I've never felt so sketched out before.

I've never felt so sketched out calling a business customer service number before. I called just to request a copy of my life insurance policy listing the beneficiary. I was immediately met with a flurry of questions in a very demanding tone. They asked for every piece of identifying information possible. After I was asked to verify my phone number a THIRD time, I really began to feel sketched out. I checked my phone several times just to make sure I entered the phone number correctly from the Prudential website. I'm considering trying to find another life insurance company after this experience. I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to call and get anything accomplished in a real situation, and also would not want my spouse to have to deal with this kind of customer service if I were to pass.

Worst CS

I am a customer service manager and if my agents treated people this poorly, they would be fired. They are rude, unhelpful, and just want you to use the online accounts so that they dont have to work. When you tell them the site is down, they want you to talk to technical support instead of helping you. What a waste of my time.

Highly unethical company-stay away

My mom has been paying into Long term care insurance for 23 years. She recently had a massive heart attack and almost died. She has multiple health issues so we moved her to assisted living. Although her policy clearly states assistive living is covered prudential keeps denying her claim using a nursing home level of care as criteria. We have provided letters from doctors saying she cannot complete the necessary ADL’s and the representative had the nerve to imply her doctor could have lied because he isn’t objective. They play all kinds of games asking for additional documentation they already have to wear you out and give up. They are unethical, provide junk insurance and scam the elderly and vulnerable by not honoring what is offered in their policies. My mom of a very modest income wasted her hard earned money on a scam.

I'm possible to get a withdrawal from this company

I recently had a severe brain injury, almost didn't survive a couple months ago. I'm now on seizure meds, but being out of work I can't afford to pay on any medical bills so I can continue dr's care nor afford my meds to prevent another seizure. I've sent in well over $43k in bills along with BCBS statement of benefits , charges from several doctors added into one bill from Vidant, but because it's not one amount, they aren't smart enough to add them up to come up with that amount, so I keep getting denied a very small withdrawal amount to keep me functioning and recovered enough to go back to work. They're only goal is to deny withdrawals for their own benefit I'm sure, for example investments on your money that you need for health reasons. If i want to buy a house or pay rent, I probably would've been approved but not for a brain injury to help pay on my medical bills to keep me going. They are worst investment company but I pray they don't reap what they sow because what goes around comes around, so I'll just pray to God they grow a heart and sincere professionalism in this tough life.

Prudential is a know scam Insurance company

Prudential is an awful disability insurance company. I can’t even imagine what they’re like for life insurance. I broke my collarbone riding my bike, and my work provides fully disability insurance through Prudential. My work plan only cover 60% of my weekly salary. However, Prudential fails to mention that they will try to force you to apply for any state disability first. They’re currently trying to pay me less than 30% Super slimy…. To the point where I reached out to a lawyer. After doing research, apparently Prudential has a history of doing this. And they’re more of an investment company looking to get income versus pay out claims.

This company is all about money… I’m a young person trying to save for the future but we are in a pandemic so they closed my account due to a balance, I had 52.70 in the account but they charged me 50.00 for a transfer fee. I worked hard for that money and now they have 50 dollars of my hard earned money because I can only save that much!!!! Would Not Recommend………..

Just a head up to anyone considering…

Just a head up to anyone considering them. I rolled over my 401K after changing employer. The other company did not charge me anything for the rollover. I had to rollover from Prudential into another account because I got a new job and they used another company. Prudential took 50$ out of my 401K as a rollover fee. So yeah you are either stuck with them or you have to pay to move the money you earned.

Terrible customer service/refuse to provide forms

Terrible customer service! We experienced a death, have been trying to contact Prudential and report death, complete claim, and receive the benefits as a beneficiary. We have gotten the run around and 60 days later, multiple phone calls, still no claim form or communication from Prudential. All other companies have settled death benefits and accounts have been closed. We still have yet to get a claims form, which is not found on their website. I would give a zero rating if it was available

Why can't you give zero stars

Why can't you give zero stars? Prudential made a billing error a year ago and refunded premiums that we were not due. When after three weeks of phone calls trying to figure out why we got the refund, a claims supervisor said "keep the check"--Prudential will let you know if it wants the money back. Now, a year later, I'm trying to file a claim but it will not allow me to because the billing issue is unresolved. Not once in the past 12 months have we had ANY communication that the issue was outstanding. After two weeks this time, I finally got to the bottom of the issue and authorized a draft to return the money they wrongly refunded. However, it will be "three to five days" before they will respond and even then, there is no promise that they will immediately correct their mistake. Meanwhile, the insured--who has never missed a premium payment in years--suffers because they will not allow a claim to be initiated until the billing issue is resolved. They are the hold up in the resolution! Then, once they finally allow a claim to be made, it will be "30-45 days" for them to review the claim. What a crappy way to treat an 83 year old woman!

Prudential has hit rock bottom. Not tolerable.

Prudential has never been good, only barely serviceable. Now, I can't log in to their site and they won't do a thing. Phone calls through their offshore call center yields lies about what they are going to do. We've decided to pull the plug on our account, January 2022. Now waiting on the legal paperwork that Prudential needs to have signed and returned. That may, or more likely WILL NOT happen without an immense amount of frustration.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

My mother passed having a life insurance policy with Prudential. I got a call that looked to be from Florida but was in fact from MANILLA, asking for my FULL SOCIAL SECURITY number. I offered the last four and they insisted they needed the entire number to pay my benefit. The Philippians is the EPICENTER of cyber/phone crime, and who does Prudential get in bed with to abuse the bereaved survivors of their consumers? Unfkngbelieveable. I would NEVER do business with them again.

Only 401k provided by my employer

Only 401k provided by my employer, and they have been horrible to work with. Withdrawals are extremely limited and difficult to obtain. Truly an exhaustive experience jumping through all of their hoops to get funds to pay medical expenses. Had 6 surgeries in less than 2 years, and frankly dealing with Prudential was worse.

Prudential doesn't (long term) care about you

Prudential Long Term care phones have been unavailable on this day - 9/27/21 - for the better part of the day on the east coast, it's nearly 2pm. First time I've called on my LTC policy in over 8 years, and can't get through to even get into a holding que. Confidence level that I'll be able to access this policy when needed? Pretty much 0. But, I guess they don't have to care - they no longer sell these policies. The icing: some indicators say Prud has a better than 40% chance of bankruptcy. May be time to reassess LTC care even though I have a policy. **holy smokes, based on these comments for PRU the bankruptcy thing looks like it could be a slow motion train wreck already in progress**

Has anyone ever succeeded calling their…

Has anyone ever succeeded calling their 1-877-255-4262 number? I have tried and failed 6 times to get a six digit ID number. This company has more than $400 in an account that I cannot get from them. I sent them a registered letter and still got no response. I am going to log a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

This company sucks

This company sucks. I pay $6 a week and have for over 6 years at my job. Never once have I needed short term disability insurance until I contracted Covid. Through no fault of my own I have to quarantine for 10 days. Prudential won't even pay the first week that I am out. For the few days that they actually will pay I'm getting a pathetic $185!!!! A week and a halfs pay worth of pay lost and they are gonna pay me a paltry $185. Not to mention it isn't even going to get paid to me until a full week when I get back from work! I need the money now and more of it. It's a complete scam and rip off of people's hard earned money. I've paid this company nearly 2K over 6 years and the one time I submit a claim for covid they make me wait 2 weeks and offer me a sliver. I'm super pissed.

Do not do business with this company

Do not do business with this company. All public contact is through an overseas call center. Call representatives are tightly scripted and can offer no genuine assistance. They have no authority to handle any issue and they cannot put you in contact with any US representative with the ability to address problems. It is a system designed for evading responsibility to policy holders. If you encounter any claims issues, even those caused by Prudential's total incompetence, no one will help you. You are more likely have a positive experience with a robocaller selling extended car warranties then you are dealing with Prudential's huge insurance scam.
