Biggest regret ever!

Biggest regret ever!
I purchased 5 of the 2.4kWh batteries in 2019. All except one have developed a fault. Two have been replaced under warranty but they have refused to replace the other two. That is an 80% failure rate with thousands of pounds lost. How can any company, in good faith, continue to sell this shocking product?

Appalling service

I purchased a Pylontech battery system to go with my solar panels and Solis inverter two years ago. The battery stopped working middle of November and it reported to the customer services department to deal with (under guarantee). Firstly they would not allow the battery to be sent to them as they already had a full quota to deal with and they were not allowed to accept more due to storage. It was picked up the last week of November and having called several times been told it is in a queue waiting to be checked. After two weeks the battery was tested and a fault found and a part was required which needed to be shipped from China. I am now told this will not be delivered till January, over two months since it broke down. The level of service is appalling and I would not have purchased this system if I had known about their service issues.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID PYLONTECH (PYLONTECH DA EVITARE ASSOLUTAMENTE)

I'm writing this review after 9 years of troubled use and now finding myself in a disastrous situation. I purchased three Pylontech Extra2000 batteries in 2016, paired with a Solax inverter. The batteries had a 5-year warranty. Exactly in the 6th year, the "master" battery stopped working, so I was forced to purchase a new battery. This time, they gave me a US2000. In August of this year, 2025, exactly in its third year of operation, this last battery stopped working. After frequent contact with customer service directly in China, they finally decided to replace the US2000 under warranty, only to send me a US2000C. I had my technician install it, and he realized there was a problem because the US2000C battery beeped. When I reported this issue to the customer service in China, they candidly told me that the US2000C couldn't communicate with the other Extra2000s, and therefore I had to purchase two more US2000C batteries. In the past nine years, I've already purchased four batteries from them, and now I need to buy two more if I want to continue storing energy safely. So, they make batteries that quickly turn out to be defective and that don't communicate with the ones previously manufactured, and they take absolutely no responsibility for the inconvenience they cause to customers. A truly terrible experience. I hope you, who are reading this review, will take this information to heart and avoid being scammed by this company.

Absolutely the worst service I have…

Absolutely the worst service I have ever had from a supplier. I live on a farm and we are completely off grid. All very well until the Pylontech batteries that power the house start playing up and we have only a diesel generator as backup. On one occasion it took 5 weeks for them to replace a faulty battery under warranty. On another occasion a software update caused two batteries to stop functioning- you’d think a simple fix through some sort of diagnostic device. No - three days and counting. I’m still waiting.
I am stuck with these for now but when replacement time comes I will NEVER use Pylontech.

Bad BMS? warranty was eventually honored

I bought 3 Pylontech batteries for my off grid setup and 2 of them stopped working after less than 5 years. I'm supposed to provide data from the batteries, but the batteries don't connect to the newest software with which to extract said data. Neither Pylontech nor the supplier gave me a solution for this problem so I am stuck with no way of reading out the data to support a warranty claim. I have opened the batteries and they both have cells that were expanded due to overcharging. My inverter has a specific setting for Pylontech and automatically migrates all relevant settings. However, it appears these settings were set to high. Also Pylontech is supposed to have a BMS and therefore this really shouldn't happen. I suspect their BMS is BS (it is in a way, but also the voltronics inverter isn't great)
Additional info: As a last ditch effort I contacted Pylontech's customer service myself. I got a useful reply immediately, was told to disconnect the batteries and take fotos. The fotos were forwarded to their technical dept. And after 3 weeks or so I got 2 new batteries delivered to my address. So they honored the warranty. Moral of the story? Persist! I won't connect them to my current inverter. I'm replacing it with Victron inverters that can do a much better job keeping the batteries properly charged, not overcharged.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! No support and no warranty. The extended warranty offered on line by registration for your new batteries is a complete scam.
The are plenty of other battery suppliers out there Fogstar for example.
JUST AVOID PYLONTECH.

Don’t fit Pylontech batteries …

I have a four battery pack of Pylontech US2000 batteries to give 9.6 kWh storage. Well within the guarantee period my Solarman inverter showed a series of overvolt and then undervolt conditions on one battery. Rebooting the suspect battery regained about 30% capacity shown by the SOC (state of charge) lights. My supplier UPS Solar have worked with me to try to bring the battery to a fully functioning state. They sent SD cards to assist the inverter but all that did was wipe the history! Eventually I removed the battery only to find the casing badly warped and distorted. The battery is scrap value only.
Pylontech take no responsibility whatsoever and refuse to replace the battery.
I am told there is no effective agency in the UK to handle claims.
I am stuck with three functioning batteries but paid for four.

I had 7 Pylontech Us2000c batteries having always lots of issues and errors. Due to the setting the effective availability of energy is much lower than what declared. After a couple of years they stopped working. Trying to reach their assistance is impossible, the batteries are trash now.

Pylontech where are you?

We are a professional designer / supplier / installer in Australia and the response from Pylontech is non-existent and unprofessional. We have multiple systems with major degradation and cell imbalance issues with zero support to replace under warranty.
We will not be purchasing these batteries ever again.

The guarantee is worthless AVOID!!

The batteries began to fail after only about two years. My engineers tried many different ways to fix issues - the inverter (SOLIS) kept sending me reports of problems with code 2015. Then we had other codes and the batteries kept shutting down. My engineers tried many
times to raise tickets with Pylontech, but no answer. The call centre don’t even answer and I’m left with out batteries on my solar system fitted only 3 years ago.
I’m now having to replace these dud batteries at my own expense at £1,000’s
AVOID THEM IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET SCAMMED BY CHEAP RUBBISH BATTERIES

Had solar panels installed a few years…

Had solar panels installed a few years ago with 2 2.4kwh pylontech batteries. I filled out the registration for the extend warranty after they were installed. The first battery failed around a year later of which the installer replaced. The second battery failed around 4/5 years later. Just but looking at how it had swollen you could tell that it had failed so I contacted pylontech about a replacement under their warranty. Well several emails and months later after them requesting that I make up a lead and install software to download a fault diagnosis for the failure that I could not achieve, then them sending me out a lead that I still couldn’t connect to the battery due to most likely it had completely failed. Well after all this messing about they then informed me that it’s not their problem and that I need to contact the inverter manufacturer about the failed battery. If this was the case then they should have clearly stated that many emails and many months ago or are they just trying to fob me off.
DON’T TOUCH THESE BATTERIES AND DON’T LET ANYONE INSTALL THEM ON YOUR SYSTEM AS THEY WILL FAIL AND PYLONTECH DON’T HONOUR THIER SO CALLED EXTEND WARRANTY.

I bought two US 2000 batteries 3 years ago, one of them went out, unfortunately for fear that it would catch fire I opened it, the batteries were completely swollen, the assistance in Italy did not consider replacing them because they said that they had lost the warranty.... which brand to avoid

Avoid Pylontech.

I have a Redback SH5000 inverter with 2 x Pylontech US2000 batteries installed by SAE group in 2019.

These batteries come with a 7 year warranty and have been installed for less than 5 years. Both batteries have completely stopped working and one has ‘swollen’ which makes it potentially dangerous. I have just been informed by Redback that warranty approval by Pylontech is expected to take up to 6 weeks, only after this time can they organise a replacement leaving me with no battery backup likely for the next 2 months +. One of these batteries will be the second replacement after failing around 1 year after install and being replaced under warranty already. Seems to be a high rate of failure on these products hence extended wait times for warranty replacement. Given the chance again I would not have splashed out thousands of dollars on this brand.

No customer service

Returned 2 faulty 11 month old batteries to my supplier 2 months ago and haven’t had a replacement or refurbishment back. Pylontech’s 1st excuse was, they’re moving premises, 2nd excuse, we can’t find a courier to pick them up, 3rd excuse, our premises are not big enough to pick all the batteries up. I’ve never heard so many excuses in my life. Customer service is an absolute joke.
