Truly exceptional customer service.

Truly exceptional customer service.
I purchased a pair of prescription running sunglasses from these guys back in 2002. Long story short, the frames for the glasses failed on 2 occasions meaning their grip on the insert was insecure.
The company sent out new frames on both occasions, no questions asked. Their responses were quick and courteous and could not have been more helpful.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Great communication and product

Lost the right hand lens from my fishing glasses. E mailed to clarify what part number to order as a replacement. Replied that morning with link to replacement lens. Paid and received two days later. Excellent glasses and first class customer service.

Great Products and Service.

I have just ordered my third pair of sports sun glasses from Rapid Eyewear. Hands down, they are the best sunglasses I have ever used for flying RC aircraft. I was recently involved in an accident at the flying field and my Rapid Eyewear Nimbus sunglasses saved one of my eyes from a serious impact injury. The delivery service to Australia is first class. Thank you.

I cannot believe this business is operational...

I need to get this off my chest because this experience that I have had with rapideyewear has been some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced....

Summary…
Failed to send me the glasses I paid for twice. The lab made the wrong prescription after 2 weeks of asking and the customer service were unfriendly, argumentative and audacious with their communication. Tales of corruption. Had to raise a PayPal dispute to get my money back after 3weeks. STAY CLEAR.

Full story..
I opted to purchase prescription cycling glasses from this company as I liked their design after some extensive research. On there website they quote a few days turn around, however I was eventually informed the polycarbonate lenses took longer to make (7-10days). I was happy to wait this length of time. However after 11days and no dispatch notice/tracking I contacted Suzanne/John to enquire about the orders status by email ONLY. This is where the communication turned sour. Suzanne said she would contact 'the lab' and get back to me...SHE DID NOT. When I enquired again after a couple of days John replied abruptly and unhelpfully, that if I had paid express service then the order should be with me on Tuesday (15days) if not priority Wed/Thurs Sorry but I placed the order with you surely you also know if I paid express delivery or not!( I had). So I decided not to get worked up about it and wait till the Monday when they would be back from the lab and shipped from Suzanne/John's care. Monday morning I was emailed to tell me the pair were incorrectly manufactured by 'the lab' and they would have to make another pair which would be with them again on Friday. I challenged them and asked what has gone wrong here (my prescription is minor) and I was met with as wall of we're not all perfect, mistakes happen, excuse after excuse. OK fine I accept your reasoning, I'd waited 2 weeks already what another additional week. On Thursday (day 17), I got an email from John about a corrupt optician at there old lab who stole a load of money and they had to part way with, however they relied on the other partner to now make the glasses for then, who had to travel 60miles to work every day. Right John, that is terrible but you can't use that as an excuse for poor service. However, I replied on the Friday to offer my sympathy and enquire if the glasses would be dispatched today as planned. This email was IGNORED, again and another and another until I was forced to raise a dispute with them over PayPal. I finally got a reply on Monday saying they had refunded me however we could have reached this amicably a week ago! You promised to make up for the mistake and send me the glasses I'd paid for. Not only did I give you another chance, you again failed to meet the service you apparently offer. Not once did they apologise for ignoring my emails, they regularly showed resistance in emails, short and highly argumentative, even after all this you could say you got it wrong! I am a phD student in the final month it, all I wanted was some prescription cycling glasses, not more stress dealing with this lot. I would highly advise against dealing with this company because its not worth the stress.

In response to your reply:

RAPIDEYEWEAR keep changing their reply to this review which speaks volumes.

My review is 100% true and if anybody wishes PROOF I have documented emails of the whole saga.

Lets get one thing clear, I do not lie, "nobody was rude to this customer on the phone - he made that up, nobody ignored him". I DID NOT mention speaking to anybody over the phone in my review, our communication was PURELY BY EMAIL (strange you lie about this!!), and you were rude. Secondly, you did ignore my emails and I have it in writing.

I opted to give them a SECOND CHANCE and make the inserts again after weeks of waiting. You promised the inserts (2nd pair) would be with me by the end of the week. I patiently waited till then, no glasses, then my email ignored till the following Monday, when I indeed my lost patience and opened a PayPal dispute. BUT only after I had be let down AGAIN. 'If I had waited another few days they would have been ready'? (previous post) How long is that piece of string? The website estimates delivery in 3-5 working days (point 4.2 of your T&Cs), you later informed that polycarbonate may take up to 14days MAX. I think 3 weeks of waiting is more than enough!

You treated me like garbage and it is clear by your reply you felt it was outwith your control. All I asked was to be kept in the loop and ignoring my emails is far from that. Well like I said in my last email to you, please treat all your customers with delays, rudeness and ignorance, like what I experienced and you will soon have none.

What happened to this reputable business? Well they started lying to their customer base...For more info contact me directly.

A rather unfortunate and rare set of circumstances led to issues with this customer's order. Firstly, the lab we use to add the prescription work suffered a catastrophic (and fortunately short-lived) internal problem that delayed the production of his order for some time, a fact that was explained to him several times, as he was calling us almost daily to complain. His assertion that he was 'ignored' is laughable because a). we never ignore customer messages and b). we could hardly ignore Mr Hislop as he was regularly on the phone to myself or my colleague. He was also offered a full refund by my colleague, which he refused, saying he still wanted the product, which was fair enough.

In the end when the lab sent back his Rx insert, they'd made it incorrectly so we had to reject it and ask them to make it again. This was fully explained to the customer and was a further result of the now-solved problems they had at the time. (At this point I should mention that despite his claims, every product listing description for prescription-ready eyewear on our website quotes 10 - 14 days for delivery and not the 3 - 5 days he claims.).

Given the delays with his order it was perfectly reasonable for him to want a refund at this stage and had he requested one, it would have been given immediately. Instead of contacting us, he lost his patience and entered a dispute with Paypal to get his money back. His assertion that he had 'no choice' but to enter the dispute is simply not correct.

The customer was kept fully informed of the issues throughout the process, indeed I personally sent him an email explaining the issues at the laboratory that led to these problems - an email which, ironically given his claims above, he ignored. Despite our taking the time to explain everything, he has chosen to post these reviews around the internet in an attempt to ruin our fantastic and hard-earned reputation for excellent products, and superb customer service.

We've been producing our prescription-ready sunglasses for 16 years. if we were half as bad as Mr Hislop claims, we wouldn't have got past the first year. If any customer for any reason, is not satisfied with our products or services, we will always give a refund. The truth is, such issues are extremely rare.

Another purchase - great

I've now had their products for a while. None have broken. I'm using the clear and polarised bifocal glasses. Great for cycling, driving. Paragliding in a sitting position is ok. Reclined - rather specialised situation for bifocals, I think I'd prefer an Aviator style with a very narrow (2-3mm) bifocal ( probably the max ). Not sure if this exists on the market. This is my second purchase.

Excellent service, great products

I placed two orders in the past couple of months. The first was for two spare parts and the second for a set of driving sunglasses. Both times the parcels were shipped within 1-2 working days and I received them in a timely manner. The products were very well packed and are excellent for the price. Before I placed the order for the spare parts, I communicated via email with them for some information, to which messages they responded quickly and very thoroughly each and every time. In two words, "extremely satisfied".
