Customer service fine, products poor.

Customer service was perfectly fine. The products smell great, but deodorant didn't really work, the body wash doesn't foam, and both were expensive.

Salt of the Earth stuff is much better if you want refillable, eco-friendly toiletries, but their marketing isn't as Instagram-friendly.

Order not received on time

I made an order and money was taken on the 30th of May, I received a confirmation email that my order had been received and to check back for tracking.

After almost 2 weeks I’ve yet to be updated, despite several attempts to contact the company I’ve heard nothing back.

My subscription shows as active and shows a previous order as delivered but I’ve received nothing and there has never been an update on shipping.

I’m hoping by leaving this negative feedback I will no longer be ignored.

**edit I have since heard back from customer services and they were apologetic about the delay in replying to me as they have experienced high email traffic recently.
They explained that the order had been lost in transit and raised a new order and sent it out express shipping.
I have updated my review to reflect this.

Good product, but stupid pricing

The yellow case is cool, and the deodorant stick lasts a long time and smells good.

However, Proverb have a completely stupid pricing strategy, where the refills are exactly the same price as a refill + a new plastic case. So I may as well choose a nice new case each time I order a refill! Doesn't make any sense, promotes waste, and defeats the whole point of me choosing a refillable deodorant. Also the refills are very expensive at £15 each (or £12 for a 'subscription', which I don't want).

So, regrettably my plastic case is going in the bin, and I'm switching to another manufacturer now.

I had been using Clinique for years but…

I had been using Clinique for years but really needed a change. Their products weren’t for me and, having found out they test on animals in order to sell to the Chinese market, it was time to find an alternative. I tried a bunch of other natural options on the market, and not liking them, decided to give Proverb Deodorant a try. I am so SO glad I did. I was immediately impressed and having the option of different strengths is amazing. I have found the active Wild Mint and Eucalyptus to be THE best deodorant I have ever used. Not just the best natural one.

Following this I have gone on to try many of their other products; The Cleanse & Shave Nutrient Mud, Energising Facial Scrum, Hydration Pro Moisturiser, Strengthening Skin Serum, Body Wash, Muscle Ease Gel and the Natural Hand Sanitiser. I cannot fault a single product.

The above are all now part of my daily routine. I smell better, feel fresher and have healthier skin than I have had for years.

I haven’t even got onto the fact they’re heavily focussed on looking after the planet…or that their customer service is second to none. A super friendly team who have always been quick to address any questions I’ve had.

Really cannot fault any part of my experience and am more than happy to recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Frustrating online experience and poor choice

I was initially pleased with the product but geez their online ordering experience is poor....I know this is a first world problem. I've tried two different aromas of deodorant, the eucalyptus and mint is like having mouthwash in your armpit and the Coconut & Tonka had such little aroma that it may as well have been odourless. Why is sandalwood or some of the spices not an option?

No problems at all with ordering

No problems at all with ordering, delivery, and I really wanted to like the product- for a couple of months I tried the 'active' version, then the standard. Unfortunately I just couldn't get on with it. It doesn't apply very smoothly- it's more like a compressed powder so drags a little on the skin and flakes fall off. In terms of managing pits it was about average. After I stopped the subscription the company did get in touch but I don't think any of their current options are what I'm after.

A great deodorant!

I had been using a different brand of natural deodorant for over a year and wasn't completely satisfied with the longevity of the scent (applying twice daily,) so seeing an advert for Proverb on Facebook I thought I'd check it out.

I'm so glad that I did. The mint refill has a lovely tingling sensation after applying, it doesn't leave white marks on clothes and surprisingly the scent lasts right up to the evening (I could still smell it after a swim.)

Customer service is outstanding, Kirstie (the owner) has been very helpful and responsive with my questions about skin sensitivity and ingredients.

I would highly recommend you give this brand a try if you're looking for a decent natural and long lasting deodorant.
