Very pretty! I actually already had the Imperial Arch stud in my helix, and wanted this one as a more ‘everyday appropriate’ option. I had always intended to buy both, and I kind of wish I had purchased them at the same time, or this one first, but I got a bit excited and didn’t think about practicality, haha I pierced my helix in mid April and immediately put in the Imperial Arch stud. It healed well, however it was a bit difficult to clean and was slightly less comfortable than this stud for everyday wear/sleeping. I bought this stud thinking I could just switch out the tops, however this top didn’t screw onto the backing of the other one properly. It technically stays on, but the thread doesn’t fully go in and sticks out a couple of millimetres. I assumed being from the same brand they would be compatible, but unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I had hoped. I changed out the Arch stud for this one (including the post) in early August, which ended up being a bad decision as it was way too early and wasn’t healed enough to do this. But this stud is definitely far better for cleaning and sleeping. When I switched them out there was actually a bit of gunk behind the Arch stud, despite my best efforts in trying to clean the piercing thoroughly. I wore/have been wearing these studs full time (Imperial Arch stud from mid April to early August, and this stud starting early August. It’s late August at the time of writing.) including in the shower and the gold colour is still the same as when I bought them so far. Regal Rose’s gold plating tends to be pretty sturdy in my experience, with my necklace chains being the quickest to wear down to silver. Anyway, just thought it was worth sharing my full experience with both of these studs, as (in my opinion) this stud would be a better option for an initial piercing stud, whereas the Imperial Arch stud would be better suited for a fully healed helix. They’re both gorgeous and I’m glad I have both, and am looking forward to when my piercing is fully healed so I can switch them out whenever I want :)
