throughout.

Power reconnected quickly after storm Eunice

Storm Eunice hit us in Devon this morning and our electricity supply was lost about 10am. Western Power Distribution had it back on by 6.30pm when I expected it to take days based on recent reports elsewhere and the extent of the storm.
My only criticism is that alert and update messages were completely inaccurate giving expected reconnection times in the past! However, given the performance this time and in the past, I think Western Power Distribution deserve a big thumbs up.

Doubled power supply

Am putting in an Air Source Heat Pump and needed to upgrade my power supply and have a split transformer installed. WPD organised everything and carried out a really efficient job. Would like to acknowledge Jamie Hall for the planning side and Steve Thomas for the installation. All done in a timely manner even though it had been raining hard and the ground was mud, mud and more mud. Well done and thank you.
