Let down by poor parking morals

Let down by poor parking morals

We've been going to Jump Warehouse (on Diss BP, managed by Reads) for a couple of years now, and prior to that when it was Monsters. A LOT better as JW - with the whole experience vastly improved.

Good food, reasonable pricing, kids love it...however - Be AWARE - Read's have contracted a Private parking company to manage the car parking throughout Diss Business Park, including (although very unclearly) JW's car park (which is both separate and excluded from recent FB communications) - check out Read's and DBP's FB sites.

As a family attending a recent birthday party for one of our kids friends - having driven there, parked up, and paid for 2 older siblings to also go in, not told about the parking rules, a 'Parking Charge Notice' was receive shortly after the event to the registered keeper. Now, there are no International Parking Community (one of the industry bodies) compliant signs at the entrance to the Business Park, nor the designated JW car park at the rear - and as a fairly frequent attendee no signs were expected either. The staff (being busy which is fair enough) also didn't draw attention to a tablet on the desk in which you are meant to enter your registration. (Update - the private parking company have now provided 2 further tablets - presumably as they were having so many issues?)

Now, the new rules make sense to me, to stop people taking the Michael out of the car park - but not genuine customers (in what is a 'free' car park anyway). We wrote to DBP and to Read's (and JW but they never bothered to answer) with evidence of the £55 spent that day at Jump Warehouse, and asked if the could they cancel the ticket...as it was a new scheme and the signs were non-compliant and confusing (still are btw - UPDATE - one of the non-complaint signs talking about fines have been removed - but nothing in their place - silly billys).

The immediate answer was no, but I was offered a call, when we spoke with a manager of the site(s), they explained that details for the car hadn't been entered and any problem we had would need to be taken up with the Private parking company....we pleaded with them numerous times, no change in their position...They felt their signs are compliant and would not offer any cancelation.

Sadly this has marred both my view of them a little, would we trust them should another problem arise? No. Good if everything is okay, should there be a problem, don't hold out much hope for help.

UPDATE - recently tried to reason with them and ask them to cancel the PCN, guess what - they did reply yay - but also guess what - they asked me to not tell anyone online as it was defamatory and slanderous (guess what - all of the above is true - so cannot be defamatory). This is a review only, and is a fair and truthful reflection of our experiences with this business....User beware.

Diss Business Hub

I have been renting an office at the Diss Business Hub for 3 years now and love it there. Great facilities and a friendly team who are always there to help. I would highly recommend this company for renting out regular office space and for occasional meeting room hire.
