Bad insurance company
Progressive sucks so bad that they add your name to random people’s accounts and proceed to charge you for it. Hopefully you don’t have roommates either or they have to go into your policy so they can charge you more under the guise of protecting themself
Progressive is being cheap and not repairing car appropriately
Progressive's insured rear-ended me at a stoplight. She admitted to not having her eyes on the road and had no idea how she "ended up on my bumper." My car was five months old and had only 1,202 miles on it at the time of the accident. Progressive refused to approve OEM parts for the repair. They instructed the repair shop to use an aftermarket bumper.
Dont use progressive
Damaged a new vehicle and here I am 2 weeks later and they are still hassling me on my claim. Still is not approved. WOW . I messaged my claim rep 3 times
and no call. Ill be switching companies very shortly
Update 3 days after above. STILL WAITING FOR CLAIM ADJUSTER TO CALL Great Job Sharz Rodney
ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE SERVICE
I canceled policy because I got a…
I canceled policy because I got a better rate from another insurance company. I had recently made a payment and had 21 days left on my policy, but they gave me back the reverse. They gave me back what I had paid for nine days and then took the rest of my money saying that there was a policy change since my last payment and they were taking my money. Don’t ever use Progressive. The supervisor who I spoke with was so unfriendly uncaring and unhelpful.
Worthless company
Don’t do it. Don’t do business here. Save your sanity and your time.
HUGE MISTAKE
I paid $627 for six months auto. I cancelled after one month and was told my refund is $239! They alsoo took $50 more out! WHERE IS THE REST OF MY PAYMENT? IT IS GOING TO TAKE WEEKS TO GET MY REFUND!
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. Literally only good for keeping the bank off my a**. For some reason they need a ton of info (probably to sell) from anyone of driving age that you so much as just LIVE WITH even if they don't and will never drive your car. Then if anything ever does happen, they're entirely useless at getting your car fixed. They are a pointless money laundering ponzi scheme disguised as an insurance company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Do not do business with this company
Do not do business with this company, they treat you like a criminal if you are submitting a claim, finding ANY reason not to pay out. They take forever to respond and most of the time they do not call back. I have had other insurance companies and never ran into issues like with Progressive. Stay Away !!!!
Horrible company progressive with freeway insurance
Called to make a payment January 8 2026 ,the lady agent did the payment to gainsco insurance which I don't have cause I'm with Progressive and the lady sounded so confuse like she didn't know what she was doin sooo UNPROFESSIONAL. Still don't know how she did that mistake with all the info they ask you before u make a payment. Now I called and they can't find nothing in the system. They so quick stealing ur money but to solve their mistakes they are not . Thieves ,Will definitely not recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was with Progressive since 2018 till 2026 never had a problem till now ,it used to be a nice insurance at the beginning but now is 💩
Terrible company!!!! will send you to collections even when it’s not your fault
Terrible company. They ended my automatic payments one payment to early. They said I was going to be collections months later . They gave me a date to contact them by before they do it . I did . And they already said it was sent. I didn’t have enough money at the time because of living pay check to paycheck . And I asked if we could set up a payment plan and they said they don’t do that and it didn’t matter anyways cause they already sent it. They didnt care at all. Terrible to treat people like that have have been with you for a while . Will never use again
Scammers and scheisters!!!I recently…
Scammers and scheisters!!!I recently purchased an auto policy from Progressive, and two months later they sent my an additional bill for $99 to charge me for a "Snapshot Participation" discount that they said they gave me, but had to charge me for now since I did not download their app to allow them to track my driving behavior (and everything else) with their app so that they could sell the data. I was never told about this discount by my Progressive agent. He got me the lowest rate without telling me that my rate included this discount which I never would have agreed to anyway.
Poor experience with Progressive
A gentleman sideswiped me, hitting my left rear wheel and fender. It left my wheel and fender damaged, as well as the rear light cover cracked. The gentleman who had progressive insurance, admitted to sideswiping me where the damage was located.
Progressive simply refused to admit the accident caused the wheel or light cover damage, even though they were at the point of impact. They only covered the fender. Sorry Progressive, but this is a simple and total lack of professionalism. Money over people.
The reason I currently have Amica was because how impressed I was with their custom service when a young lady with Amica insurance rear ended me 15 years ago. They covered every single thing that POSSIBLY could have been associated with the accident and I received the money in 48 hrs.
Amica was awesome. Progressive is awful.
Do not I mean do not go with…
Do not I mean do not go with progressive . I had one car with them trying to get a quote for a second car . Without my permission without any of my signature they enrolled me and started taking money out of my account . Ridiculous
They put my step grandson on my policy…
They put my step grandson on my policy even after I told them NO! He is insured under his father but they all live with me. I gave them his father's information to prove it so I canceled and now they say I owe them for my step grandson! How can they double charge and how is this legal??
Used them for 12 years
Used them for 12 years. Service used to be great. Finally dropped them after they straight up lied to me multiple times about a claim. I'm not surprised they screwed me over, but I am kind of amazed at their brazen dishonesty and outright incompetence. Progressive used to be a solid company, but now they're just trash.
My car had close to.9k in damages.from…
My car had close to.9k in damages.from tje accident. They said they wouldn't cover my windshield that cracked during the accident.Because it had a rock chip. The most complete bS.I have ever heard. As soon as the claims process is done from this accident, which wasn't my fault.I will be switching insurance companies.
Terrible shady practice, what is next, charge for Air your breath?
Interesting fact, if you see on you policy excluded (and someone who lives with you, name) that means you are paying $10 a month just because. My father in law paid for 2 years for someone who lived with them for 1 month and then moved to Canada. We never paid attention because it says excluded, but we paid $10 every month for nothing.
Called to take their daughter off the policy. It took a while but they took it out, then they added his wife to the policy. I said why? she never drove car, doesnt have driver license, she is 65, will never drive car. They said it's the policy, she will be excluded. I said ok. Then rep told me the insurance is going up by $10 a month or $90 a year. I said wtf. Could not do anything to take her off and that $10 charge. So everyone who lives in that address needs to be on the policy ("Excluded") and you are paying $10 per person not even knowing it. Will they charge next who visits your house? air you breath? just because they can. Re tarded company.
Greed has no limit. Avoid at all cost
Unprofessional Claims Handling by Lauren
I’ve been a customer of Progressive Insurance for about 10 years, and this was by far my worst experience.
My daughter’s vehicle was hit while parked outside her home. She was not in the car and was not at fault. My daughter is only 20 and has never been in an accident before, so she contacted both insurance companies because she genuinely thought that was what she was supposed to do. At no point did anyone at Progressive take the time to ask basic clarifying questions that would have made it clear she did not need to file a claim with our policy.
We are proceeding through the other driver’s insurance, so I contacted Progressive to understand why the claim could not be removed, what their internal “investigation” would involve, and whether this would impact my daughter’s rate. Despite being transferred through multiple departments, no one could give me a clear answer.
The claims specialist for Northern Nevada, Lauren, was dismissive and repeatedly interrupted me. I’ll be honest — I did get flustered and raised my voice, but only because she would not stop talking over me. I actually had to ask her to please stop being rude and let me finish my questions. Instead of addressing the issue, she accused me of yelling, repeatedly said “this is not a call center,” and claimed she could not transfer me to a supervisor, even though I had already been transferred through several departments just to reach her.
She then ended the call — and by that I mean she actually hung up on me. When I called back, another representative immediately transferred me to her supervisor’s voicemail, which directly contradicted what I had been told.
Insurance is confusing, especially for young, inexperienced drivers. Customers should be guided clearly and treated with respect, not talked over or disconnected. This experience was extremely disappointing.
Horrible service
Horrible service. Over 6 months since my claim and still getting the run around. SMH
I got scammed by this people
I got scammed by this people. I wanted to cancel my policy, they told me to stop making my payments and it would be cancelled. I did stop making payments. Months later they are contacting me saying that I have to make those payments or they are going to report me to the bureau. They can’t find a way to steal people’s money. Worst insurance company ever.
