Extremly unfriendly in their communication. Horrific costumer experience!
Threatened to charge us a no show fee in case we can't make it to the game do to the oncoming tube strike in London tomorrow:
"If we do not hear from you we will assume you have a team available and the absence charges will stand if you are unable to play."

Appalling communication and planning. They are just interested in taking your money.
Based in London with no idea about what’s going on locally.
Hopeless and dealing with problems or complaints. They just stick their head in the sand and hope you’ll go away.

Completely money grabbing. £60 a week for refs that don't watch the games and pitches badly in need of repair. Give them plenty of notice by forfeiting a game 2/3 days in advance - and they charge us fully and for the opponents fees without telling us. Meaning when we cancelled because our team caught covid - we had to fork out £120. Utter shambles. Can't leave the league because we'd have to pay the forfeit £120 for each game that's left. Just avoid this company with every fibre of your being. Don't make the same mistakes we have.

They accept my money in 2minute process and won't let me withdraw. Eventhough I have provided them my passport(proof of identification), my selfie, my bank statement(proof of address), and bank information. AND they still won't let me withdraw my own money. This is stupid. This never happened to me. Now i gotta go speak to my lawyer now since they are not giving me my money back.

If I could give zero stars I would. Hands down the worst company I have ever used. They constantly hike up the prices and then tell you it's just X-Amount more per player (what so i have to ask each player for 6.33 now? Like that's a normal amount) They charged us for a game that stopped becasue a guy had a cardiac arrest. When asked why I didn't pay that week I told them exactly that and then they just took the money using my previous payment information. Honestly the company is awful! The refs very rarely get the score right each week and stand there on their phones all game. I know it isn't professional football but for paying as much as we do it's a complete joke of a company. Horrible, horrible money grabbing company who don't care at all about their paying customers and only about ways they can make more money.

The only good thing about this company are the things they have 0 say in, playing football with your mates.

The customer service is DREADFUL.

They’ve raised prices twice, £34 per game, once attempting to justify it by saying we’ll play longer matches - we haven’t, it’s been 40 minutes the entire time.

Two weeks ago (start of March 2022) the majority of our team got Covid, I called up a week before to notify an absence and they informed us we still had to pay as “the uk has done away with its restrictions”.
Leaving us with two options, play and spread the disease… or pay for having it? Obscene.

We have been loyal to the league for over 2 years, but have lost all enjoyment due to unenthusiastic an referee.
I accept this may be out of their control somewhat, but it doesn’t reflect well upon them.

I’ve been trying to leave our league for 3 days now, multiple members of our team calling them - only to be redirected as the individual who deals with the southern leagues has to be the one to do it.

Amy, if she’s real, hasn’t been in contact with any of us. Leaving us in limbo, as if they’re waiting for next week to come around to charge us for another game we won’t be playing in.

Multiple people at this company simply don’t do their job and are horribly unhelpful.

We joined the league as a bit of winter fitness up in the North West.

All was fine until we actually had to start playing. Referees would just up and leave before the games saying they couldn't stay for the late kick offs, bad backs, too cold, got to get home for tea etc. just some of the pathetic excuses we got told as to why we'd be left without a referee some weeks.
Then we'd be scheduled for matches, show up to the games and be told the match was off because the floodlights weren't "bright" enough despite the fact they're the same as every other week and WE WERE CHARGED for this shitshow.

Then due to COVID isolations, positive tests and changing work patterns (several of our team are healthcare professionals working frontline in the pandemic) we couldn't field a team anymore so we gave the league notice that we would be unable to field a team for at least a month and would like to drop out - not only were we charged still (fair enough for last minute dropouts but we had given them plenty of notice) the cheeky sods charged us DOUBLE!

We eventually got out of the league and were told a random weeks payment from 3 months earlier hadn't been collected, we explained that was their mistake not ours and actually we had 5 or 6 weeks were we went without a ref or our match was cancelled and we still got charged so really they owe us money. After plenty back and forth we decided it was easier to pay the £33 we owed, we tried to and the payment was rejected due to their website not having enough online payment security (their words not mine) and rather than rectify this, ignored all our future emails and passed it on to a debt collection agency.

They're an absolute bunch of cowboys, worst 5-a-side league I've ever taken part in, wouldn't dream of joining another league ran by these clowns.

This league Is a joke. After many experiences with other 5 aside Leagues from time at uni and previous leagues in my home city I can not even believe that this league is allowed to run. We started competing due to it being the only league that fit with everyones work schedule however this has been a great regret.

Firstly the price is outrageous; £40 a week is the most I have seen for a 5aside by almost double. For this price we expected a premium service but received the complete opposite. The pitch was awful quality with 0 grip and is very clearly not maintened, on top of that the league advertises 4 games being played at once but 1 of those 4 pitches is not actually on the astro turf but instead a neighbouring hockey pitch.

Secondly the referees just simply don't care. We have had multiple games in which the referee does not show up at all as well when they do show up paying little to no attention regularly just sitting on there phones as the match is played. Obviously due to this we have had to send 3 emails in 6 games as the referee submitted The wrong result.

Thirdly there is no balls. Even typing this seems outrageous. £40 a week PER TEAM and we have played nearly an entire season with either no ball supplied or 1 flat/ very low quality ball.

Finally there is 0 team discipline. In our league a team has not shown up for 4 weeks in a row now and clearly show no sign of returning. When joing the league we were placed in a que of teams waiting to join so we can confidently assume that replacing them is not an issue they just don't care. On top of this it's not uncommon for other teams to not show up also to no repremand meaning every week you never know if you are actually going to show up to a fixture.

This was extremely insulting recently when a friend of ours from uni commuted An hour and a half on the train to arrive to no balls, no refree and match being played on a hockey pitch all for £40. Unfortunately by looking on trustpilot it's clear that I'm not the only one but yet I see no sign of change.

Powerplay is a scam please if you have another option it really is worth it

Just wondering when teams will get a Full refund for games cancelled prior to the whole season stopped because of covid. Surely we should not have to chase for our money through a team captain?? You are not responding to emails either.

SHAMBLES! AVOID! Played in this league for many years never missed a game refs wouldn't turn up and sometimes the other team! We miss one game give over 2 weeks notice got charged 60 pound. We are owed 3 trophies and medals still received nothing. A player had covid so we all had to isolate and couldn't complete the season and they charged us 160 pound even though we couldn't play. I am disgusted with the league manager or shall I say wet wipe Ricci Campell who was clueless and lied over the phone on recorded calls. Andy wouldn't speak on the phone as he knew he was lying and had the evidence on email of him lying. They have passed it on to debt collection for 160 pound which we don't even owe. A employee and so called referee assaulted one of my players and will be taking Powerplay to court over it which will be funny seeing them in court. I hope covid beats this shocking Micky mouse money grabbing company and I hope no one gives them a penny and hope Andy trains Ricci on not to be a puppet and a compulsive liar.SHUTPOWERPLAYDOWN. I have recorded phone calls of Ricci lying and will be seeking legal advice.

Terrible company that will hunt you down with a debt collector if you are unable to complete a season (9-months long commitment!)

Awful company! Just been chased by a debt collector after having to pay a fine for a game we missed (despite paying and then having a dishonest employee that clearly pocketed the money) if it’s Bromley ravensbourne your attending don’t bother! Nickson will just pocket your money and pretend you didn’t pay it

Haven't had a game in 3 weeks. That makes a total of 6 games which we turned up to with no one to play in approximately 20 games. My players do not want to play in this league anymore and have since left for other teams. They won't let me leave the league and I have no players. What am I supposed to do to resolve this? They have even admitted its a poor service and are offering me £20 per game instead of the £33 that it should be. I still have no players and this does not rectify the problem that they caused. I have 0 support to find people for a team. Yet they expect me to pay a £66 fine if I don't bring enough people. What a poor service. You created a problem and now refuse to take action.

Same negative experience as everyone else on here.

They are a scam outfit who insert aggressive small print hidden at the bottom of T+Cs after a sales call that mentioned none of this key information.

After one successful and enjoyable season with powerplay we decide to continue with another season. Due to personal issues I was unable to put a team together and told my powerplay associate for the area that I could not get a team together and we wished to drop out of the league. I was then told if I did not get a team the company would fine me double the price of the game, £78. I then continuously told them that I was unable to pay that being a student and getting no finical assistance from my team mates. I was then told I had to clear off the debts or more charges would be added showing no remorse for my situation. After a month I received an email saying if I did not pay this debt off within the hour I will be passed on to a debt collecting agency and more charges will be applied. Panicking me and a close friend split the debt leaving us both almost penniless, we are both students and do not have a spare £80 to give away.

Do not use this company, they will squeeze every penny from you they can no matter your situation.

I have read through the other reviews on here and they all seem pretty similar. My experience is no different. The company is run by conmen who have no care for football, they just want to squeeze as much money out of everyone as possible. They keep no records of who’s paid on the night and charge obscene fees for absence.

They should absolutely be shut down. Debt collection threats, huge fees and awful customer service. Has put me off for good.

Absolute SCAM!!! Played 2 seasons and payed everyweek even though somehow we managed to run up a bill of £90+... We then did not want to continue the next season as only 5 teams stayed instead of the 12 we had and we were charged £469.00 that was sent straight to a debt collecting agency!!

They will manipulate and take your money!!! Write your complaints straight to the Financial Ombudsman Service. As long as they have 10+ Cases this company will be shut down for good!! They deserve it!! What an absolute disgrace taking money from us like that!!!

Disgraceful just remember Financial Obudsman Service... Keep all details screenshot league and keep track of money spent. They have 0 proof that we do not pay week in week out althought they charge you week in week out regardless if youve paid or not!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! Crooks!!! You want to rethink your jobs and exposing yourself the people behind the emailing because there will be people knocking at your doors!!

This company will send your debt to a collection agency if you do not pay quickly. Instead of taking a deposit or simply working with these amateur recreational teams to find a solution for inability to show up to games, they go straight for the jugular. They only charge you for your teams' absence and whatever the other team would've paid as well. For my football team that meant this:

1. We learned that the amount of teams in our league meant that the season would be over 5 months long (much longer than anyone thought).
2. We were on the hook for 140gbp each game we were unable to attend - so bowing out of the league meant being on the hook for 2,240 quid.
3. No amount of notice would relieve us of this obligations (we have a month's notice).

After we left, they sent the full debt plus administration fees to a debt collector which soon started to hound me for payment.

This is a AMATEUR, RECREATIONAL league that costs as much as a used car and will find you if you don't pay that debt just like a used car salesmen. Horrible company - there are plenty of other places. I recommend GoMammoth instead. Much more flexible understanding and FUN.
