Overall, excellent experiences with Rab. However, not certain what the “sales and use tax” is, which essentially doubles the usual sales tax. Never saw this coming.

Rab Downpour jacket in Pertex Sheild+
Rab Downpour jacket in Pertex Sheild+. It's a couple of years old now and it's been OK until last wash. I washed it as per the instructions at 30C with Nikwax Tech Wash, then Nikwax TX, then hung it to dry indoors (no tumble drier). It came out all pitted and crinkly, like a melted plastic bag. It looks terrible and doesn't work properly either as rain water gathers in the crinkles.
I contacted their customer support who basically just pretend not to understand what I'm writing. I hadn't even asked for a fix or refund or anything, I just thought they might be curious as to why their product is failing so spectacularly. But not, they're not.

Bought a Rab valliance for just under £300, for that price I expected more than a years use, the main zip has broken, the Velcro on the cuffs no longer hold and the coat certainly isn’t waterproof.
The first and last Rab coat I buy, overpriced and overrated

RAB jacket pocket repairs
I contacted RAB Repairs at their factory shop near Alfreton, Derbyshire, and they were really helpful.
The postage was simple and the repairs (they replaced both pockets in my jacket due to holes in them from keys) were repaired by Rachel who did a perfect job. The price was competitive too including postage.
A great philosophy of Repair/Reuse.

Outstanding Service
Omg! What can I say, Amazing, outstanding repair service. My favourite Rab jacket had scuff marks and holes on the one arm, due to a fall. A lovely lady called Rachel did an amazing job of replacing a panel. It looks brand new. Would highly recommend this repair service. I'm delighted!

What a great care and repair service…
What a great care and repair service Rab offer.
I regrettably ripped the sleeve on my Rab Microlight Apline jacket and thought the jacket was irrepairable, but then found that Rab offer a competitively priced repair service. It was a great service and so easy to send off my jacket. Having just had my jacket back, i am very pleased indeed. You’d never have known it was repaired and it’s like a brand new jacket once again. Thanks Rab - the after sales service is fabulous.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Logo flaked off after first wash, they replaced with completely different colour that didn't match the garment even though I'd specifically requested they replace with the same colour as the one it originally had. To make matters worse the new logo was not straight and they'd damaged fabric around it. Three emails and 2 calls unanswered!

Poorly Designed Pack + Indifferent Customer Servive
As a Christmas present I was given a Lowe Alpine pack which had a wire frame that was similar to those found on vintage A-frame rucksacks, but unlike these it lacked any proper means of supporting the pack away from the lower back. This resulted in an extremely uncomfortable carry with the rucksack frame being in direct contact with my back.
I contacted Rab customer support for suggestions on how to correct the issue (add-on waist belt?), they requested photographs of the pack and said they would pass on the issue to their designers.
And that, was the end of their customer support, apart from a ‘how did we do?’ survey in which I retold my story and marked them according, but they didn’t contact me.
From this I can only conclude that the company isn’t sufficiently concerned to manufacture well-designed equipment, and has an indifferent attitude to customer service.
Likely to purchase again? No.
Likely to recommend to friends and family? No.
UPDATE - Rab has eventually replied to all the poorly rated reviews on TrustPilot on the same day. In my case their response failed to identify that I had already contacted their customer services and they hadn’t resolved my problem.

Caveat Emptor
I found out about 60 days after I purchased the jacket that the zipper didn't work (I didn't try the zipper until then-just checked for fit before winter arrived). I tried to call RAB seven times during their stated business hours by phone and got the message to try back later as no one was available. I wrote to them instead and got an immediate response, which was to send the jacket in at my expense and, if it was clean enough (they charge $25 for a cleaning fee if it isn't), then they will consider whether they would help me out or not. Essentially, they do not honor their warranty. I was expecting them to ask for the old jacket back in exchange for a new one or a refund, but got the runaround instead. BTW, when I replied to their email with these concerns, I got no reply. needless to say, very unsatisfactory. I'd get better customer service at Wal Mart.

I had a broken zip
I had a broken zip, and when I phoned up to see if this was fixable, the gentleman was extremely helpful. I'm sure the repair will be as good as the customer service
Over 200€ Rab repair costs in 15 months !!!
I am very disappointed with my Rab down jacket. I bought a MYTHIC ULTRA DOWN JACKET. Very expensive, priced at over 450€! Yes, it is light and they are warm. But the outer material is extremely thin, the jacket is constantly getting rips and holes. I constantly have to send the jacket to the Rab repair service :-( After only 15 months I have spent over 200€ on Rab repairs. That is not acceptable for this price range!!! When I give a negative review of my Rab jacket on the Rab website and describe the problems including photos, the Rab service writes an email to my address and asks for more photos :-( I reply to this email, but my email cannot be sent to Rab because the Rab email is incorrect or not specified or an email server is connected in between. My negative review is not published on the Rab website. You only see positive reviews. I think, Rab sorts out negative reviews. --- I'll say it again and it's the truth: The MYTHIC ULTRA DOWN JACKET is not suitable for mountaineers (climping). The price for this jacket is too high. Poor material, too thin. This jacket tears very quickly and constantly gets holes. It's a jacket for city shopping Tours in the winter time, definitely not suitable for nature, climbing and mountains. This winter I had to send the jacket to Rab 2x for repairs. That's not acceptable. Over €200 repair costs for a €450 jacket in 15 months - that's not acceptable. I'll never buy a jacket from Rab again. AND the last Rab repair on my jacket took a long time, over 4 weeks. 1 repair was good, 1 repair was bad work. I had to start a new repair order immediately. Directly after returning. Over 4 weeks of waiting and now I have to send it back for repair. That's totally crazy. But what can I do, nothing. At Rab repairs... you can see the difference between the original material and the repair material. I don't think Rab repairs use 100% the same color material graphene. They use a similar gray. That's not great. I'm 60% satisfied with Rab repairs. But not 100%.

They don't make 'em like they used to …
I bought a Rab Kangri jacket just over two years ago. It, at the time, was the best decision I could have made for a replacement all-weather shell garment. Now, two years later, it looks like I will have to replace it. It has been looked after to the n'th degree. It has suffered no physical damage. It has always been washed/proofed in the recommended way using the recommended liquids ... but it is leaking in several areas and no longer fit for purpose. I am an OAP and not into mountain climbing or similar, but my regular walk is some 16 miles and - when weather permits - I could be doing that 3 or more times a week. I wear a rucksack over the jacket, but who would not be? I wear a 40 year old watch. I ride a 25 year old push-bike. But, in this day and age of technology for technology's sake; a top range - top money! - jacket will only last a couple of years.
Beyond disappointed ☹️

I have been a loyal Rab customer for many years. I replaced a waterproof jacket that was stolen with a Downpour Eco jacket. Whoever dreamt up that name is having a joke. The first time I wore it in the rain I was soaked. I sent pictures and the jacket back and was told it did not let water in when they tested it. 🤔
Again it happened and my underwear was soaked. I have lost complete faith in Rab and will not be buying anything else from them.

Great rainjacket and great service!
I bought a rainjacket 3 years ago. Now, the jacket was damaged. I contacted them and they quickly responded. I sent photos of the damaged jacket. The service worker Claudia was super friendly and sent me a new replacement immediately. I really like the rainjacket and the service was great!
Will not recommend ‘rab’
We purchased two jackets £420 on the description given on the website. Sadly this was misleading as the jackets do not keep us warm in normal activities. Customer services were contacted with the solution being ‘keep them and wear them in the spring and summer’! Hardly mountainous conditions. Waste of money will never buy or recommend ‘rab’
I would like to give a special mention…Harley
I would like to give a special mention to Harley, who exceeded my expectations today, by his prompt response to my request and the speed in which he found a solution. Excellent customer service.
The RAB repair service should serve as…
The RAB repair service should serve as a blueprint for every single manufacturer- efficient - fairly priced- timely turnaround…..which means I can enjoy my RAB for another few years without sending it to landfill. Awesome.
We'll see if it's worth it.
I haven't sent the jacket away for repair yet so I will change the review as long as it comes back great.
After chatting with a few shops in Glasgow that Rabs online store says will take and do repairs I gave up as the ones I asked had no idea what I was talking about. Online the person that emailed back was good, gave a link to the repair page and a non functional link to what should have been a full zip repair, not good.
After clicking on full zip repair I was happy to find a note saying that I qualified for free delivery, which for a £30 zip repair I was happy about. Turns out that was a heap of crap and got charged the £8 return label fee, which the cost of the package being sent I'd rather just pay at the posty because whilst prices have increased, it's not £4 both ways for a light weight super foldable jacket. But there was no choice other than to pay the fee. Which of course increased the tax.
So far not a great impression. We'll see what happens with the jacket. Considering there are similar "like new" rab jackets on vinted for £65 including postage fee I'm hoping this is worth it.
