Our daughter is ahead of her class. She has been using reading.com to gain early literacy skills for a few months now and the more consistently we complete lessons, the easier they are for her. Reading.com provides support and logically builds her skills to allow her to read the in-app books on her own.

Honestly it worked very well for my son! He is 4 years old and we are on level 108! He loves it but to be 100% honest once we got to around level 90 he was over reading the books.. he says they are to long but he is also 4 so I just started reading a page and he would but he still enjoys the stories just doesn’t want to read the whole book lol

I toke my 7 year old out of school because the classes where too big at 30 kids. He was not getting the lessons and did not receive good attention to his need of learning. He was struggling with reading and failing in multiple subjects because he could not read it to understand the instructions. I Started homeschooling, and this has been an essential tool to helping him read. He went from not reading a sentence to reading several with minimal struggle. Its a great app, very informative, interactive and my son enjoyed the characters and games that was available along with the printable worksheets. Thank you! The app and program are very well thought out from design to lesson execution! It is so easy to open the app and start learning! My child begs for a reading lesson every day. My only advice is for parents of younger kids (we started the program at 4 years old) is to find other resources to reinforce what is learned on the app. It really helps to have something hands on and not just electronic for them to practice.

My daughter was struggling a little with her reading we tried reading.com and she loved it. It was fun and engaging she wanted to do some learning and felt so proud. My son, a preschooler was always watching and wanting to do it too so this year we started him and he is loving it and learning as well. It’s been an amazing tool to help the kids learn sounds and blending in a fun interactive way.

I’ve had a hard time in the past getting my active child to sit still and complete her homeschool language arts lessons. Not anymore with reading.com! Now she brings me her reading lessons and asks if we can do them. She’s learning quickly and it’s no longer a fight or a headache for me to try and catch her interest. I’m so happy we signed up and took a chance!

Just two months into my daughter’s 5 year old year, she is reading. I’m shocked. I had a few different apps for my boys when they were her age but non of them have compared to reading.com. The first time we came across spelling in the app, I jumped in to started sounding out the word slowly for her and she literally got frustrated with me and then proceeded to spell her first word on her own. We are now at level 25 after about a month and she asks to do it before we read books at night. Sometimes she flies through it and sometimes we have to take a break and start again the next day. Whatever we are doing, she is light years ahead of her classmates.

Good app to help kids learn or practice how to read.

This app has helped our 7 yr old read and feel confident about his reading abilities more than any other app or curriculum we’ve tried. The visual cues help him sound out words with ease. We LOVE their alphabet song and sing it often. I can’t recommend this app enough, whether you have a struggling reader or a little one that’s just starting out.

Reading.com has been such a big help in getting my 5 year old to learn his sounds and helping him start to read. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to help their children learn to read as an added bonus to what they may already be doing!

My son is learning ALOT, He’s only 3.5 years old and he has already started reading a few words and is getting better with sounding out words and we are only 1/3 of the way through.
The song is fun and upbeat and so far I love it.
What I don’t particularly care for is how long the books are, he did fine with the 4 pages, but by page 5/6 he is done almost everytime is a struggle to finish. I think if the books were shorter he’d be happy to complete it everyday. Also, I think spending more time on sight words, in some way, would be beneficial. But all in all, I love it, my
Son is absolutely learning to read before 4 years old and I’m so proud of him and so glad I decided to try reading.com. I would recommend to anyone.

We love reading.com! This program is amazing and I love that I get to be a part of the lessons I’m not just giving my kid an iPad I am actually getting to teach her. I cannot recommend this program enough!

Overall, I’ve been impressed. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology and have worked as a dyslexia specialist for the past 6 years, so I view reading programs through a different lens than most.

Some pros:
-includes phonological awareness
-includes review of previously taught concepts
-phoneme articulation is correct
-kids love the lessons

Some cons:
-initial phoneme isolation should never include a consonant blend as an example of the target phoneme but it does in this. For example, “dragon” for the letter D, “train” for T, etc. I can’t recall the exact examples, but I know that the program gives consonant blend examples instead of consonant-vowel which is the SOTR-aligned method.

-the letter “a” before a consonant M or N should be introduced as a nasalized sound. The M distorts the sound of the “a” in most American dialects. Most OG-based reading programs explicitly teach this before students blend am and an.

-sight words are memorized. We know from research that orthographic mapping and discussion of etymology is a better

Overall, I think it’s a good, basic program that could be improved with a few tweaks. My son IS learning to read. Why am I not teaching him myself? Because the program is much more fun than me!

We’ve been using Reading.com for a few weeks now and my son (almost 4 years old) has made SO much progress and absolutely loves it! It’s the first thing he asks to do when he wakes up.

My son started from zero knowledge in reading as I honestly don't know an effective way of teaching him how to read, but with the help of Reading.com which taught him thorough sounds of the letters and with the daily exercises, he is now capable of reading words and gradually sentences. He comprehends each book being read and discussed. The application keeps him interested and curious which develops his eagerness to learn even more. I am glad of his development especially that he is now in kindergarten. I highly recommend Reading.com to parents with children who are learning to read.

We love this program! We are starting our kindergarten homeschool year using it and my 5 year old is doing great. He’s already reading sentences. Love how this is laid out, love how easy it is for parents and the child to follow through with.
If you are looking for a game you can cut your kiddo loose with, this is not that. And even the company emphasizes the importance of parental involvement. But if you are using it as curriculum, or a supplement to school or even just for struggling readers, and you can devote 15-20 minutes a day to it, try it!

My son tried tutoring at a costly price and this app has helped him excel quickly at a fraction of the cost

My son was resistant to practicing reading every day. With Reading.com he is eager to go through his lesson because the games at the end are a fun reward! I've seen much improvement in his confidence and desire to learn.

Legitimately gamechanging for homeschooling my wild children! Teaching them to read was the most intimidating part of starting school and has turned out to be the most fun and easiest part of it. They ask to do reading time and we all look forward to it. It’s actually crazy to see how fast they learn using the program! I highly recommend the program!!

This app is so thoughtfully designed and effective. I recommend it to all my parent friends. My daughter was bouncing off of reading and disliking school as a result. I tried a bunch of different things to help her and this is the one that worked. We get quality time together while we do her lessons and she's made a huge amount of progress which has in turn helped her enjoy school more.
