We purchased a new house which was installed with triple glazed doors and windows. Not long after moving in the front door was leaking very badly and the water had to be mopped up with towels.
The house builder contacted the company and after visits a new front door was installed in July 2021.
The front door is now leaking again badly so I contacted the company under the warranty.
They are refusing to send a service engineer to assess the issue saying the front door needs adjusting every year (they say its in their user guide) despite the door (to me) looking equi-distant in the frame. I'm not a door specialist so why would I adjust a door and possibly make it even worse?
Now they want me to pay £420 (inc VAT) to get a service engineer out to see if it is a warranty issue and if it is I will get a refund!
Every time I contact them they want photographs of the frame numbers, leaks and of the issue. This has been going on for a fortnight and the water ingress continues staining the floor and soaking into the wooden skirting.
Basically, we are being held to ransome and they are washing their hands of the matter. Their warranty is almost worthless! It's left us frustrated and annoyed. You never know how good a company is until you need customer service and on that basis Rationel, Dovista and Velfac have let us down badly.
Update......
I am in touch with the company and after sending out a technician who replaced a seal and did a full examination and report.
The leak is still present during very heavy rain.
The customer services manager has offered to send a specialist to try and establish exactly why the door is leaking during severe rains. I have replied I will be pleased for this examination and await a date.

We had an issue with a product purchased four years ago. When we contacted the company they were amazing. Swift, helpful, honourable. They are extremely efficient to deal with. Great products, great after care. So glad we chose a reputable classy company in the first place.

I recently installed over £40k of new, aluminium flashed Rationel windows and doors on a substantial new build house. The timber finish of all the units was poor, with machine marks and noticable joints in the window and door frames, where inexpensive timber has been laminated together. Not impressed for the extraordinary cost of the products. Maybe a dark paint choice would hide this better.. Additionally, some of the windows were not supplied square. Meaning one side of the window cases were longer than the other; not by much, and not noticable without a tape measure, but not I would expect at the price point. The doors all have stickers peeling off from their tops, which were simply painted over in the factory. Not really noticable, but there is exposed, untreated timber for the elements to get into if not repainted at customers additional expense. Final negative point was that most of the windows and one door were poorly adjusted from factory. The one door scuffed the threshold plate before were were able to lift the door and adjust peoperly once installed. My reason for giving two stars, instead of one, is the quality of the hardware, and door furniture, which really is excellent. Just a pitty it's installed on poorly built products.

A crack appeared within 18 months. They say its not covered by warranty. I've never had a window crack before therefore I assume this company must supply poor quality materials.
A major regret that we went with Rationel for our windows and doors as part of a major project. Door has rotted through and needs replacing in just a few years. I would not choose their products knowing what I now know about them and their customer experience. If you are in the midlands and want to come and have a look at at these products after a few years then you are welcome, alternatively I can share photos - just want other potential customers to benefit from our experience and frankly learn from our mistakes.
I paid up front for a door £1700. It took two months to arrive which I knew about. When it arrived the door lock does not work. I have tried the recommendations of their technical people and the lock is broken. I tried the reseller (Three Counties) who sold it to me, they have failed to do anything about it. I tried Rationel direct and they say they cannot do anything because they cannot locate the order even though it was the only product delivered to my address this year. For a company that is supposed to be supplying a premium product they are a complete joke when it comes to caring about customers.
UPDATE: They are now planning to send someone out to repair it in four weeks time.
We love our new ali-clad windows and composite doors, which have been in situ for about sixteen months.
We had an issue with a scratch on one window sash which Rationel have now replaced. The two gentlemen (Miles and Chris) from MLO Installations, who replaced the sash on behalf of Rationel, were very professional, friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble - they even adjusted our external doors when we asked them while they were here.
Whilst MLO are contracted to Rationel, Miles and Chris are a credit to both companies and we would have no hesitation in calling upon them again.
Nice to look at but very poor quality for the price they cost. I am out of warranty now and asking for a repair is just out of this world. I had an handle that got loose and I was not able to tighten it. I had to pay 270 GPB for a 10 minutes job. Luckily it was defective and I goe refunded...with a bit of patience...
Now I have the paint started bubbling outside and I asked for a quote, You have to pay 700 GBP for a day worth of an engineer which can do 2/3 windows in a day. Unfortunately I have got a very bad experience.
I needed a warranty claim resolved urgently for a failed lock. Rationel resolved the matter within several days. The indepenent, but seemingly aligned contractors were fast and efficient. The Rationel Service Coordinator Sam was friendly, helpful and efficient.
The doors and windows are beautiful looking.
I am a residential owner of 10 year old Rational windows/doors and needed to buy some replacement locks - I found the service to be very good for what was a small order (for them) which involved some research to ensure that the correct products were ordered for these older items. They also responded in a timely way to voicemails or emails. Overall I am very happy with their service and would recommend them.
These windows looked beautiful when they went in, but...They are marketed as robust, but seven years in we are having rot problems in many areas. One door is going to have to be replaced, as the wood has rotted so deeply and so widely. Rationel have been asked for a price on the new door two months ago. Then the request was chased up. Still waiting for a single response two months later. These doors and windows were well taken care of, and painted with rationel’s own varnish every summer. It has not been enough. A visit from a carpenter informed us that these doors and windows are made from soft wood. Not fit for purpose. Go to a carpenter where you have much more control over your windows.
Perfect on mt recent house build, and my previous renovation. I will continue to buy these great windows
