This is Mark Strobel, Primera's Vice President of Sales. I respond personally to any 1-star reviews we receive. They're rare, and we take all reviews seriously, so I looked into your order right away.

You purchased a black ink cartridge for $37.95, which is our standard retail price and is quite reasonable for how long they last.

However, you selected FedEx Priority Overnight shipping at checkout, which carried a carrier charge of $43.03 to deliver the cartridge from Minnesota to Idaho by the very next morning. That rate comes directly from FedEx and is passed through to you without any markup on our part.

For context, standard ground shipping on this order would have been around $7.00, and orders of $100 or more ship free by ground.

We did everything we could on our end. Your order was picked up and on a FedEx truck within an hour of you placing it. From there, FedEx did what FedEx does: moved it across the country overnight and delivered it to your door in Idaho the next morning.

We're a small, US-based business in Plymouth, Minnesota that has been designing printers and serving customers like you for 53 years. We understand the pressures small businesses face, and we'd like to think you do too. If you feel it's fair, we'd genuinely appreciate you reconsidering this review, since the shipping cost that seems to have prompted it was FedEx's charge for the service you selected — something entirely outside our control.

We value your business, and in light of the facts above, we sincerely hope you'll reconsider your 1-star rating.

Loved the Process, Not the Back-Order Surprise

The process itself was super simple, which I appreciated. That said, it was frustrating to find out the printers were actually on back-order after the website showed them as in stock. Having to run my card a second time was inconvenient and a bit annoying. Other than that, everything went perfectly.

We’re glad the ordering process itself was simple and smooth. At the same time, we understand how frustrating it can be to discover a delay after placing your order, and we apologize for the inconvenience of having to run your card a second time.

For clarity, when a product is not immediately available, we place a bright red callout notice directly on the product page with the estimated lead time. Unfortunately, our eCommerce platform does not currently support a traditional back-order function, so the product may still show as “In Stock” while the red notice provides the updated availability details. This allows customers to continue placing orders while being informed of the expected timing.

That said, we recognize that the messaging can be clearer. We will continue to request improved back-order functionality from Adobe, the provider of our eCommerce software, and we will also look at ways to make the lead time even more obvious on the product page.

We value these ratings very much because they directly reflect the level of service we work hard every day to provide. Our goal is simple: to deliver a 5-star experience for you each and every time in the future.

Amazing!!

As expected, my cookies using Eddie have been a HUGE hit and I ended up receiving my largest order for Delta Airlines for this week and went through all the cartridges I had! 😳 The clients are just fascinated and I am tickled and I am so very happy with what I’m able to create. I’ve even used it to print on dipped treats. Now, I just need to figure out how to print on M&M’s. 😉
