Absolutely do not use this company

Absolutely do not use this company. I have not dealt with a bigger liar than Miles. My move was a night mare from start to finish. If you care at all about working with a company you can trust with your items. If you care at all about working with a company that is on time and professional. If you care at all about being lied to about all aspects of your move. Do not use this company.
Do not trust anything Miles will tell you.
This is not just a review this is a warning to hopefully protect you from a horrible move from start to finish. Also be aware nothing will be protected from damage they will have no wrap as promised and want to make your move a two trip move on top of everything else.
Horrible

Overall successful move of a 2 bed…

Overall successful move of a 2 bed house 260 miles away. Van was 1 hour late arriving, but this was communicated well and they arrived at the revised time. Efficient and courteous drivers went out of their way to help and make sure furniture was where we wanted it.

Subcontracted Service. Damages. Left Items. No insurance.

Reasonable Movers Ltd subcontracted the entire job and two luton vans turned up to move a four bedroom detached house which clearly wasn't sufficient. When that was raised, we were told they would run multiple trips. During the loading of the first trip our fridge was badly scratched as was the flooring (both old and new house), which was highlighted to Adam. He said insurance would cover this. Before they would unload the first vans, Adam demanded full payment (or would not unload) and also said we would have to pay for an additional trip. We said the quote was to move full house, but he said they only allowed for one trip and wanted another £1000 (on top of £1500). The quote did not say this and even said 'nothing would be left behind' and this would be the full amount we'd pay. I had no choice but to pay as time was critical. I tried calling Adam back to resolve, but no answer, so I had to pay the subcontractors direct (£300 more) for an additional trip. After the move we contacted Adam and he claimed damage was caused on second run and that insurance wouldn't cover this. We have contacted Adam but no response now. We also had a list of items left behind - some of which we had to leave to the new house owners - and we also had to hire another vehicle to collect items. We will be seeking legal advice and if anyone would like to discuss this and join me, let me know.

Thank you for your feedback.

You requested your move on short notice during the stamp duty holiday rush. We provided you with a quotation for 4 men with 2 vans doing 1 trip. All quotations are for 1 trip unless stated otherwise or discussed otherwise, this is how the whole industry works.

When on the phone to discuss the second trip, we were not advised of any damages which occurred. We requested an additional £300 not £1000 for an extra trip which is a very reasonable price! You then took it into your own hands to pay our drivers out of contract for a second run. After the second run had been completed you notified us of damage.

We were not in receipt of the funds for the second run hence you would not be covered under our insurance policy. This would be like buying a vehicle from Land Rover. and collecting your warranty from Mercedes. This is unfortunately not how any industry works. Our calls are recorded, in these calls you can clearly hear my offer of £300 for an extra run which you ended up paying the the driver personally knowing full well that this is not how business works and clearly would not be covered by the company insurance.

In regards to the damage you have stated, this occurred on the second trip, this was validated by the van driver himself and by the calls you made to us when requesting the second trip you mentioned the fridge was still at the old property and needed to be move.

I understand your grievances, however, we advise all our clients to contact us if there are any issues on the day and not go ahead with any private agreements with van drivers. These agreements would not be covered by us and we will not be held liable.

Your calls were not ignored, our lines were very busy in this period and were not able to attend to customers there and then. A call back is always given, in this situation as you came to an agreement with the van drivers, there was nothing left to discuss.

Regards,
Management

Damaged furniture and broken plates

Communication started off well and they were flexible on moving days. However on the day of the move, a van that was only just able to fit in our belongings arrived. Before, we had sent videos of our belongings and a list of what we had. This clearly had not fully been taken into account. Our belongings were shoved into the van in order to make them fit by the removal men. This resulted in an essential part of the bed being bent significantly, which the men tried to bend back into shape. Much of our furniture is scratched or chipped, as they didn’t seem to use any protective blankets in the van. We also lost a whole set of plates and glasses, as they were all broken upon arrival. After the move, we were told that we would be able to claim on their insurance and that they would get back to us after payment was received. We paid on the day but this resulted in confusion and a threaten of bailiffs (due to a miscommunication between people at the company). This was then resolved and a receipt was received. After several attempts of communication a few weeks after the move, I have had no reply about the plates. Really not pleased by the service we received. Would not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback.

We contact all clients during and after the completion of moves as we have to collect payment.

The only complaint ever made to the team was that some of the plates had been broken which we acknowledged and immediately followed the insurance process which is why we pay our premium each year to be covered.

There is a process for all claims which we are bound to follow by our insurance provider.

This begins with the valuation of goods to be replaced.

You had provided evidences of the costs only 7 working days ago, the process for claims takes a minimum 14 days.

You have made no attempt to re-contact us letting us know your concerns regarding lack of communication or time frame although you were made aware it would be a minimum 14 working days.

Like all clients you have direct contact details for the below on EVERY CORRESPONDENCE:
Transport Manager
Sales Lead
Whatsapp contact

You have made no attempt to use any channels to voice your concerns.

You never made mention nor sent evidence of bed and/or glass being broken or damaged.

We provided a receipt as you mentioned, we were now waiting for the process to be completed.

We have never ignored, denied or rejected your attempts to contact us.

This review is slanderous, unfair and unjust.

Outstanding service in all aspects

Our original movers cancelled with less than 24hrs notice. Reasonable Movers saved the day.

I cannot express how professional reasonable movers were throughout the day. The four gentlemen moving us worked tirelessly and ensured all our property arrived safely.

We would also say that the support from the office based staff member (Adam) was also first class with regular contact and prompt response to our contacts.

This was a very stressful time but Reasonable Removers made sure we moved safely and saved the day.

Very late move left us extremely stressed after a day of waiting

This is a review for a move that took place on June 29th 2021.

Packing day (28th) went smoothly.

Unfortunately moving day was not so great. We called for an ETA in the morning and were told 9am. By 10:30 we were told a van had broken down and another team would be out to us once they had finished another job. Due to waiting to offload they could not get to us.

Eventually, they got another company to come to us. However, they got to us around 6:30pm. The second company worked very hard and started offloading at our new property that is 6 minutes away around 9pm. They finished around 11pm.

We appreciate that our move did go ahead but unfortunately we were not made to feel confident of this on the day at all. It made for an extremely stressful experience, especially as we have two very young children to take care of, and had additional stress and anger from the estate agents and our own buyer.

We received a 20% discount from Reasonable movers for the inconvenience. However, the original price was around the £3k mark - a very high price for moving a small 3 bed house 6 minutes down the road. We now have our buyers expenses to pay. I had also hired a van myself when we found that we that we were unsure as to whether they would turn up, so have also absorbed that expense. Reasonable movers have said that the 20% discount takes into account any additional expenses we incurred.

2 stars given because we actually moved with help in the end but would prefer to give 0 for the actual stress caused on the day and the expense involved.

Vicky, Thank you for your feedback.

Firstly we apologise again for this rare event where a vehicle breaksdown which you can appreciate even with proper regular maintainence is unavoidable.

You paid for 2 3.5 tonne vehicles and 2 trips we did first of all compensate with a 7.5 tonne and 3.5 tonne to get the move done in less time.

The price which you suggest was high was due to the fact that you were moving on the 29th of June, over the stamp duty rush where there was no availability. If this was not the case and we were out of line with market pricing I am sure you would of booked elsewhere.

When discussed with your husband on the day he agreed that a £600 compensation was sufficient and paid the remaining balance minus the £600.

Subsequently, you returned 3 days later for whatever reason demanding further compensation which by any standards is not the correct procedure nor fair.

The only evidence of additional costs we were presented was a van you stated you hired for £78.80p far below the compensation given.

Again we take full accountability for our mistake and the issues on the day.

However, as you stated we not only completed the move but you also agreed on the day that compensation was satisfactory.

We wish you all the best in the future.
