I have attempted to renovate my lawn twice now, last year i used hurrells hm4 which looked great but the lawn soon become bare which I was told could of been caused by the winter months I cannot see this been the case as I had to do a quick patch repair so I used a box of asda seed and it is still thick today. After doing some research I decided to try the shady seed mix after advice was given and yet again it has not taken properly I got better results using hm4 so to be honest I'm not to happy.
The job got done correctly i scarified, seeded then top dressed the area and was making sure to keep the ground moist.
I think its time to try another brand. Also Boston seeds is actually a part of hurrells strange I know however i received the seed in a plain white sack unlike hurrells were the sack is branded also ordered 20kg and got 10kg and had to resolve the issue through hurrells which they did within a couple of days.
I'm sorry to say but I cannot put it down to how I have prepared the ground and managed the watering so its rather poor seed or again wrong blend of seed choosen for that area of my lawn.
