Buyer beware

Buyer beware — be very careful before signing anything with Pueblo Bonito’s sales/ownership program.

My husband and I attended a Pueblo Bonito sales presentation while in Cabo and signed paperwork for an ownership/timeshare-type purchase. After reviewing the documents, we decided to cancel within the written cancellation period.

Our own contract stated that consent could be revoked in writing within 5 business days after execution. We sent written cancellation/revocation within that period. Despite that, Pueblo Bonito has not honored our cancellation or refunded us, and we have had to fight this through our credit card company.

The most concerning part is that other documents were worded as “irrevocable” or “non-refundable,” even though the financing/contract paperwork itself referenced a 5-business-day cancellation right. In my opinion, that is extremely confusing and unfair to consumers.

The resort itself may be beautiful, but I would strongly warn anyone considering the sales presentation or ownership program: do not rely on verbal promises, do not sign under pressure, and read every page carefully before leaving. If you do sign and want to cancel, do it immediately in writing and save proof of delivery.

We canceled within the allowed period and are still being forced to fight for our money back. I would not recommend purchasing any ownership, membership, or timeshare product from Pueblo Bonito based on our experience.

It should be a negative star

If Zero was an option I would happily give them a negative… since July I have had nothing but the issues from booking and up to 2 weeks before my trip… I called the original reservation site and was told on multiple occasions that I had no balance although I saw on the website that I did. I then was told to reach the hotel directly to confirm if I had a balance. I reached out to the hotel and confirmed that I had a balance. I paid the remaining balance and the next day the HOTEL tried to charge me an additional $1019.00 I was advised that the hotel accidentally refunded the original payment I paid in July “ I paid through uplift” and randomly charged my card for the refunded amount. I contacted the hotel again and reach out to a rep named “Carlos” which was disgustingly rude. Instead of hearing what I had to say he continued to cut me off trying to give me another number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and he said that he refused that I needed to hang up dial the number he provide and ask for a sup. And as of today I still show as of today a zero amount due
