Unprofessional Non-Payers, Avoid Like the Plague

I have previous experience of working for their tech brand, IO Associates.

IO Associates placed me on a software engineer contract in early 2021. Unfortunately their client turned out to have some questionable practices and a noticeably unpleasant working environment, evident in the emotional state of their existing developers.

After a week of trying to see the positive side I decided it was best to hand in my notice, the client didn't want me to work any notice period so we left it at that.

I'd put in some solid work and a couple of late nights but the client decided they weren't going to sign off on my timesheet as they didn't want to pay IO Associates.

Contractually I was working for IO Associates (not the client) so was to invoice IO, but after six months of chasing people at all levels of the business, only to fobbed off or messed around, I still haven't been paid for the work I did.

If you're a contractor who expects to paid for days worked whatever the whims of the end client, then steer clear of IO, there are plenty of other options.

In 20 years of contracting I've never dealt with a recruitment agency as bad as this one, they are the type of agency that give the industry a bad name.
