DO NOT GET A POLICY HERE

I used residentshield for renter's insurance which is under QBE - do NOT get a policy with them. I was on hold for almost an hour and then when I finally get to someone, the person was very rude, cut me off mid-sentence constantly, tried to think/tell me he knows more about my apartment lease than I do, and then hung up on me.

I have been trying to file a claim for over a month and every time I have called I get placed on hold with no one to answer. I work Monday through Friday and cannot wait on hold all day long.

Horrible service

This company refused to renew our policy after we had to use our insurance for a water leak. We had one other claim that we didn't follow through with because it was a small problem that we didn't realize would be an easy fix. Dealing with this company for the last three months has been such a headache and I'm actually glad I need to find a different company. If you bundle through progress don't pick QBE.

Horrible / Insensitive

I had a life experience in 6 months I will never forget and hope never happens again. I had Qbe since 2008. NEVER filed a claim until Jan 2022. First they never answer the phone. Finally I was assigned a claim adjuster that was so rude, I don't know how she is still working there. I thought the calls were recorded for quality insurance, guess not. If so she would be FIRED. She asked me insulting questions. "So are u homeless, are u sleeping on the floor, is your refrigerator empty, do u work? How long? How long have u been employed, do u receive a pay check, how often, how much is ur paycheck, Does your mom work, how much is her social security, how are you eating are you eating canned foods,. do you rely on other people to take care of you. That's just a few it went on and on and on. After she found out I owned another property in conversation, in a totally different state that's when she started denying me my rights to my policy I pay for a policy and I should be able to claim on certain parts of the policy like loss of use she would not let me claim on any loss of use no place to stay while they're working on the home anything of that nature. After that she never answered the phone. I would have to call the sup which she never returned calls either. I had to end up speaking with any claim rep that I can get a hold to. They are unprofessional I would not recommend this company to anyone . Hopefully the company will contact me and I will let you know my experience because there's more

This is a fraudulent insurance company

This is a fraudulent insurance company. They breached their contractual obligation to pay claims in an ethical manner. Please do yourself a favor and purchase your insurance elsewhere for your peace of mind. Plan to file a suit against them.

Trash vessel insurance

Trash vessel insurance, terrible company

That's the only words we could give to this company. If you are a ship owner, or ship manager, please ignore this company if you are looking to buy insurance for your good vessels. They take weeks to review and give you answers. Your cargo will be cancelled before you have the answers from QBE. Time is money, and QBE loves owners/charterers losing as much as possible :)

And yes, other clubs do all the jobs faster than QBE. Much much faster.

We have had a horrible experience

Summary: This is a horrible insurance company. Do yourself a favor and avoid them.

Details: We got QBE insurance for our home through our car insurance company Progressive. We have been with Progressive + QBE for more than 5 years and did not file a single claim (we maintain our home well). In Summer 2021, we have had a huge storm that brought in an unprecedented amount of rain and we have had a significant leak that damaged our second and first floor wall. Our contractor advised us to file a claim and so we did. Troubles started almost immediately. They took forever to respond and we have had to call them repeatedly for them to take action. After several weeks of calling, they set up an appointment with an assessor, which never showed. After another round of calls, they got an assessor, who gave us a date in two months. This second assessor did come. After receiving the asssement, QBE approved the claim and sent us a letter of approval. They told us to start the repairs and also sent an email notification to do so.

So we did. During the repairs, our contractor found some additional damage and we contacted them to instruct us how to proceed. At this point, they wrote an email saying that our claim was never approved, even though we have an approval letter in our hands.

Bottomline: it is rare that you receive such horrible service from a company that you have been with for so long, especially, when you have never made a claim before and especially when your claim is related to a rare weather event. This company accomplished all that and also provided the worst possible support throughout, requiring us to spend countless hours on the phone with them just to accomplish the very basic things that they ought to be doing automatically.

I would give them ZERO stars if I…

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I REALLY hope someone actually reads this. QBE 's relationship to Progressive is giving Progressive a bad name. QBE is who Progressive steered us toward for Home coverage when we signed on for Auto and RV with Progressive. The reason we have now left Progressive coverage for auto was because of the need to bundle insurance with another provider once QBE so rudely dropped us after jumping through every hoop they required for renewal.Over 5 years of coverage with QBE. NEVER missed a payment, not even a bit late. Never filed a claim. This is a problem for Progressive as well since Prog. is the company responsible for connecting us to QBE for Homeowner's insurance. We trusted Prog. to recommend a good company. QBE has twice cited a list of stupid reasons why they would not renew after sending them volumes of photos and videos using their software app that they requested I use to provide them with a complete home inspection: I.E. "property looks unkept"...we live in the country where not every single square inch of lawn gets mowed like in the suburbs! We have these things called Weeds.
"siding needs painting"...It's Cedar siding for god's sake! It weathers with age. It is NOT painted and won't be. Stupid. And several other reasons not based in reality, which any appraiser could have clearly seen if in person. Completely impersonal "evaluation" of our property. I will never go with them again. Ever. And I will voice that to anyone looking for Homeowner's coverage. We would have stayed with Progressive for Auto if it had not been necessary to bundle with another company. Prog. should find another carrier to recommend to its customers. Avoid QBE like Covid!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would

If I could give less than one star, trust me I would.

QBE is an AWFUL company to work with, especially considering they are supossed to be the ones to help when something bad happens to you or your home.

I filed a claim with QBE on hail damage to my roof on August 19. When the claim was filed we were told my father in law was still on the policy. We asked he be removed from the policy and then filed our claim. (come to find out he was removed 5 days later, and the claim was filed first)

I did not hear from anyone at QBE until 09/10/2021, almost one month after the inital claim.

I reached out multiple times to the rep whos name and contact information I was given at the time of the claim during those 21 days, leaving multiple voicemails and emails, and recieving no response.

On September 10th a new rep called my husband. He let them know that I would be the point of contact and gave her my email address and phone number. My husband called to let me know this and said to expect an email, the email was recieved. The email said someone would be in touch with me in 24-48 hours to schedule the adjustment. Two days passed and no word from QBE or the adjustor. The same email was resent to me on September 13th and I responded letting the rep know there was no contact yet with the adjuster. On September 15th, I responded again letting the rep know there was still no contact with the adjustor. On September 16th I still had not heard from the rep, and sent another email and left a voicemail. On September 20th, I recieved a response from the QBE rep letting me know that my father in law had been contacted multiple times and listed multiple dates. I called in to speak with my rep who was not available and ended up chatting with another rep who was kind enough to put a note on the account letting the QBE Reps know AGAIN that all contact must go through me and my father-in-law is not on the policy. Additionally, that day, I spoke with both the rep and her manager. Her manager was able to give me the adjustors name and contact information. I called the adjustor and got the appointment set, he let me know that he had just heard for the first time that morning that he had been calling the wrong number for almost a month.

Today September 30th, I recieved an email from my rep refencing a conversation we did not have and letting me know my claim is being closed. Shocked, I called her, her manager, and QBE claims department to try and get this resolved. The claims department helped confirm my father in law is not on the policy but for some reason he is still on the claim, which is why they have been contacting him. At NO point should he have ever been on this claim; we started by removing him from the policy.

So during this process someone not on my policy has been recieving infromation about it without my knowledge.

At this point on the phone with QBE Claims I'm told all of the managers are in a meeting and that I can not speak to one at this time. I'm given another supervisors number and told they've been in meetings for a couple days, it could be some time before I get ahold of someone.

As a result of my claim being closed for NO REASON, I'm calling my roofer and my adjuster to beg them to keep the appointments, while I get this sorted out. My adjuster lets me know he has no knowledge that the claim has been closed and that we are still on for our apointment time.

My QBE rep calls me 4 hours after I intially called her, and begins to tell me that because my adjustor put in a $0.00 for the estimate, the claim was closed. Then follows up that call with a different excuse as to why the claim was closed. Stating by email that the claim was closed due to a voicemail that "someone" left, 9 days ago, (note - QBE doesnt know who it was, and wont present the voicemail) but it was enough to close my claim.

While responding to that email, I recieve a call from my reps manager. I looped in my husband who was experiencing confusion after all of this, and we spoke to him together. The manager couldn't have cared less, when the manager asked my husband if there was anything that he could do, my husband asked for an apology for the headache and reassurance that less mistakes would happen and that this would be a priority and concluded in a timely manner. The manager responded with no remorse, no apology and only stated it will get finished when it gets finished.

AVOID this company at ALL COSTS.

WORST COMPANY we have ever dealt with

WORST COMPANY we have ever dealt with. We have been dealing with a flood that occurred in July and they have yet to mail the first check to start putting our home back together. Our Claim person Phetsakhone Khouanlak called me to let me know she is extremely busy and will get to our claim at some point (I still have the VM she left for proof). The first check was supposedly mailed on 8-26 but then it was rejected and so have the other two checks they were mailing. I have called her Manager Richard Neal four times and left messages because it goes straight to voicemail and he has never returned my call in two weeks.
Called again today 9-16-2021 spoke to a customer service agent and then she tried to get me over to her manager Ashley Stokes and it went to voicemail. The Best part is our claim person is out and they don't have anyone else assigned to cover her work.

Failure to Issue an Insurance Certificate

I renewed my Business Insurance with QBE on 20 August 2021. I still have not received my Certificate of Insurance. I have repeatedly requested it, via my broker but my broker is having the same difficulty with QBE. I need this Certificate for business purposes.
The problem is compounded by the fact that I cannot find any easy way to contact QBE.

An absolutely risible performance by QBE. It should not be that difficult to issue an Insurance Certificate. Get a a grip.

4 months ago driver insured by QBE has driven in my back as I stopped by the junction. Case is under dispute as I stopped at the junction. They will do everything to don’t pay out. I had to spend £6k to repair my car. Everyone says that this is straight forward case as obviously the one who didn’t stop is in fault. Well, not for themZ

QBE REFUSES TO REPLACE THE BULLNOSES RUINED BY WATERCORP BURST PIPE AND WANTS TO FIT DIFFERENT TILES AND COLOURS THAT DONT MATCH TO SOME RANDOM TILES

I HAVE ALL MY INVESTMENT PROPERTIES AND CAR AND HOME INSURANCES THROUGH THIS I THOUGHT A VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY. 2-3 MONTHS AGO THE WATERCORP HAD A LEAK OUTSIDE MY PROPERTY AND IT RUINED MY VERY EXPENSIVE POOL AREA. ITS TAKEN NEARLY 3 MONTHS AFTER I DID ALL THE RUNNING AROUND WITH THE CLAIMS OFFICER AT WATERCORP TO GET QBE TO LOOK AT THIS CLAIM AS YOU CANT CLAIM THROUGH DUE TO THE REINSTATEMMET CLAUSE IN WATER CORP LEGISLATION FOR QBE TO LOOK AT SORTING MY RUINED POOL. IVE BEEN TOLD NOW THAT THE BULL NOSE ISNT MADE ANY MORE AND THAT THE INSURANCE WILL PAY ME $90 PER DAMAGED TILE YET THEY WANT $3000-$3500 FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE BULLNOSE AS THEY WONT REPLACE IT ALL AS IT ALL ISNT DAMAGED AND THEY DONT CARE THAT IT WILL LOOK AN ABSOLUTE MESS WITH DIFFERNT COLOURED / TEXTURED TILES AROUND MY POOL. I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT WATERCORP IS THE ONE THEY HAVE TO TAKE THE CLAIM UP WITH BUT MY POOL SHOULD BE THE SAME AS IT WAS BEFORE THE DAMAGE OCCURED. THEY DONT CARE. SO IN SHORT I WAS FLOODED OUT AND ITS GOING TO COST ME THE EXCESS $500 AND $3-$3500 TO HAVE MY POOL BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THE INCIDENT. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO CHECK THIS OUT WITH THEIR INSURANCE AS YOU MAY BECOME THE LOSER IN THIS AS i AM EVEN THOUGH YOU PAY $1000'S IN INSURANCE THEY TREAT YOU THIS WAY (2Q0022915)
just had an update i been told as its their policy as my insurance only replaces the damages i have 3 options
1.leave the broken bullnoses and hope the cracked slabs doesn't cut my grandkids feet
2. replace the broken ones with a totally different slab mine are brown the replacements are white
3. or pay $3500 dollars and have the bullnose replaced at my cost
what should i do?????????
why should i pay $3500for a problem caused by the water corps burst pipe off my property to fix something that wasn't broken this is ridiculous

Terrible company. They paid me back my premium after countless hours on the phone with very poor communication on their part. Now 18 months later they seem to have changed their mind and say no one was at fault therefore I need to pay my premium back. Ridiculous, terrible business.

Very sad to hear of the closing of Notary Express due to QBE not renewing their insurance. I used Notary twice and they were reliable, efficient and good value for money.

This is an unfair change from QBE who are seemingly happy to squeeze out the smaller companies.
