Customer service and quality are a 5! I only have a 4 because I think they could improve their shipping timing communication. For instance, the accessories shipped first, which is fine but it kept me... See more

Initial interactions in November, with Redwood Outdoors were very positive. However, after making my purchase I received no information about shipping dates. After sending two unanswered emails I had to call Redwood Outdoors to get real time information about when my sauna would ship. Also, the floor for the sauna is on a 6-week back order, but I have received no updates about when it will be shipped. I’m 99% happy with the sauna (minor fitment issues), but “after the sale” communication could definitely use improvement.

My son in law was thrilled with the gift, especially the lovely bucket.

Poor Aftersales Support. I bought a cedar tub from them about 4 years ago. I decided to disassemble it to move to another property. I emailed and called them to get a copy of the installation manual to reassemble it, but they won't respond. Now, I need to figure out how to reassemble it without the manual. Very annoying.

Overall, great experience and excellent sauna and excellent choice. It was super simple to put together. 10 out of 10 would buy again.

Ongoing issues with the door fit. The door jamb is not well designed and is not moisture stable in an outdoor environment, so the door can’t always close. Door handle fell apart. The design of the heater crib is not structurally sound and requires modification to reliably hold the heavy heater. Good customer service, though. Replacement parts are sent promptly as they fail (door hinges, door handle).

Great communication!
I was very pleased with the responsiveness of their customer service. They answered all of my emails in a timely manner and I am greatly appreciative of that. They have great products and we use our sauna 4-5x wk.

Redwood outdoors worked with me to hold delivery until our new home construction is completed, their customer service is excellent!

Product is excellent. Customer Service Excellent. The only negative is that the amount of money and time to set it up was not disclosed. We had a full group working 2 days to set it up indoors and bring the proper 220v electric to the sauna. But during setup, we had some issues and customer service picked up quickly and put someone on the phone who knew a lot about the electronics. Rare and excellent

Disappointed in how much extra work and money we had to put into the sauna after paying 10k for it. There was basically no roof, certainly wasn’t insulated, shingles were ripped in several areas and no surface to nail them onto. Door was not sealed at all and couldn’t keep the sauna warm. Needless to say lots of trips to the hardware store to remedy these flaws.
Now when friends ask where we got the sauna from I tell them don’t get it unless you want to put a lot of extra effort into it. Anyone who assembled this or sat in it just once would have realized its short comings.
In the end - not impressed unfortunately

One of the hinges to my sauna glass door broke after a year, and the company immediately sent me new hinges, free of charge.

Delivery directly into my shop. No missing parts. Assembly was straight forward. I was short a few rocks for the heater, probably because I was so diligent in stacking them. I reached out to RO and they sent me another case of rocks! Once my electrician hooked it up its been working great. The app was a little glitchy at first but I had it working after an hour or so futsing with it.

I had some pretty simple questions after my sauna was delivered and it was a painful ordeal getting a single straight answer.

The heater arrived with a faulty micro switch, meaning the whole unit needed to be replaced. I understand that these things happen, but Harvia has been dragging their feet with getting the replacement sent. The process of getting a new heater is reaching two weeks with the unit not even being shipped yet.

It’s Legit. Well packed, well made, easy assembly. Extra parts in the box, just in case. Nice work. I’d buy again.

We recently moved and had to leave our original Redwood Outdoors sauna, so I bought a second for our new home. The reasons I bought one again:
- Excellent packaging. The crate was jostled significantly while being transported across a construction site and no damage was done to the components inside including the 6' windows.
- Quality of construction and instructions. All the pieces are well-labeled and easy to assemble. The change from convex beams to grooved will make for a better seal from wind, and the floor/roof panels versus individual planks made the construction much faster. The entire erection took around six hours by myself.
Disappointments based on my first sauna:
- Removal of components. The front porch, Huum Drop heater option, upper bench back rest, and lower fence are no longer included.
We are still waiting to power our new sauna, and cannot wait to get back in!

We went with the six person outdoor cube sauna. The installation went as advertised in the video, and we'd definitely recommend having two people available for some parts of it.
The sauna is sooo lovely - great material and quality and a wonderful experience. The harvia app is easy to use and I'm glad we upgraded to the largest heater with wifi. Its taking 30-40 minutes to go from 30 to 175, which is pretty great. The heater does turn off sometimes so we still need to figure out if it's overheating and why. Oh, and the hat is a game changer to tolerate the really high temps! Overall strongly recommend!

I ordered from Redwoods bc of a referral, and I was told the customer service was top notch. Unfortunately I didn't have the same experience. My impression is that the systems they have in place are not working for them as they grow as a company, and bad service is probably going to continue until they fix their overall processes.
Timeline:
- I first ordered the Garden Sauna on 8/11 and was told that there was a chance the wifi component to the heater I wanted (Virta 10.5 kW) was backordered. I ordered anyway
- They confirmed 8/12 that the component was in stock and I should expect delivery on 8/25. Based on this, I made plans with a contractor to build level ground among other things (like a deck; pics show that it was a big project)
- No contact until 8/21 when I reached out to them bc I didn't have shipping confirmation. I was told that they had a new system that messed them up and other people were ahead of me on the list for the wifi component. New ship date was supposed to be 9/23
- Had them ship the sauna structure separate bc of the work with the contractor, and was told on 8/26 that the sauna would ship 8/28
- No contact until 8/29 when I had to reach out and was told the whole operations team had COVID
- I had to reach out again on 9/3 and was told that the sauna structure still had not shipping. Finally shipped about a week later
- No contact about the wifi component until 9/26, and was told that there was a delay and new estimated shipping date was 10/19
- I was then told on 10/14 and 10/16 that the heater and component would ship out the next day, but that didn't happen. Was told 10/20 that if it didn't go out the previous week, it would go out 10/20 (it didn't)
- called 10/20 and was told it was scheduled for 10/23. The heater went out 10/23, but the rocks necessary to turn it on weren't shipped until 10/25.
So basically I was not prioritized and was given the run around so many times. I will say that every individual I talked to was very nice and tried to help, but they were just unable to. E.g., there was no way they could make sure my order went out other than to just write a note to the operations team (who clearly didn't care about that at all). Pretty terrible experience overall.
In terms of the quality of the sauna - it's pretty solid and decent for the price. I live in a cold climate and it takes forever for it to get to a high temp (170+) because there are a lot of leaks (to the point that I'm going to install a drop ceiling with insulation. I like how big it is though and it looks pretty dope with the big window (I added the lights in the pic).
I'm super glad it's working now and love that I have a sauna, but I wouldn't order from here if I were to do it again.

I have been very happy with my purchase- the sauna construction was a breeze and the quality of the unit is outstanding. I’m looking forward to many years of enjoying it along with the health benefits it provides
