The gentlemen who we dealt with at the desk, was wonderful. He was clear, concise and efficient, but also very friendly, with a lovely smile. The process was great too. But, the car we were upgrade... See more

I was charged for damage that was alredy present
I was charged for damage that was already present on the vehicle before my rental. Alamo’s own pre-rental inspection photos clearly show the dent they later tried to charge me for.
The inspection report was emailed to me but went to my spam folder, so I did not see it before driving. When I returned the car, I honestly mentioned the small dent and said I was unsure whether it had been there before. Despite having access to their own check-out photos, Alamo still charged A$ 5,200.00 from my card instead of verifying the pre-existing damage. Only after multiple emails and phone calls did Alamo finally review their own pre-rental inspection photos, realise their mistake, and refund the charge.
While the money was eventually returned, the process was unnecessarily stressful, time-consuming, and frustrating. This situation could have been avoided if the claim had been properly checked before charging my card.
Very disappointing experience.
Car a bit old
Car a bit old, window shaky and not air tight. Condition of car was dirty and smelly inside. Many scratches were not known to me and I had to take pictures and emailed you before i started driving. But the handling over was swift.
Great Car and hassle free registration!
Clean, Great Quality and Super Well Maintained Car!
VERY BAD SERVICE
Very poor service. Arrived at your branch at international airport at opx 730 am was unattended. We used the phone that was there to get a different airport with no help at all. We fianly found a number on our booking page and was told to go to the domestic terminal to get our car as there was no one on the counter at international.
The car we were in the end opx 930 am the car we were given was a disgrace don't no last time it was cleaned and the driver side floor had a hole in carpet with the metal floor showing. Over all a very poor rental for the price better to book a rent a dent

Love Red Spot
Excellent helpful staff, affordable high quality car, easy experience
Melbourne location mis-represented…
Melbourne location mis-represented their service and return options. They have issued 4 different charges on my credit card over the past 2 months. Buyer beware.
Horrendous Experience…
Absolutely awful check in experience and even worse drop off episode which was completely farcical. This rental was with Alamo in Perth International Airport (PIA). Despite completing full check in details online, the one agent at PIA took at least 30 mins to type in all the relevant details . If there was a queue it would have been a disaster. She then tried to explain the optional Insurance add ons which was impossible to understand plus extortionate so we just left it. As for the drop off at PIA Domestic Terminal, It was a complete shambles. First of all, we drove around the different car rental car parks for ages as there was no sign for Alamo so we entered a different rental companies car park as we didnt know what else to do. We asked the one member of staff where the Alamo drop off was and he rudely pointed in a direction towards another car park and demanded we leave the car park we were in. We did this and entered another car park and did eventually see the tiniest of signs Alamo/Redspot which you could not see from the road. Crazy. When we looked for a bay in the Alamo/Redspot section, there was nothing available. There was also not one single member of staff representing Alamo/Redspot so we approached a National Car Rental agent where we should leave the car. They were just pointing towards the Alamo section but we said we cant just dump the car there plus where do we leave keys. By the way, this was a very small tight car park, cars were just randomly parked everywhere. Eventually the National person said park it in their area parallel with other cars but then another person said you cant park it there as they had to get a car out and it was being blocked by our car as well as others. So we had to wait for 3 cars to be moved until I had to then reverse back in a tight line to park it where they insisted I leave it. We are now over 1 hour since we arrived and worried about missing flight. We asked agent what we should do with keys to which they didnt know answer so we had to call the Alamo customer service line which took a while to be connected and were told there was a key drop off box at Alamo desk in Terminal and we could place it there. How on earth we were supposed to know that?? This was all complete and thankfully we allowed sufficient time before our flight departure time otherwise we would have been struggling. That said, this debacle didnt allow us to enjoy the lounge facilities in terminal and we ended up rushing our breakfast and before we knew it our flight was called. All in all, without question, the absolute worst car rental experience I have ever had and I have rented cars for 40+ years all over the world. Alamo/Redspot , please treat this situation seriously as my description is 100% accurate of precisely what happened. You cannot allow customers to be treated like this especially at airports where things are time critical. We were fuming and honestly, still flabbergasted how you could let a situation like this happen. You need to take a long hard look at yourselves as a serious car rental company as this situation is completely unacceptable. Suffice to say, I would never use Alamo/Redspot in Australia ever again. In fact we used Avis in Brisbane and it was a pleasure.
Do not ever use Redspot if you actually need the vehicle
If you’re looking to hire a moving truck absolutely do not use Redspot rentals. I booked a 3.5T box truck in November for an interstate move in December. Arriving at the pickup location I was informed that there were no trucks available, but they would have one for the following day at a different location. That night I received an email that there would not actually be a 3.5T truck available but only a 1T truck. Trying to salvage the situation I agreed to a 1T truck and scrambled to arrange storage for my other items. After one hour of driving to the new location, with 20 minutes to arrival I received a phone call from the branch manager informing me that the commercial manager would not allow the 1T truck to be taken interstate. This has been the biggest waste of my time and money and caused incredible stress. Utter joke of a company.
Hobart Airport
Loved the easy access to making bookings, location at airport, helpful assistance.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! RENTED A CAR FROM THEM FROM MELBOURNE AIRPORT. LEFT AT 9.30AM, THE CAR BROKE DOWN 1 HOUR LATER AND I WASTED THE WHOLE DAY WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK AND HAVING TO RETURN TO THE DEPOT FROM WHICH I FINALLY LEFT AT 7.30PM. NO CREDIT, NO OFFER SWAP VEHICLE ON THE BROKEN DOWN LOCATION, NO NOTHING. 2 MONTHS LATER I AM STILL TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM AND AFTER 3 EMAILS AND 2 PHONE CALLS THERE IS NO SIGN OF LIFE FROM THEM. AND I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR THE DAY I COULD NOT USE THE CAR!!! WHO DOES BUSINESS LIKE THIS??? NEVER EVER EVER!!!!!! USE THIS PEOPLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
