Reel Paper poor customer experience

I was a longtime customer of Reel Paper’s recycled paper towels, but my experience with the company’s inventory and communication issues this year has caused me to lose trust in them.

In April 2026, I was charged for a recurring subscription shipment. By mid-May, the order still had not arrived, so I contacted the company. Only then was I informed that the product was out of stock and that there was no estimated date for new inventory. I canceled the order, received a refund, and canceled my subscription.

On July 8, I unexpectedly received a shipment notification for another order—one I had originally been charged for in March 2026 that the company had also been unable to fulfill. Although I received a refund after raising the issue, I am very disappointed by the lack of communication and the continued mishandling of these orders.

The company claims they sent communication, the appropriate thing to do would be to cancel all orders, while maintaining the subscriptions, restarting when inventory was in stock. Not holding money from multiple orders for months

Based on this experience, I will not trust Reel Paper with my business going forward.

I've used Reel toilet paper for 4 years - A+++++

I have used Reel toilet paper for about four years and have been extremely pleased with it. After the 2024 presidential election, I purchased four cases of 12 rolls in December 2025 because I believed Donald Trump's economic policies would lead to significantly higher prices over the following four years. I wanted to lock in today's price at that time to avoid paying more for the same product later. Looking back, that decision appears to have been a good one.

What surprised me most was how long Reel lasts. I dated the box when I opened it and discovered that I used only seven rolls in sixteen months. As a single man living alone, I realize my usage is lower than most households, but Reel is also much stronger and more absorbent than conventional toilet paper. It doesn't tear easily, creates virtually no paper dust, and requires fewer sheets per use than grocery store brands.

Each roll is individually wrapped in compostable paper, which keeps it clean in storage and makes it easy to share a roll with someone who wants to try it.

While Reel costs more upfront than most store brands, I have found it to be far more economical over time because the rolls last so much longer. In my experience, Reel is a superior product that outperforms every other toilet paper brand I have used.

Terrible customer service and charge fulfillment without delivering

Skipping one month with a subscription is excusable. Charging the next subscription and not having any news about the shipment two weeks later with no customer service reaching out is just unacceptable. They should at least not charge and charge on the shipping date. Impossible to get anyone human to write me or to contact an actual human. I’ll be getting my paper towel elsewhere

Inconvenient, embarrassing, and wasteful (otherwise OK)

Five-star TP, but I can’t stand that each roll comes individually wrapped, so overall it feels like a two-star product for me. I prefer the Reel paper to the “regular” stuff you get at the grocery store, but not having to unwrap each roll individual is more important to me so I’ll go back to regular grocery-store TP. (And this is supposed to be a more environmentally friendly alternative… Why do something as wasteful as wrapping each roll with more paper? I don’t care that it’s recyclable and compostable – it’s still wasteful. And according to their customer service, they wrap each roll individually because of “health and safety concerns as well as for transportation”. But I’m able to order normal TP online and get that delivered, and those rolls are not individually wrapped, so this makes zero sense to me.) I’m also kind of embarrassed to have individually wrapped rolls visible in our bath room when we have people over, so this feels like way more work and trouble than it’s worth. I’d definitely make the switch to Reel 100 % if they just stopped the individual wrapping. (And same with the paper towels, if only they sold them in packages of less than 12 – that’s like a 20-year supply of paper towels for our household.)

So in sum: my favorite TP but that doesn’t outweigh the inconvenience and embarrassment of having each roll individually wrapped. I won't buy it again.
