Project Management Academy was a great resource for information and training.

Project Management Academy was extremely informative and a great course to help me prepare for my PMP Certification Exam. Their instructor Gary was amazing. He made himself available throughout class and even answered questions after class to help me understand things that I did not get during class. If you are going to take PMP prep, you must take it with Project Management Academy.

A multitude of resources to prepare for…

A multitude of resources to prepare for the exam. My teacher was kind and responsive to questions. I think it would be best for PMA to confirm that someone is actually eligible to sit for the test (through submission and approval of documents) before shelling out several thousand dollars to take the boot camp course and have resources available.

The instructor was very knowledgeable

The instructor was very knowledgeable. He walked us through some of the tricks and pitfalls of the exam. I would have liked an upfront outline of how class was going to be taught as at the beginning we seemed to jump around a lot. Took a day and a half to figure out what we needed to reference vice knowing up front so we could organize reference material.

Great Course

High quality seminars coupled with practice tests and exercises made prepping for the PMP smooth. Went to my test prepared and passed on the first try.

Great course. Passed PMP 1st Try

Great course. Zoom for 4 days. Right to the important content. Followed their recommendations for study material and timelines. Took the test within two weeks of taking the boot camp and passed first try. Lots of info, but just listen to these instructors and you will pass. It’s not really PMBOK these days.

PMA Boot Camp for PMP Exam is Well Worth the Cost!

I recently attended a PMA Book Camp toward my PMP certification. I honestly didn't know what to expect and was nervous about having to take the PMP exam afterwards. Well, all my concerns melted away as class progressed daily that week; the knowledge of the trainer (William "Bill" Holmes), his real-world PM experiences and the training materials were spot-on. After following recommended practice exams/exercises and study materials, I was able to successfully pass the PMP exam a week later, scoring "Above Target" in each of the three categories!!! I will not hesitate to recommend this course (and Bill) before your take the PMP exam!

Incredibly helpful

My instructor Marcus was incredibly knowledgeable and gave great hints and techniques for how to study for and be success in taking PMP exam. The mock exam I took after the course help me target exactly what areas I needed to focus my studies in. The mock exam answer review was also extremely helpful in explaining the thought processes of how to narrow down and choose the correct answers on the exam. I would definitely recommend Project Management Academy to any of my friends and colleagues looking to take the PMP exam.

My first class with them was horrible

My first class with them was horrible. It was the 8 half day course. The first day the instructor (Cecilio Mills i think his name was) said he would be about an hour late to each class after that. So that was 7 hours missing right there. Then each class often ended early. I felt for something that has so much information that we should have the full class. Then we also did the practice test which when we started going over the answers, he answered the first 6-7 questions wrong. I complained and they gave me a redo for another instructor. That class was better and went the full time but found out during this class that my first class was no longer supposed to have the practice test happen during the class and was supposed to be filled with content instead. Then the new instructor was supposed to send end of day emails each day as an added bonus. His name is Adrian Mendoza. At the beginning i was like man this is way better, but then at the end he failed to bring it to the goal line for me. He spoke the entire time about the importance of being a servant leader and to make sure your team was good and has what they needed. But i reached out to him to see about getting the final day email with resources and he never responded. I then texted him, no response. I emailed PMA, the first time they didn't get a response. The second time they reached out they did and the instructor said he sent it. Well I received the emails from day 1, 2 and 3. I checked junk mail. Nothing. I am highly disappointed that as much as he spoke about leadership and communication, that he could not communicate with me or ask for a different email to try sending it to (though I did provide him with another email address and nothing went there either). My recommendation would be to find a different place for instruction because you don't know the caliber of instructor you will get.

Excellent instructor - Great curriculum

The instructor was experienced, had a great teaching style and provided an excellent foundation for not only passing the exam, but provided real world concepts to the curriculum. The class exceeded my expectations!

Passed 1st try with highest score possible after virtual boot camp.

Passed PMP Exam on 1st try with highest scoring possible after taking the virtual boot camp and no prior formal training!!!

How I did it:
1: I have been a PM for 5+ years but had no formal training and my pre-training exam scored 24% (OUCH, that did not help as much as I thought it would). Took a week of PTO to focus on training.
2: I completed the 4-Day virtual boot camp with instructor Colleen Stemler Monday - Thursday, 9-hours per day.
3: I spent 4-6 additional hours studying each evening / night after the 9-hour class ended Monday - Thursday.
4: On Friday (the 5th day), I did a final 3 hour early morning study session and took my scheduled PMP exam. I passed it 1st try with Above Target scoring in all 3 domains (This is the best score you can achieve).

Recap: Went from 24% on pre-test to highest PMP score achievable in only 4 days!!! I recommend this this course to anyone looking into PMP. It is one of the hardest, if not the absolute hardest exam you will ever take. It is extremely mentally exhausting as well but it is worth it in the end.

Excellent Prep Course!

I recently passed the PMP exam with flying colors, thanks to the excellent instruction of Russ Thornley at PMA's boot camp class (taken at the end of August, 2021). The course that Project Management Academy put together was (is) excellent and the material provided was just what I needed to be prepared for the test. They give the right advice and pointed out just what to expect in the way the PMP test is administered, and they were right on target. Thanks Project Management Academy and Russ Thornley for setting me up for success!

PMA provides excellent resources

PMA provides excellent resources. I attended the 35 hour PMP course and the PMP extra day course. The additional resources such as their mock exam, timed practice exams, live online tutoring sessions and online resources made passing the PMP certification exam on the first try a success. Thank you PMA!

Bill Holmes is a Rock Star!

nstructors Bill Holmes and Wayne Brantley do a great job delivering the course material and both showed a genuine interest in seeing me succeed in the course. Bill went above and beyond by speaking with me after the class and giving me some study tips and providing some mentorship. Passed my PMI-ACP and PMP certification exams with flying colors on the first attempt. Thank you Project Management Academy for putting together a great product and for your great staff!

PMA and the Agile Practice Guide helped me pass the PMP on my first try!

I took the 4-day PMP virtual bootcamp class with Crystal Richards in March 2021 and passed the exam on my first attempt six weeks later in May. I came across the class through a google search and was immediately sold by their money back guarantee. Being a total newbie to the PMI/PMP world, I was just very eager to learn and very excited to get it done. There was so much content taught in the class, it was near impossible NOT to feel overwhelmed during it, and I certainly did, however Crystal made the material seem very manageable. She is very knowledgeable, has so much wisdom from her own experience as a PM, and she did a fantastic job covering PMP content at a very high level. Her enthusiasm and Crystal-isms made the class very enjoyable (I laughed out loud several times). I also loved that we were given short breaks throughout the day. Those helped me to refocus (and get my steps in). I appreciated her/PMA's recommendation of taking the exam 4-6 weeks after the class as many people, if not most try to take the PMP 1-2 weeks after doing a bootcamp (whether PMA's or someone else's). Giving that recommendation as well as the recommendation to take three practice exams and not sit for the real exam until you get a 75 set very realistic expectations for what I should get out of the class. I didn't do well on the mock exam at all, but the encouragement Crystal provided right after I emailed her to let her know how I did and where I would start with my studying was the pick-me-up I needed to feel so defeated so early in the game. I attended the mock exam review the following Friday which honestly was not the greatest. I don't remember the instructor's name, but I basically felt disappointed in how the session was handled overall. He spent way too much time on the beginning sections, and rushed through the end without giving thorough explanations. We were 30 minutes over the 2-hr time to get through the entire mock exam. He also seemed to kind of make things up for some of his explanations, and was even just flat out wrong for a couple of them, and that annoyed me pretty bad. The reason why this doesn't affect my rating score for PMA is because he was not my instructor, Crystal was, and she helped me through those questions I had issues with. She is just top-notch. A friend of mine recently said, "The prep classes are not taking the test for you. Only you can put in the work." I cannot stress that enough! The resources available through PMA are what got me through my entire six weeks of studying. And there are a LOT of resources- slides, PDFs, videos, flash cards, practice exams. I studied two hours a day and took a practice exam once every weekend (minus one weekend). I didn't crack open a book almost the entire six weeks until I read the Agile Practice Guide (also recommended by Crystal) two days prior to and on the day before the exam. PMA and Crystal were such an integral part to my success on the exam, and having Crystal encouraging me along the way during the journey definitely kept me going and built up my confidence until I reached a point where I felt like there was absolutely no way I would fail the exam.
