I write as a reference for European Odyssey. One need hardly seek references for a firm with a 100% success rate. But I am pleased to provide details of my experience. Very early on in my move to Portugal, I realized that I would need assistance with the paperwork required to apply for a visa and later, residency.

People say that you can apply “on your own” and I suppose that’s true, But why do you need to know every nuance behind every word in every sentence in a process that you’re going to do once? Especially as the climate continues to change as it has over the past 6-7 months, when rules are published but not enforced, when clerks and mid-level administrators willfully over-ride black and white government directives.

European Odyssey has been a beacon of sanity in this process. Ellie Rose and her staff are virtually always available; a same day response (or at least acknowledgement) is the norm. European Odyssey provides check lists, preparatory meetings, and final check meetings at the client’s convenience.



I worked with European Odyssey on my visa and residency applications for Portugal. I got to take advantage of the support tools that they have created (check lists, date trackers, status meetings, etc.) and their nuanced understanding of the Portuguese immigration system. I recommend them without reservation and would definitely hire the firm again.

We have been considering retiring to Portugal for well over a year now. We researched many relocation and immigration experts and European Odyssey was one that shone above all others. I had a very positive experience with European Odyssey. The number one benefit would be their speed of response. Even when there was no update coming from AIMA (which was often), Ellie and Tia would always get back to me to let me know the latest and what the next steps would be.

When we were looking for assistance to help get a D-7 Visa for Portugal we read about European Odyssey and were interested on how their services might help us. Ellie and the team have been an absolute godsend! After (unsuccessfully) trying to navigate to change my NIF address from the UK to PT featuring no less than:

- Three unsuccessful trips to Financas.

- A useless trip to the Junta de Freguesia.
- Being dismissed by the online service of Financas.

And being at my wits end... I asked Ellie if they could assist. Within 2 days Power of Attorney was issued, and within a further 1 day my NIF address was changed and my NHR registration complete!

Greetings, friends and future expats! If you are reading this, you are either already there or you are still considering a move to Portugal. Either way, congratulations!

By now, you’ve done some research and come to realize that the process can be quite daunting. However, there is a solution and we are certain that it is the correct one. Even though we could have attempted to do everything on our own, we quickly realized that having a consultant to guide us through the process was the absolute right decision.

We contracted with Praia Club (who are currently rebranding to European Odyssey), to be our consultant and guiding light.
Their knowledge and expertise has been invaluable in getting us to this stage. My wife and I had our VFS appointments in Miami during the week of July 8, and thus far, the process has been 100% accurate and stress-free because of the guidance provided by the knowledgeable team at Praia Club.

We knew early on that attempting to do this on our own would’ve been perilous, time-consuming, and expensive. The consequences of making any errors and/or omissions on our D7 application would have put us right back to square one. It is essential to have not only all of the required documents, but also everything must be positively accurate. The team at Praia Club made sure that we had everything that we needed in order for a successful application appointment at VFS in Miami.

PraiaClub is great! They worked with us from nif to residency card. Ellie is wonderful to work with and not like so many of the other companies that nickel and dime you. She was available nearly 24/7 which must be exhausting...I don't know how she does it.

She provides not only a great service, but it's a warm and understanding friend during a stressful process. I can not recommend her enough! She also has others on hand when additional lawyer advice is needed. My partner and I are not married and they helped us get through the D7 process on my passive income for both of us. Additional documents were needed to show our relationship and with their help we did not have one issue.
