In 2016, Robert and Julie Jones, the owners and directors of Rablogan Castle Limited, then based in Edinburgh, Scotland, were excited to discover that Tartan fabric was finding a newfound relevance in European fashion. While they recognized the traditional history behind Tartan, they believed that Europe was leading the way of a bigger and brighter future for such fabric with its incorporation into everyday attire. Not wanting to undermine in any way the historical significance of Tartan that was associated with the Scottish Clans and families, the company began designing a range of non-traditional fashion registered Tartans with a plan to follow the European trend in the global market. n 2020, Rablogan of Scotland was born as the premier fabric and clothing brand of Rablogan Castle Limited. So as to better facilitate its plan, the company relocated its operation to Inverness in the Scottish Highlands in 2022 with production based out of nearby Nairn. Interest in the company’s products resulted in the establishment of a manufacturing facility and small retail outlet in Nairn in early 2024. The company’s Tartans are designed and registered by Robert and then prepared for weaving in collaboration with the design team at MacNaughton Group of Perth. All of the company’s fabrics are woven at The Isle Mill in Keith, Aberdeenshire. Calling upon their individual backgrounds and ancestral roots, Julie and Robert are responsible for the design and development of a full and continually expanding range of garments, incorporating the company’s unique Tartans, that appeal to young and old alike from all parts of the globe. For 2025, Rablogan Castle Limited through its brand, Rablogan of Scotland, is excited to announce the impending launch of the first three of its tartans in a tweed weave
