Hazardous Installation and Failure to Resolve Issue
My home insurance required that I purchase a Moen Flo device; and Frontdoor Pro (a service agency in Memphis) is contracted by Moen to find a local plumber to install it. Frontdoor Pro assured me the device could be installed in my utility room where the main water line enters, and the rep confirmed this based on measurements I made. However, when Dionel Lopez, the owner of Lopez Plumbing, arrived, he insisted it would be easier for him to install the device outside, running a live wire through a wet garden 37 feet to the nearest electrical outlet, which ignored Moen’s specification that outlets be within 10–15 feet. I explained the electrocution risk this would pose to my gardener and visiting children, hazards of rodents chewing into the wire, and other safety concerns, but Dio dismissed them.
Trying to find a solution, I suggested going through the window because I didn’t want the brick wall damaged. While I fetched a 5/32" drill bit from the garage to test out making a small hole, Dio took it upon himself to force a large 1/2" mortar bit through my aluminum window frame—gouging it and scraping the brick. He recommended covering the jagged edge with colored caulk.
He spent just a little over two hours on the job and another 20 minutes talking about his plans to retire early. After he left, I discovered the exposed wire set up near sprinklers and in winter rain, leading to a non-GFCI indoor outlet, making things even more hazardous. I also found he had left the concrete street cover for the water main open along with a tool by the roadside—another sign of carelessness. On top of this, the ball valve he installed was missing a locknut, which I still can’t find a replacement for.
I reported the damage and carelessness to Frontdoor Pro and requested reimbursement for repairs and replacement parts. The lead supervisor, Adriana Sanchez, stalled for six weeks and ultimately blamed me, claiming the damage was my fault because I tested the inside frame with a small bit. Neither Dio nor Frontdoor Pro took responsibility for the clear negligence—using the wrong tool, ignoring safety, and leaving my property with damage and liability issues.
Although Dio seems like a decent person and I wish him well, the actual work left my home worse off and created safety risks that are unacceptable. Frontdoor Pro’s response was just as disappointing: delay, equivocation, and refusal to address real problems.
I strongly recommend avoiding Frontdoor Pro as well as Lopez Plumbing, but - based on the positive reviews that Dio receives on his Google page - it could be that Dio doesn't do good work for Frontdoor Pro (he complained they didn't pay him enough; however, I was billed a total of nearly $1,500 by Moen and Frontdoor Pro) and he might do more diligent work when he's paid directly through Lopez Plumbing. In any case I will need to escalate my situation with complaints and a claims process at higher levels to get a resolution. There is no excuse for creating hazardous situations and blaming customers. I have read a few reviews that confirm my experience that Frontdoor Pro is an unethical company.

Awful experience
Awful experience. Never use them if you can avoid. We had to use them because insurance requested. They always requested 4 hour window and we had to plan the whole day because they could show up anytime within the window. The first appointment I was reached by customer service by the end of the window saying that the technician got injuries and had to reschedule. The second time we waited from 9am to 1pm and received a call saying the technician were stuck in the previous job and need to extend for an hour. Then 1.5hrs passed they just never showed up. I called and customer service had to call the technician to find out what’s happening. They were still stuck with unknown finish time. At this time we had to reschedule again.

The person came out to perform a check up on my furnace. I told him that it leaked water when the air conditioner ran. He said he did not have tools to clear line. I have not heard anything back. I do need it repaired but should not have to pay for. The furnace was installed January 14, 2025!
