Wish I’d never got involved with them

They sold me a Merc C class estate LS15JXA, it should never have left the forecourt and wasn’t road worthy, within 50 miles warning lights came on the dash, other faults developed and I had to stop driving it within 2 weeks, got an independent inspection done which showed the car was riddled with faults and had signs that it had been tampered with, they said it had a full service history but it never materialised. Whilst they come across as helpful they are actually anything but. No sign of contrition or apology, they did say they would fix the car at a local garage to me, sadly it was someone I knew who told me all they had asked him to do was a bypass of the major fault and not fix it or address any of the minor faults. I rejected the car which went back to them 5 weeks ago on a trailer, still not got my money back and they want to deduct fees for damages and faults which were there when I bought the car. Don’t trust them, they have been incredibly slippery

Avoid This Dealer – Misleading Sales & No After-Sales Support

I strongly advise against purchasing a vehicle from this dealer. My experience has been incredibly frustrating, marked by misleading sales tactics, a lack of accountability, and poor after-sales service.

Before purchase, I was assured the car had been serviced and checked and was “ready to be driven away”. However, after agreeing to buy the car, I was suddenly told that it actually hadn’t been serviced or checked and that I would either need to wait or return on another day if I wanted this done. Additionally, the vehicle had not undergone a proper safety inspection and had damage not shown in the online photos.

Shortly after purchase, the vehicle developed serious transmission issues. While these issues were theoretically covered under warranty, the company provided no meaningful support. I was told I could return the vehicle—but only at my own expense—and was given an appointment two weeks later to drop it off. Alternatively, I was told I could take it to a local garage at my own expense for a diagnostic, after which management would review and consider repair costs.

Wanting to resolve the issue faster, I paid for the diagnostic and sent the report to the company. At that point, customer service and management stopped responding entirely. Left with a vehicle that was unsafe to drive and no means of getting it back to them, I had no choice but to pay for the essential repairs myself. Once the work was completed, the company refused to contribute, claiming it wasn’t done at their garage and wasn’t pre-approved—despite their own lack of engagement.

To make matters worse, the inspection also revealed other safety and maintenance issues that were not reported in their AA multipoint check. After-sales support is virtually non-existent—they refuse to answer phone calls and will only communicate via text. Their basic warranty offers less protection than statutory consumer rights, and they repeatedly refer to it in an attempt to avoid their legal obligations after selling a faulty vehicle.

Be wary of the positive reviews—this dealer actively encourages customers to leave a review immediately after taking payment, before any real issues can surface. Think critically about what you read.

I’ve bought used cars before and encountered problems, but reputable dealers resolve issues fairly and professionally. This dealer does not. If you're lucky, you might buy a car without problems—but if anything goes wrong, expect stress, expense, and zero support.

Avoid this dealer.

After sales care absolutely terrible

After sales care absolutely terrible. Any problems with the car , you are on your own. They try to hide any defects or faults before the sale and take zero reaponsibility after the sale. Stay away from this dealer.

I recently bought a car from Quality Part X, and while the vehicle is in mint condition, I’m quite upset with the service I received. The team assured me that the service had been carried out, but after further inspection, it was clear that no fresh service had been performed. For a company that prides itself on quality, I expected them to follow through with their promises and ensure that the vehicle was fully serviced before delivery. It's disappointing that they didn't take this extra step. While the car itself is great, I can't help but feel let down by the lack of attention to detail when it comes to the service.

Avoid like the plague

I bought a Mercedes C220 from this company on 12th September’24. On day one it was clear the turbo had failed, the brakes were awful, the headlight bulbs were badly installed and it had the wrong luggage cover.

I took it back the next day, and never saw it again. It took them EIGHT WEEKS to replace the turbo, and they never even bothered looking at the other faults. After 12 weeks, and absolutely no sign of the logbook they promised they’d processed, I called the loan company to cancel the deal.

They had lent me a ropey old Toyota Prius as a courtesy car, which had two slow punctures and no insurance. And they threatened to charge me £100 per day for this ‘courtesy’ car until I returned it.

Thankfully the loan company were great, and got my deposit back and refunded all loan payments, then cancelled the loan.

I later found out that Quality Part X Ripley Ltd was dissolved 5 days after I bought the car. But they also trade as Quality Part X Surbiton Ltd out of exactly the same premises in Ripley High St.

This firm is to be avoided at all costs.

Beware of this garage

I am adding my terrible experience here too. I bought a second-hand car for my twin daughters who are learning to drive. I was fooled that this would be a safe and responsible garage to buy from as it is an AA approved garage. I doubt that now.
Before I drove it away I noticed the driver wing mirror didn't move up or down just side to side and the 'sales person' told me it was not 'necessary' as there were other mirrors. They could fix it for a cost he said. Honestly, he spoke to me as if I were an idiot. But perhaps I was. Because since then, the passenger seat stuck and didn't move, the radio wiring cuts in and out so doesn't work, but most alarmingly the thermostat in the engine is an open circuit and leaking coolant over the engine causing the fan to run permanently and damaging the engine. For two young girls learning to drive this could be catastrophic.
I took the car to a reputable local garage and they helped me diagnose the issue and told me that as it was still under warranty I should take it back to Quality PX Ripley to be fixed.
I was met by a rude, aggressive, unknowledgeable man who claimed he was the manager, then claimed he wasn't when I pushed this. I was told I couldn't leave the car there as I hadn't asked to leave it there, even though the warranty said (in hand writing) that it would only be fixed under £300 'back to base' - ie I had no choice but to get it there.
Now they are arguing over the damage intimating that driving the 2 miles to get it there did the damage (wrong) and that I have driven 1400 miles in 42 days which is also, they imply, why the thermostat has gone. Given that my daughters are learners, and I take them out twice a week in the car and do approximately 20 miles, that's actually an impossibility.

This garage and the men who run it should be ashamed of the way they treat women. They are misogynistic and sexist and I call them out on it.

I await to find out if they will come good and do the right thing by fixing the car.

UPDATE : They did fix the thermostat, although I'm yet to pick up the car. However, my trust in them is at zero, and their tone was still aggressive and rude on the phone to inform me they'd done it, stating that the thermostat is not part of the engine... yet the engine can't run without it.... so I will never be taking it back (if it is fixed) nor will I ever use them again. I advise others never to use them either.

Selling unsafe cars! AVOID!

This review is regarding the Ripley branch.
The sale itself was quick and easy, however…

Driving the car away there were issues immediately with the tyre and door sensors, aerial missing on roof and whistling noise on drivers side. I was also given wrong documents and still have not received the log book for this car. I brought the car in June and have taken it back twice to be fixed, only issues that were fixed on those visits were sensors and aerial. They claimed they test drove it for 80 miles and could not hear the noise. When driving it back home the brakes were grinding so loud and a rattling noise from the back. Completely unsafe to drive my 3 month old in.

I took the car to a local garage and they advised that the brake pads and discs were completely worn and it was metal on metal and there is no way this would have passed an MOT, yet this car came with a fresh MOT and NO advisories for repairs required to the brakes.

I got this repaired immediately as I needed a vehicle to take my baby to hospital and doctor appointments and sent the invoice to the dealership for reimbursement as the car is under warranty.

They have refused to pay it saying it was not authorised and I should have driven an unsafe car almost 30 miles for them to look at it a 3rd time!

I will now be starting court proceedings to claim the funds back. I strongly feel that I have been misled this seller as they did not fully disclose the issues.

beware the useless warranty

purchased an electric car from this company 2 months ago and the charging access cap will not open. Quality PX think this is perfectly acceptable! The fact the car is now useless does phase them and have completely washed their hands of the problem. The warranty they offer is good only for certain engine and gearbox parts, anything else they simply wash their hands of and its down to you to fix any other problem, even if the car is not fit for purpose. I have bought many cars from this company thinking they were a genuinely good company but will never buy from them again. Beware cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for, in this case very bad aftercare

Avoid - Untrustworthy

I bought a Mitsubishi Outlander from this company in April. I only used them as they were "AA approved". Before I could pick it up, I was told it needed an inspection. There were a few faults which they agreed to fix (replace a damaged internal cover, a broken fog light and the shark antenna). The panel never got replaced, the fog light fitted did not have a running light and the antenna fitted was a cheap FM antenna (car has DAB system) which won't stay on the roof by it's self (it is held on with insulating tape). When I complained, I was asked to take pictures and e-mail them which I did. I have not had a response... In addition to the agreed repairs, one tyre was barely legal and the brake pads were low and the discs all round were excessively corroded as well. I thought this would have been picked up in the inspection but was told they were legal so will not be replaced. I will be reporting them to the AA as I am surprised this company still have their approval.

I cannot begin to tell you how awful…

I cannot begin to tell you how awful our experience has been.
We bought the car, collected late one evening and on the drive home we noticed the cabin heater wasn’t working. Having googled it we knew it was a common Mitsubishi fault.
We called the next day to get it booked in for repairs.
We had also noticed the bodywork they had done on it was pretty botched and lumpy and that the tyres were way more worn than described in the MOT although we blamed ourselves for this for not checking the tyres thoroughly.
They did not diagnose the problem for TWO WEEKS. During the meantime, they had been driving it to and from a garage in Chessington as they ‘didn’t have the tools to look at it’.
They were unable to tell me what the fault was, nor were they able to supply any inspection paperwork or diagnostic notes despite asking in writing twice.
They said they would need to order a new 4 way valve, but that this part could only be purchased from overseas and would take another month to arrive.
I told them at this point that I wanted to return the car, or that I wanted to be offered a courtesy car or like for like swap. He told me to leave it with him and he would contact Mitsubishi directly for advice and not to give up yet.
He called us back and said that Mitsubishi had a part but would take a week to arrive.
Fine, we thought. Give them the chance to fix it so we collected the car and brought it home. We noticed a new huge chip in the windscreen, the radio was playing up, the automatic boot opener wasn’t working and the charger they supplied for the car didn’t even fit the vehicle!
I contacted them to tell them that we now needed to return the car, at which point they said that I had no right to reject as I had accepted the repair on the cabin heater.
They made our lives a living hell, stretching across almost 2 months.
They told me that they would be charging me mileage plus an admin fee despite me having only driven the car to and from the garage.
We opened a dispute with our finance company and were categorically told NOT to return the car until it was investigated.
The salesman continued to text me pressuring me into returning the car as he had a potential buyer on it.
The salesman contacted me again to ‘at least return the car charger’ that they had supplied as he had a buyer on the car it ACTUALLY belonged to - when I said no due to it being a 32 mile round trip, he ignored me.
Our finance team eventually agreed for us to return the vehicle, we dropped it off - done and dusted.
But no.
The finance company contacted us to say that the garage had said they did not agree to the return of the car despite having sorted the V5 with them, untaxing the vehicle and changing ownership of the vehicle.
The garage had also readvertised the car for sale on their website despite being aware the car needed substantial repairs.
I believe it has now been sold on again without being repaired.
I also had text messages proving that this was the case.
We had already bought another car elsewhere at this point as we had no family car for 2 months so we were paying 2 lots of finance on the car.
They also kept our £300 deposit.
Avoid at all costs.

Quality Part X Ripley - Car Dealership
Car Dealership, High St, The Green, Ripley, Woking GU23 6BB
Waited over 2 weeks for a bmw I put a deposit on, they said they were fixing a towbar and doing a fresh mot, plus their 39 point check ( although not too sure what exactly was checked) after I had paid, and was about to drive it away I was told there's an error on the onboard computer but everything is fine, I went to drive off and it had 5 miles of diesel left in it!! when I got halfway to the petrol garage I could hear a rattle underneath and the brakes were juddering like no one's business, I messaged them and they have completely ignored me, I am now reporting them to everyone I can report them to too, Steer clear, 'bodge it and leggit' all I kept hearing is how much it cost to replace to tow bar and how much they had undersold it!! Hardly when it's going to cost me in excess of £1k, oh and today I found the funny smell in the car too, it appears I have water ingress in the boot too!! How did this pass an mot with warped brakes and an error code I wonder 🤔 it's these people that give car dealers a bad name!!

Are they knowingly scamming people to keep deposits.

Saw a range of cars and my daughter liked a Nissan Qashqai. Was told it will be fully serviced and is a good car and left a deposit to collect 7 days later so it could have a full PDI check over. We collected it a week later and within 10 minutes of driving off the forecourt the engine warning light came on and start/stop failure also came up, would have turned round and gone back if I had seen her message to me before getting home. Got home and I did a code scan which also showed other errors on DPF and HVAC. Complained within a few hours and was asked to drive it for a few days in case the battery needed charging. Charged it myself and car got worse over 48 hours with limp mode coming on and losing power. She dropped it off two days later (with me) rejected and requested refund, bit of heated arguing. Lots of back and forth on texts then refund was given and £299 unlawfully retained. As my daughter works in Law they got a letter of notice to proceed to small claims court and on the day she was due to process the court action along with out of pocket costs they paid up.

Get cars fully inspected and make sure you know your consumer rights as you can reject any vehicle within 14 days if it's not fit for purpose and sold as good. Dont be worried about taking them to small claims court, the more people do this the more they might stop scamming people.
Avoid and go to a more reputable garage.

For anyone using this dealership please…

For anyone using this dealership please be very cautious. The checks they advised that are completed on all cars before you take them away is not true.

Once you discover a fault with the car or have any problems they become extremely aggressive and unhelpful.

I put all my faith into these guys to be very disappointed I am not one to post reviews just don't like to see people being scammed by what original looks like a general dealership

Update on my previous review

Update on my previous review.
My car was repaired 2 days later. They did everything they could to accommodate what I needed and fitted in with my timings for getting to work etc.
All in all, everything was dealt with to my satisfaction and I was offered a full refund on the car as another option - which I kindly declined because that car was meant for me. It was love at first sight! The guys were really polite and helpful too and sympathetic to my situation. So, a very good outcome.
Thank you 🤩
