requested to translate and notarize in CA, due to further Apostille needs. They did a wrong notarization and refused to refund. The document is of no use to me. Looks like they don't listen to customer needs and just give you a translation regardless what you need or asked for.

Certified Translation does NOT meet Certification Standards
I ordered a certified translation from Rapid Translate for official use in the EU. After receiving the document, I discovered that none of the translated pages were signed, dated, or stamped—a basic requirement for legal and governmental acceptance worldwide.
When I raised the issue, support acknowledged that their translations do not include any certification marks on the translated pages and only provide a generic cover letter. This crucial limitation is not disclosed upfront on their website, even under their “Order Now” or “Certified Translation” sections.
I asked for a full refund, since I had to pay a second provider to do the translation properly. They offered only a 20% refund, and said they would only consider more if I could provide an official rejection letter—which government offices rarely issue, especially in person.
Even worse, their initial suggestion was to just “try submitting it anyway”—despite me clearly explaining that the format would not be accepted. That kind of response shows a serious lack of professionalism and understanding of legal requirements.
This was a waste of time and money. The translation was not fit for purpose, the certification was incomplete by basic standards, and the company failed to resolve it fairly. I also gave them the opportunity to address the issue directly before posting this review.

Be careful! Certified Translation is not sworn translation
Requested a Certified Translation via Rapid Translate’s website are here are my findings:
1. Discovered that certified translation as listed on their website ≠ locally notarized translation. The locally notarized translation is called "sworn translation". Initially, I received a U.S.-based notary attestation for a certified translation. This may not be considered valid in many countries (e.g., Germany).
2. No option on the website to directly request a sworn translation.
3. Even their "sworn" translations include a digitally copied notary stamp, not an inked signature/stamp.
4. Sworn translation quality was noticeably better than the certified version.
I paid 72 euros for two pages of a certified translation. After discovering that the certified translation was not a notarised translation or a so-called ‘sworn’ translation, I paid an additional 57.23 USD for two pages. Be careful with the invoice, as they tend to use any currency they want without checking this upfront.
Be very mindful about the local regulations before requesting a translation.
Recommended only if you need a translation of your documents to be used in the USA.

To clarify, we do offer sworn translations particularly for customers in Germany and other countries where this type of service is legally required. When placing an order, users who select “Germany” as the destination or country of use are automatically presented with the option to request a sworn translation — which includes a wet-ink signature and stamp and is physically mailed to the customer.
Based on your review, it sounds like a certified translation for U.S. use was selected instead of the sworn option — which would explain the digital certification and notarization style you received. We understand how important these differences are depending on the country of submission and we're sorry this wasn't clearer during your ordering process.
