Pre ordered an album, that was dispatched on time, following the tracking it took ages to arrive (not Rarewaves fault, but the dreadful Whistl)..
When it arrived side one disc one was scratched, even though it was brand new and sealed, again, not Rarewaves fault, just poor quality control at the pressing plant.
Customer service was fantastic as always, and another was sent out. After about 3 weeks waiting this had not been delivered, lost in transit, and still not appeared. Again customer service was great and sent me yet another, which arrived after another 5 days, so in the end, all is good. You lose a star for the dreadful Whistl you use. Not your fault I know, but it reflects on you.
Long term customer who will continue to use Rarewaves.
Very friendly! Decent prices and helpful customer service. Would highly recommend
So I ordered two books 05/05/2026, book one comes in due course all tracked (hurrah) , the other book is a pre-order publication date 16/07/2026 which when the date comes Rarewaves states that they have the book in stock on their website.
I get no email stating it’s been shipped so I contact them on the 21/07/2026:
Me “Hi Please clarify situation with regard to this part of order. Order appears to have gone into a state of limbo”
They reply: “We can confirm that we are getting your replacement ready to be dispatched within 24 hours”
REPLACEMENT? I haven’t had an email to say the book shipped but they are talking about a replacement??? Now I’m not sure if I’m dealing with a confused human or a confused AI, but I’m now really confused or was that the point?
Email the next day 22/07/2026 to say that the book is on its way. This is when it gets weird the tracking number they provide is the same tracking number as the first book so it looks the book was delivered to me before it was even published.
So I contact them again:
Me “Hi Two items in the order one shipped 9th March one shipped 22nd July but both have been given the same tracking number. Any chance you have a record of the tracking number for the 22nd July item, it's not the one shown. Thanks for your help.”
They reply: “As the item has just been dispatched yesterday, a parcel number has not yet been generated. Please do contact us in the next few days for an update”
So why is the old parcel number being used, and how can it be dispatched without a parcel number being generated? (i.e. It’s a parcel number it goes on the parcel label)
Really it looks like the book hasn’t been dispatched at all and they are using the old dispatch number to make it look like it has been dispatched.
Customers really don’t stand a chance when they’re pulling stuff like this.
Ordered 5 silver Campagnolo gear adjuster for my bikes, got sent one black one which was not in an original wrapper so may not be a genuine article.
Not impressed and won't be using this company again.
I ordered from Rarewaves on 14 July because the item was a birthday present for my wife on 23 July. It is now 27 July and the parcel still has not arrived.
I contacted Rarewaves on 15 July to ask when it would be dispatched, making it clear that it was needed for a birthday. I was told that orders were normally dispatched within 48 hours and that delivery would take a further three to five working days.
I then received notification that it had been dispatched on 16 July. That should have left enough time for it to arrive. Instead, my wife’s birthday came and went with no parcel.
Every update has had to be dragged out of Rarewaves by email. I was initially told that the order had been sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class. I was later given a Whistl tracking number, which showed little meaningful movement. Despite repeatedly asking where the parcel was and when it would arrive, I received little more than apologies, vague assurances and requests to wait another few days.
Rarewaves was quick enough to take the payment, but remarkably slow to deliver the order or take responsibility when it failed to arrive.
I have also seen the standard response Rarewaves posts beneath other negative reviews, saying that its customer-care team will be in touch. Please do not post that empty boilerplate beneath this review. Your team has already been in contact with me repeatedly since 15 July. You have my order details, my emails and the tracking information. The order remains undelivered and you have now stopped replying.
Being “in touch” is not the same as resolving a problem.
This was my first order from Rarewaves and it will be my last. Appalling delivery, contradictory information and customer service seemingly designed to delay rather than resolve anything.
For identification, this review relates to order number 621249. Rarewaves also has the full details through my name, email address and the correspondence already sent.
Excellent item and service - the figurine I bought for my daughter was being sold at a much higher price from sellers abroad. The price was more reasonable at Rarewaves and delivery was swift. Great buy and will use again.
