Wrongly computed payment instead of a credit on state

I had good experiences in other years, but for my state return there was no provision for a significant credit (that they did initiate last year) until I called to ask. They added the provision and indicated online that I was due a refund, but the return submitted omitted the credit so that I owed payment. When I called customer service again I was told that the credit had to be entered manually at their end and was omitted. They prepared an amended return that I had to mail in. They did not offer a refund of payment for the state filing until I asked. Not the very lowest rating because the company did respond and take some steps to make it right, but the error would have been costly if I’d just trusted them. I would have had an easier time doing it myself or using one of the many other providers of the same service.

Once we were notified of the error on the state return, your amended return was completed free of charge to ensure that your accurate state return was filed. Our website does offer an additional payment option for current year accounts. Clients can choose, instead of paying with a credit card, to opt for our Fee From Refund payment option. Although there are some additional bank transactions fees, this option allows you to submit your current year account without paying our fees upfront. Unfortunately, we do not offer a bank loan.

We believe our payment options are quite straight forward, simply pay our fees by credit card now, or have our fees deducted from your refund later.
