Pretty much a scam...

Pretty much a scam...
They'll flog you off to dealer to get a "Special price"

Promise you a $100 fuel voucher,
Collect commission from the dealership and forget about your voucher. Forget means they'll never honour it.
They'll ignore your emails.

Keep your data that you supplied them and can't even use it in a way it needs to be used.

Instead of showing data what others actually paid they put a "good price, average price, something along those lines

Stay away from Tom.

Instead go directly to dealer, and say I'd rather pay you than go thru price my car... Save yourself some hassle.

0 stars.

Liars and cheats.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your comments but I really don't think this is a fair reflection of our service. In good faith, we originally referred you to Range Ford on 26th December to get a quote for your new car - this was based on their previous performance (pricing, reviews, responsiveness etc). And we introduced you to the fleet manager who manages the requests we send through.

Following delivery of the car which I believe was early Jan, we sent the dealer an invoice for our spotter's fee and to cover the $100 fuel voucher that they had agreed for all PMC referrals.

We chased the dealer for many weeks, trying to keep you in the loop. I can see a total of 8 such emails from Tom and myself and I know there were a number of phone calls as well. The dealer didn't indicate any issue for several months.

Eventually the dealer (Ryan) belatedly said the reason they aren't going to pay is because you had already ordered a car three weeks before our referral on 2nd Dec

Quoting: 'As you can see by the attached I have sold this customer 2 cars so far. The first being on the 6th October 2020 and the second car being on the 2nd December 2020'

So looks like we miss out on our $250 spotter's fee as well which, to a small business is also a big deal.

I do apologise however, as I did on the phone, for the following:

Several emails were not replied to which should never be the case so apologies for that.

Also apologies for not keeping you up to date with the dealer's action (lack thereof). I assure you were were lobbying hard behind the scenes but to no avail.

Needless to say we no longer recommend Range Ford. Hope you are enjoying both your new cars though.

Thanks

David

Car shopping made easy

I went online to learn which dealer would be close to my area to buy my special car. I was advised by Price my Car to go to either of 2 dealers. I went to both. I was trading my 3 year old car in. One dealer gave me a much better tradein price which made the car I wanted to buy a much more reasonable price.
Very Happy with my new car & then I received a $100 voucher from Price my Car. Such a bonus. Happy with dealer they suggested & very happy with service from Price my Car.

This Website is Misleading

This website is just a handoff to dealers. They couldn't provide recent sale prices to Australia's most sold car - the Ford Ranger. Also, graphs they provided recommended paying $6000 more than what was listed drive away on the official Ford Australia website. (3.2L dual cab XLT Ranger).
I really did hope this website would be useful, but it isn't. The website says "Compare actual pricing data (not modelling or forecasts) including what other people paid, actual pricing and resale trends"... So clearly the "Raw Data" is not that complicated even though they'll likely attempt to respond to this with some sort of jargon. The say there is no modelling or forecasting but that is all you'll receive - your payment is your contact details. The resale graph may prove helpful for a trend line but off the mark for the actual value based on personal market research.

The website will just provide your contact details to local car dealers and lower your expectations to make you think you're getting a good deal when you really aren't.
I would say this sort of service is borderline fraudulant.

Do yourself a favour and do your own research, look at forums, talk to people who own the car you want, but don’t waste time at this website.

The best and stressless way to buy a car

I must say that Tom@Price My Car and Philip@BMW Doncaster were absolutely amazing.

Philip had the time and patience late on a Thursday afternoon to listen to what our requirements were and was able to come up with some amazing options.

He then organised for one of his salesmen to provide us with a test drive car the next day.

We both liked the drive of the car ect. so we then did the deal on the car that Philip had quoted us which is a car that is on a boat and due to be available late February.

If you are wanting to buy a car at a great price and have a “ Stressless “ experience then Price My Car is certainly the way to go !

A complete fraud

A complete fraud. This site reads like it will show you what people have actually paid for cars. Nowhere does it tell you that. Just gives you some graph stating if you get it for less than such and such price that’s good great or otherwise. No 💩.

Hi Simon,

We've got over 400,000 prices all super-complicated quotes and invoices. We work really hard to make sense of the raw data such as:

Strip off accessories
Adjust for registration types
Normalise for different state-based charges
Check and invalidate old models or facelifts
Strip out anomalies
Allow for aged build plates and compliance plates
Weight the data based on source
Decay the impact of prices as they age
Analyse trends over time

And a heap of other stuff. Then we use that info to provide, as you said, a graph to show you what a good/excellent price looks like.

Not sure that's fraudulent, it's a genuine attempt to help people get an idea of what they should pay! But thanks for the 💩

I came across this site on computer, wasn't sure if I should bother or if it was one of those dogdy sites that just give you spam calls.
Am so glad that I decided to fill in the details - absolutely amazing, no pushy salesman and no unsolicited phone calls
Already had one price from local dealer but wasn't really sure about what car I actually wanted
Between Tom @ Price my Car and Krys @ Capital Subaru, I couldn't have asked for an easier purchase.
Krys was already aware of Price My Car and was happy to provide an amazing discount.
Picking up my new car at the end of the month, also looking forward to receiving my $100 voucher for fuel.
Totally recommend going through Price My Car to get your next new car

Useless

Useless, do not bother. How can the most popular model variant of the 2nd highest selling small SUV in Australia return zero results?
Waste of time.

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the feedback - I tried to get in touch to find out what variant it was. I know it's frustrating but we actually have over 400,000 data points to work with but we still have holes here and there. However for a popular car like that I'd have thought we'd be well covered. Let me know which one and I'll take a look.
Cheers
David

Woeful buyer experience. Avoid!

I was trying to purchase a White Hyundai i30 Active (Automatic) and contacted Price My Car.

I was immediately fobbed off to another broker. Their email said...

"We have analysed your requirements against our network of over 1300 providers and determined that the best option would be to connect with one of our car broker partners."

The dealer they fobbed me off to still has not replied to my enquiry.

Their admission of 'our network of over 1300 providers' is a complete joke. They could not find me a deal on one of Australia's most popular small cars.

What a disappointment.

Hi Kevin,

As I said on the phone, I apologise that our partner let you down and didn't get in touch with you - it's a shame you didn't let us know by phone, email or SMS and we would have jumped on finding another option.

We work with 1320 new car dealers and 14 car brokers across the country and we try to use an array of data (pricing history, previous reviews, response times & location) to find the best match.

Being a small business it can be hard to keep on track monitoring all these companies but thanks for the feedback and we'll try harder next time.

I'm sorry

David

perfect for what i needed to find out

Brilliant service that saved me hours of time and frustration. The answers i was looking for were instantaneous. My husband, who thinks he is a big shot car expert challenged me to see who got closest to the actual price of a bunch of different cars and he won. I liked the fact that i could compare a couple I had in mind.

They just gets your number

Edit : Maybe I was a bit harsh, and was upset as they make you give up all your details just to get nothing. Editing review from one star to three.

Original post:

They just want to collect your data and they don’t even have the price of the car I’m looking for. It’s bad enough they want your email and then they want your phone number.

Came across this site on computer

Came across this site on computer. Was in the market for a new car , so decided to fill in details to see what evolved. Already had one price from local dealer and an estimate for trade in. Was contacted by a dealer more than 100 kilometres away, offering almost $10,000 less than first offer, also offered $2,000 more for trade in. Result, a brand new car in the driveway. Also received $100 voucher for fuel. Will and have recommended this site to others.
