rad bad

I went to the store, was going to buy a slightly used bike that had been returned, they wanted to charge me for assembly (but it was assembled already!!) and to charge me full price for phone mount already installed. Like buying a used car and being charged above labeled asking price for every component. Plus assembly double charge since previously assembled. It was a blessing in disguise, I think im getting a lectric xpremium instead.

Stay far away from Rad Power Bikes

I ordered two Rad Power ebikes on 10/6/22 during their Black Friday sale. One High Step and one Mid Step. They state orders ship within 2 business days, but my first bike didnt ship until 10/17/22. It really wasnt a big deal at the time, but it was a sign of things to come. I expected the second bike to ship soon after, but the days came and went and still no communication from Rad about my second bike.

I emailed them on 11/3/22 asking when I could expect my second bike as it had been almost a month since I had placed the order and I was told that now it wouldnt be shipping out until mid to late November. Very vauge shipping date, and much much longer than the originally promised 2 days.

Then on 11/8/22 I'm told they oversold the High Step bikes (the one I've been waiting over a month to receive), and that my options were to switch it for a mid step or get a refund. Not what I wanted, but the price was good, so I agreed to the switch and expected my bike to ship in a few days.

Weeks go by, no bike, no email, no tracking numbers, nothing!! I email them again on 11/29/22 and am now told my bike will ship in early December.

Another few weeks go by, no bike, no email, no tracking numbers, nothing!! I email them again on 12/21/22 and am now told "Unfortunately, this order was impacted by an error in the system and a shipping label was not yet created resulting in the product not yet leaving the warehouse" and that my bike would ship within 3-5 business days.

While I did get a tracking number and an estimated delivery date of 12/24/22 from fedex, nothing was happening. FedEx showed only that a label had been created, and no bike was picked up for delivery even by 12/29/22 when I emailed them again.

I am then fed this load of BS by the CS rep... "I can see from the tracking information that your package was labeled for shipment on 12/23/2022. This means that your order did depart our warehouse by 12/27/2022 but it has not yet been scanned into the courier's system. Sometimes, this initial scan can take 1-14 business days, especially for larger, heavier packages. Further, the estimated resolution date to see movement on your package is on or before 1/12/2022." Never in the history of FedEx have they purposefully sat on a package for 2 weeks without moving it through their delivery process.

Its been over 3 months since I placed my order and I'm still missing a bike. I would never order from this company again and will let everyone I know to stay far away.

Rad’s $600 batteries only last a year

I purchased 2 rad city 5 plus bikes in December of 2021. I picked them up from the bike shop which I paid through RAD to assemble. I picked them up the first week in January 2022. I have only ridden the bikes about 10 times since purchase. They are stored in a heated shop. I bought the battery cases and make sure batteries are charged 1/2-3/4 full throughout the winter. I was doing this recently and the one battery would not charge. I called RAD. They said I was 8 days past the warranty expiration as the warranty starts when the bike in the box is delivered to the bike shop, not me. That doesn’t make sense! The battery is defective. They did not care. The reason we chose RAD was that they had excellent customer reviews but that has not been our experience. The batteries are $600 and if they only last a year, it’s a shoddy product. Very disappointed with this company. Should have purchased a bike from a local bike shop that backs their product.

Poor choice buying on-line from Rad Power Bikes

Assembly required Youtube help. Great ebike for 2 1/2 months before intermittent issues. Contacted customer service at about 3 months. Surprise -- you have to do all the testing to help them diagnose the problem. After exchanging about 15 emails the electronic controller was thought to be the problem. It was "in stock" at the time but after not receiving it 1 month later, it magically was "out of stock". My request for my money back was ignored. Several times I attempted to contact corporate management but was always referred back to customer service. Part is now thought to be back "in stock" in another month. Unless there is a Rad Power dealer near you, do not buy their bikes.

Simply so disappointed with Rad for their poor quality tires and extremely slow response in getting me replacement tires from the recall. Anyone get new tires yet? Never experienced such poor support and service with any company that I can remember. Waited over 6 months! Their email says don’t ride it yet they haven’t replaced the tires.

Have made multiple inquiries over 4

Have made multiple inquiries over 4, to replace Rad-Runner 2 Tires (Unique Size). Back-Ordered, no recommendations or alternative, no follow up just pretend customer service saying will notify when in, really happy to send questionnaire about how awesome their service is. I have stranded college student 6 weeks- with what we thought was a great commuter solution. If you cannot support your product get out of the business. So much for supporting a local NW Company.

Bait and switch - terrible customer service

This company uses bait and switch marketing practices. We ordered two bikes at 799$ per piece ( about half price), paid in full and waited 6 weeks with no bikes. Finally, they just canceled our order - refunded money and offered us 100$ towards an alternate bike (1,400$ minimum for any other bike). They were horrible to deal with and should have offered a similar bike of equal or better value for the same sale price of 799$ . Multiple people had the same issue with this company.

I purchased a Rad City 5 in July

I purchased a Rad City 5 in July. I assembled it according to the directions and videos. By October, the battery would not accept a charge. Rad demanded I perform a bunch of troubleshooting with photos and videos, before they sent me a new battery. It, arrived DOA. After going through the photo & video troubleshooting, again, they sent another dead battery!

I have never seen such a terrible…

I have never seen such a terrible customer service in my entire life.
My front lamp dropped and I have sudden loss of powers on the motor, and all my questions, despite several emails, have not been answered after 3 weeks.
I would not recommend to anyone buying a bike fro, Rad until their customer service is fixed, a real shame.

I tried multiple calls to Rad Bike and each time received an automatic message that they were too busy but would call me back. They never did!!!
It is obvious this company is only interested in prioritizing sales with no interest whatsoever in providing follow-up service assistance. I would never have purchased the bike if I had known this.

Best purchase I've made in a long time

I'm not sure why all the low reviews for Rad Power Bikes. I bought a Radrover 6 plus about 3 weeks ago and have put 143 miles on it without incident. The bike handles and maneuvers well. The power and range is fantastic. The bike is built like a tank but easy to ride and very comfortable.
I did have a minor problem right out of the box though. My front fender's mounting bracket was damaged, I'm assuming through shipping, the box was pretty beat up when it arrived, but customer service sent out another fender the next day. Other then that, no problems at all.
I'm a big guy, 6 ft 250lbs, and this bike handles it well. I can get 22 miles range with just throttle only and anywhere between 40 to 60 miles in throttle assist depending on how much assist I use. I have even taken on a couple of dirt trails with jumps and the bike is smooth. Handles the jumps with ease. Almost like it was built just for jumps. But don't get me wrong this bike was built for all kinds of rides. From a leisurely ride in the neighborhood to full on bike trails.
I'm 61 years old and forgot how enjoyable a bike can be. The RadRover brought all that excitement back to me. One of the best purchases I have made.

Rad power bike lies about shipments

I ordered a Rad Runner 2 as well as multiple accessories.
They made FedEx labels and my accessories are still sitting in the Rad warehouse in Savanah GA 5 days later.
Rad claims FedEx picked them up yet FedEx doesn't have it recorded as being picked up.

I called FedEx, then Rad, then FedEx again and then Rad again. Rad keeps sticking to their lie of FedEx picking it up and claims that FedEx can leave it on a truck for up to 14 business days before scanning the package(s) in. That is a bold face lie.

A) FedEx always scans any package before putting on any truck.
B) FedEx drivers get paid by the piece so no driver is going to NOT scan a package in.

I'm beginning to understand why Rad doesn't have a warehouse in the North East of the country. We don't tolerate lies like that at all.

Rad wanted me to wait 14 business days before they file a case on my missing items.
FedEx started a case on behalf of their customer (me) to see why the warehouse hasn't given them to FedEx yet. Amazing how I didn't have to wait 14 business days to get one started through FedEx eh.

RAD Bikes - Poor Customer Service - be aware

I was excited to join the E-bike world and specifically the Rad E- Bike community. I ordered Rad city 5 bike online had it sent via our local barge company, because Rad Bike won’t ship to Alaska. I assumed this was because of the battery. I was ok paying the extra $150 to have it shipped to me, because of all the good things I read and heard about Rad E-bikes, and I really wanted one.
I picked up my bike from the barge company and dropped it off immediately to the local bike mechanic to assemble. I picked up my bike a day later and rode it the next morning to the firehall where I work (3 miles away). The very next morning, as my shift at the firehall ended, I was excited to take my new bike out for a ride, but it was dead. Nothing would turn on - the bike simply stopped working.
This was on a Saturday morning so I emailed rad bikes and was happy to get a quick response as they sent me a trouble guide. I worked my way through it, but in the end the bike was still not working - It would not even turn on. I followed up via email I got e email immediately back saying it’s all under warranty and they would ship a replacement controller and wiring harness immediately free to me and pay for a hour of labor at the bike mechanic to get it working. I was really impressed with the response and thought they really care about the customer and they stand behind the product but I was wrong.
Three weeks have gone by and there’d been zero follow up and no replacement parts had arrived. I emailed RAD bikes asking for update or tracking number and got a reply back at the parts never left the factory because they will not ship them to Alaska. At this point I called and asked why was I not informed that the order has been canceled. I was then told not only will they not ship to Alaska they will require me to pay for it to go by barge – this is the most expensive yet slowest shipping method to Alaska. We receive mail using USPS, FedEx, and UPS but none of these were options they gave me.
I tried to explain I already paid for shipping when I bought the bike and that the part should’ve worked and was only used once since purchased and under warranty. The only option provided is for me to pay for shipping the part, with no guarantee this will fix the bike. I have called and emailed several times over the last week and have made no progress in finding the right person to talk with to resolve this. I’m sorry to say this company seems interested only maximizing the profit margins, with no interest in offering an exception to their ‘no shipping to Alaska’ policy and do the right thing for the individual customer. They are not supporting their products or their customers by this rigid inflexibility. At this point I want to just return the bike and have told customer service this. I’m working to get the bike sent back to them but waiting for a reply for the return department because customer service wants me to pay a bike shop to take the bike apart, buy a new bike box (I had the bike shop throw the original one away assuming the product would work), and pay for shipping the bike back down to RAD bikes. If I pay for the return, as they have instructed, I will have $700 in shipping costs alone invested into a bike that does not work and I want nothing to do with now. I wish I would never have got involved with Rad E- bikes – their lack of customer support in this situation means they have lost this customer for life. I would strongly recommend finding another company with better customer support.

Manipulative company w unsafe bikes

Manipulative company which sold me an expensive bike then sent a safety warning the day it arrived. They cannot fix the problem for months, meaning they sold me a bike which I will not be able to use until after the winter (more than 6 months from purchase date). And they cannot figure out a way to allow me to return the bike until they open a store near me in the future.

Rad flat tire paperweight

Bought a Rad Power 4 for my obese disabled brother-in-law. The bike itself is well made and works as promised but the tires and tubes it comes with are "less than the best". The front tube has been patched 6 times while we wait for Rad to sell replacement tubes. They have them but won't sell them; they're reserved for new sales only. The 22x3 size is only used by this company. No other company anywhere in the world sells 22x3 tires of tubes. Complete lack of planning on Rad's part. This e-bike is now a giant paperweight while we wait for Rad to provide spare tubes. OH, by the way - Rad commissioned Tannus to sell "armored liners" for their bikes. For $150 you get two pieces of polyurethane foam that enables you to put a 22x1.75 tube into a 22x3 tire - and they aren't getting great reviews.
