Real relationships, both with the farms and our customers, are essential to Rare Tea. This is what we believe defines direct trade.
We focus on quality, sampling the finest and only selecting the best: our range is small but carefully chosen, seeking out tea-gardens and farmers crafting the most delicious leaves. We are extremely lucky and proud to work with unique farms producing extraordinary tea.
Some of our tea is very rare, with only a few kilos produced each year. Others can be grown on a larger scale. All of our tea is crafted by skilled men and women on independent farms, not industrially processed by large agribusinesses. We buy harvests from farmers, not a commodity from brokers.

We're sorry to see you're unhappy with the delivery service. You were not charged delivery, however we are aware that your parcel was incorrectly assessed for customs and import fees. If parcels are incorrectly assessed then we ask that you don't pay the charges and allow us to investigate on your behalf. Once the parcel is paid, it is unfortunately extremely difficult for us to challenge with DHL.
We do apologise for your experience. We have since made changes to the process to minimise the risk of this happening again.

Teas sold are absolutely lovely
Teas sold are absolutely lovely. Have introduced my family and friends to the Rare Tea Company teas. We all love the Jasmine Silver Tip tea in particular, and I've suggested the tins of teas as different but beautiful small gifts especially to friends living abroad. My latest purchase, the First Flush Darjeeling is lovely too.

RTC replied to my initial question about tea really quickly then recommended two teas based on what I’d asked. They then checked back to ask how my first tea was. Really friendly and knowledgeable.

The quality of the products is exceptional. The customer care is as it should be, promp, courteous and very helpful. And no problems with delivery.
I purchased 4 tins of tea; Chocolate, Earl Grey, Pick-Me-Up blend and Recovery blend. They are all excellent quality, but my favourite is the Pick-Me Up. Even the aromas as I open the tin are enough to put a smile on my face and make me feel wonderful!
On the face of it, they may seem quite expensive, especially if you've spent years buying s-h-i-tea from supermarkets! But trust me, they are worth every penny. I can't recommend this company enough.
