The idea of this app is great.
But Too much talk from coach, leading to No flow.

The coach teaches once then asks for you to repeat, then moves on.
- and without repetition or momentum little is learnt.

I’m stuck with a 1 year subscription that is not successful and I do not wish to use.
I would greatly appreciate a refund.
I wouldn’t purchase again & I wouldn’t recommend the app.

It’s a marvelous app, especially because you can study various languages from scratch for free. Personally I’ve reached C1 in English and B1 in German using Praktika and the experience overall was fairly decent.

I am enjoying this stress free opportunity to speak with someone in my learning language! My tutor allows the lessons to veer off into answering my questions, work on specific targets on a whim. This is real back and forth discussion and practice and is helping me speak more easily!

For the Japanese AI, the pronunciation is not always correct. The items that are not being pronounced correctly are fundamental for speaking Japanese correctly. For a beginner, this can be a major problem.

Probably the best language app I've tried. The accent of the tutor has some flaws (in portuguese) but generally is pretty good and fluid.

I appreciate the effort of PRAKTIKA for this new App. I am learning Japanese, which is a big challenge both for me and PRAKTIKA. Why is that ?

Well, it seems that PRATIKA is not (yet) prepared to introduce Japanese writing such as Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. I registered as a beginner A0, and the App uses japanese text without any explanation. This need an update.

As of today I make short use of PRAKTIKA to see how things develop....

I'm genuinely impressed with Praktika. I can practice English every day and talk about almost any topic with my AI teacher, which has made learning enjoyable and natural. The price is incredibly affordable for everything it offers. I'm using it daily, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their English.

Reply to answer button is tricky. Explain is too long sometimes can not understand all.
To may two way conversation is not happening mainly I don’t know enough to make fluency.
Tutor doesn’t correct my pronunciation.

I like that I can have a conversation and receive feedback immediately. I like that the AI person allows questions and even for me to say that I want to leave that conversation if it is too easy for me. I like that they have a few choices of AI presentation.

Sometimes the "person" gets stuck on a sound and it is quite noticeable that it's ai. Also, I'm not sure why we go through the language assessment in the beginning because my plan is giving me content that is too easy and that takes time out of what I could actually be learning. Additionally, the AI people definitely look like computerized people once they start talking. It's a little freaky. Finally, they give us a choice as to which type of spanish we want to learn (Castillian vs. Latin American, which they call standard); however, every single one of the "standard AI's still seem to use Castillian. Annoying.

Brilliant! The option to create a custom scenario with the Ai is fantastic. Im currently leanring German at School and this is a brilliant way to backup my lessons. If there was a downside, there are some words the Ai cant say or pronounce, especially words with ä, ë, ü or ö. But as the sound is backup with written text, its not so much of an issue!

The app itself isn't bad, but the moment something goes wrong, all support disappears. My account has been locked for almost 2 weeks over a basic password reset. The support chatbot ("Mira") kept promising it would be fixed "in 2-3 days," which never happened. When I later asked for a refund, I was told I'd missed the refund window — a window I had no way of knowing about, since the app simply didn't work and the bot kept telling me to wait. Worse, there is no way to reach an actual human — every channel routes back to the same chatbot, which eventually just stopped responding. I've been stuck for days with no support and no way to escalate. Before buying premium, know that if anything breaks, you're on your own, and there's no human being to appeal to.

There is absolutely no front loading on this app for vocabulary. It’s great for listening but not for speaking. I understand most of what the AI tutor is saying but I’m clueless how to respond because I don’t know much vocabulary. The vocabulary word of the day is useless for my particular lesson. Despite being able to understand most of what the tutor says, there are some words that I can’t make out in context. To my knowledge, there’s no way to look up the words that I don’t understand. This is not giving me any confidence in my ability to speak, only to understand.

So far so good! I am enjoying learning German with Praktika. I had a problem with installing my account in app, got a customer service support super quickly and my problem was solved!

The developers have put a lot of work into this app. It’s highly customizable to your learning preferences and will challenge you. I recommend it. Worth the price. Indispensable tool in my language learning arsenal.

When accepting the trial period I agreed (flagged) to be informed before it finishes. Not a single notification arrived, just after the midnight the amount for 3 month was taken from the card. As for the app content, not that bad, but it has a lot (and I mean really A LOT) of bugs, it gets stuck with no reason, while reading the text it invents words that never appear in the subtitles, very often it understands a completely different thing when I reply to the tutor. Ok for these three month, however not sure to be willing to renew after.

I can’t give it less than four stars, considering the excellent quality it offers even without a Pro account.
It works very well with Western languages (I’ve used it for English and French), but not as well with Mandarin Chinese, where it often makes mistakes or confuses the pronunciation and doesn’t offer any writing features. Overall, though, it’s a great tool for daily practice.

This app is better than the others I've used, given it offers real language and grammar lessons, rather than just asking endless questions.

It's a good resource, but doesn't actually provide the feedback on your speaking unless you click through to a secondary screen which breaks the flow. The ads suggest that the tutor will correct what you say verbally but even with the strictest setting this doesn't happen. It does help build familiarity and confidence with speaking if you already have some knowledge.
You also can't hide the written script which shows what the AI will say before they actually say it. It breaks the flow of the conversation.

I emailed the following to Praktika AI:

«"Hello. My son subscribed to this using my phone. Unfortunately, I have my cards linked to Autofill. Please cancel this subscription and refund my money. I never intended to use this. Thank you."»

My son made the purchase on 4 July 2026. I sent that email on 5 July 2026—the very next day, well within the 48-hour refund window. I received no reply from Praktika AI, so I resent the same email on 7 July 2026. Again, there was no response.

Later on 7 July, I sent them a direct message on Instagram explaining the situation. I received what appeared to be an AI-generated response (although I'm not certain). They apologised for my experience but claimed that I had contacted them outside their 48-hour refund policy.

I replied, explaining that while my Instagram message was sent later, my email had been sent the very next day, clearly within their 48-hour refund period.

There was no reply.

I then sent screenshots showing the email and the date it was sent. Still no reply.

I sent several more messages asking them to please respond. They never replied again.

I shared my experience in the comments on their social media posts.

Instead of responding or resolving the issue, they blocked me, and no refund was ever provided.

Be honourable and decent. This is no longer about the $89—it's about doing the right thing.

Please do the right thing.

I love how I can actually shift the tutor’s language from Spanish to English or vice versa. I realized that I actually learn
more Spanish words with the lecture in Spanish made convenient by a translator button. It also focuses on conversations covering your preferred scenarios. And what’s great is that you have a dedicated AI tutor of your choice. I love it.
