While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

They are basically thieves and…

They are basically thieves and fraudsters. Their online purchase system does not allow you to cancel auto-renewal (basically they make it impossible to log on to the system until the auto-renewal has been processed... I know I tried dozens of times and then miraculously the day of the auto-renewal I was magically able to get on). Avoid like the plague, they are common crooks.

Greed and incompetence

I purchased Data Rescue 5 in January 2019. However on launch i get the following message: "Failed to validate serial number. Please verify you are connected to the internet." Basically they have disabled the serial number that I paid for with good money (Let me tell you it wasn't cheap and the icing on the cake is that it is limited to 5 disks, something not made clear at point of sale). I contacted their support as I had an urgent issue to fix, but despite their (automated) assurance that I would hear from them soon, I never did. I purchased Disk Drill the same day and it is 100 times faster than Data Rescue. If anyone reading this plans to trust this company with their precious data, think again.

When you buy their software and they…

When you buy their software and they update it to a newer version, your old one stops working and they ask you for an upgrade. Literally unheard of! I have 10 year old software that still works with the serial number I received when bought, their Data Rescue software just stops working.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, unless you want to "rent it" for the full price
