The bus driver in Prague didn't let us take the bus saying he can deny us entry without a baby in the car seat. The bus ticket only mentions that it's recommended to have a car seat, not that it's u... See more

Worst ting ever, 18 hours insted of 7
Terrible! 18 hours to get from Budapest to Prauge. Should have taken 7… They sent us out of the train, and we were on our own to find trains and busses to prauge. They said that if we got to Breclav we could take any train, for free, into prauge. Ended up costing 70£
I'd do it again.
It's a slightly strange and retro experience, but overall, not bad, and great value for money. We went from Budapest Deli to Vienna and back in Business Class (the highest service level); departure from Budapest was on time, train was clean, and service was good onboard - due to an electrical issue there were no hot food items or hot beverages available.
On the way back two days later departure was an hour late due to issues on the track before the train arrived in Austria, which was beyond the control of the company. Service was again good onboard, and we enjoyed the excellent value menu of food and beverages. The AC was not working well on the return journey and our entire coach was quite warm.
Due to the delay, the train terminated at Kelenfold station (the first stop in Budapest) instead of continuing to Deli. Not an issue for us as we could easily get home from either, but I wonder what they did with the passengers waiting at Deli to board the train back to Vienna?
Value for money compared with other operators on the route (looking at you, OBB) is excellent; our return journey cost 70 Euros each; on OBB in Business class it would have been 3 times higher. Food and beverages onboard the train are unbelievably good value. Welcome bottle of water and choice of prosecco or juice is offered in business class on boarding.
Overall, I would do it again.
AC never works! Don't use RegioJet in the summer
I frequently travel on the Vienna-Budapest-Vienna line. The air conditioning never works on the RegioJet carriages. There is always a silly explanation, such as: "It's summer, miss," or "These are very old carriages," or "It was very cold in Prague when we started this morning." If it's 35°C outside, it can reach nearly 45-50°C inside, which can be damaging to your health! Especially the first class and the seats in carriages 5 and 6 are affected, but carriage 3 wasn't working either (even after they moved me from 6 to 3, which made no sense). This is not service in the 21st century; it's a shame they can even operate in summer!
Avoid them no matter what
I've travelled with RegioJet several times (5 times, specifically).
Almost every time they just changed the carriage arrangement, but alright, that's not big deal.
The second time (last year) they notified the train (Prague - Przemysl) would depart more than two hours earlier than it should (happily, I usually travel with a reasonable amount of time in advance just in case such unexpected things happen, but I'm sure not everyone could make it).
This time has been much worse. They sent me this message:
"Hello, for capacity reasons it was not possible to provide tickets for your connection 21.07.25 11:17 Kyjev, Hlavní nádraží → 21.07.25 19:50 Přemyšl, (IC 715). Please contact our hotline +420 222 222 221 to purchase an alternative service on another carrier or to cancel the entire ticket. We apologize for the complications. Regiojet"
I bought the tiket MORE THAN TWO MONTHS in advance. How can you tell me now you have no tickets for me? I called via the phone number they indicated and they were just unable to offer a minimal help or support. They have offered me no compensation, no "alternative service" nor "other carrier": they just said I can cancel the whole ticket (Kyiv-Przemysl + Przemysl-Prague) or the affected connection (Kyiv-Przemysl). That's all. I have now to search and book myself and at my own cost a night bus (because it's too late to get a train ticket) that goes for more than 12 hours to get in time to the next connection (Przemysl to Prague) not to miss the third and last one connection to get home (Prague to Madrid, by plane). Because they wouldn't compensate ANYTHING. They took the money and want no responsibility.
I will definitely do my best to get a compensation from them and never travel with them again.
I booked a trip to Prague and bought 3…
I booked a trip to Prague and bought 3 tickets. Only after I paid did I see a note stating that the driver would not allow us to travel with our baby without a car seat, which we did not have. I called the customer service and they said that this would probably be the case and that we cannot travel with the baby and that we can click to get a refund to our credit card.
I canceled the tickets, but instead of getting a refund to my card, I got the refund to their platform for future use. I have no use in your service!!! And of course that nobody replies to emails!!! What a way to steal people's money, and what awful customer service. I want my money back!
We took the RegioJet train from…Budapest
We took the RegioJet train from Budapest to Vienna for the first time, and honestly, we’ve never experienced such a comfortable, affordable, and pleasant train journey until now. We were offered free water and coffee, and we only paid €2.50 for two desserts and tea. The seats were spacious and comfortable, each with a screen and a wide selection of movies. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Dear Deutsche Bahn! take note, this is how service and care for passengers should be!
Huge congratulations and thanks to the founders of RegioJet. We truly appreciate what you’ve created and hope you keep up the amazing work.
RegioJet Is Absolutely Awful
RegioJet Is Absolutely Awful – Never Again
I’ve traveled with RegioJet multiple times (Vienna to Budapest, Vienna to Prague), and each time was worse than the last. Most recently, they changed my seat at the very last minute, claiming the AC in my coach wasn’t working. So they downgraded me to a lower class car … and guess what? The AC wasn’t working there either! So what was the point of moving me?
To make things even more infuriating, they split me up from my spouse and put us in completely different seats. We booked together and paid to sit together how is this acceptable?
To make it even worse, instead of giving me a proper refund to my credit card, they just refunded the price difference into the app. Why would I want RegioJet credit when I’m traveling once and never using this company again? It’s a scammy move to keep your money.
And the service? Absolutely disgraceful. I tried to order something and called the stewardess, and she rudely told me to wait. Then she disappeared and only came back an hour and a half later to take my order. Seriously? This is how you treat paying customers?
Unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful. RegioJet is hands down one of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with. Avoid it like the plague.
Wanted us to move but couldn’t explain why!
A month ago I booked RegioJet to take my husband and I from Brno to Prague yesterday . We paid for 1st class. When the attendant came and scanned our tickets, she said we had been moved, but we would get refunded the difference. I didn’t want compensation plus they couldn’t tell me why we had to move. I checked my emails and I’d received one the previous night to say we were being moved as the a/c in our carriage wasn’t working (it was!!) and we had been booked into carriage 1 (cheapest seats) and 50 seats apart. We were not happy, as there was another person in the carriage who wasn’t being told to move. And at least 1 or 2 in all the other first class carriages. The supervisor came, and she couldn’t explain why we still had to move either, but kept saying we had to do it. Hard to understand, especially as the other person hadn’t to go, and there was no one waiting to take our seats, as it was a direct journey to the main station. In the end I explained it was our 30th wedding anniversary (true) and we really did not want to move. Supervisor took a photo of my ticket, and eventually after half an hour, sent a young girl back to say we could stay. Very disappointed w the service. Won’t be using them again. Also, we had 5 mins to get to the platform as they were very slow in putting the platform details on the board, and no one at desk could tell us in advance!
They cancelled first class tickets and…
They cancelled first class tickets and allocated new seats to the lowest class. Even though first class was mostly empty. No refund because the tickets were not purchased through their website. Scam scam scam!
Never again
Never again!
We booked sweeping places for a night train one month ago. On the day of departure we got an email that our places have been changed to seating places. The waggon we originally should go with was on the train but the doors shut.. The personell of the train didn't open even after long discussion. Really horrible service!
Better than MÁV
Really cheap, really polite attendants and of course free water. The trains are fast and comfy, definetly 5 stars
The worst service
The worst service, they don’t update you about the delays, dont care about the follow-ups trains and they don’t even bother to help you via customer service. Not worth the money.
Hands down the worst option out there
Hands down the worst option out there. Their trains are almost always delayed and if you won't buy the ticket through their app they won't refund your money. The will give you Regiojet credits to force you to use their terrible app and you'll get in the same situation next time. Honestly just a terrible, scammy company.
RegioJet Endangers Children, Violates EU Law, and Ignores Its Own Policies
I traveled internationally with a 9-year-old and paid RegioJet for two adjacent, premium seats. Instead, we were separated and downgraded. Forcing a child to sit alone on a crowded international train is not only dangerous — it’s outright negligent.
Their own policy clearly states that children under 10 cannot travel alone internationally. Yet when I raised this, I was told they “don’t publish such rules” — completely ignoring their own terms. Staff refused an incident report (which I’m entitled to), and left us with no safe option.
Customer service agent Zdenka Čiaková dismissed all concerns with cold, scripted replies. When I escalated to COO Jiří Jahelka, I received no response at all.
RegioJet doesn’t just break the rules — they don’t give a damn about child safety, EU regulations, or their own policies. If you care about responsible travel, never trust this company — especially with children.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience – avoid this company at all costs!
The service is extremely misleading. Their website claims that small animals are allowed on board, but only if you dig through the fine print do you discover that this applies only to specific routes. This feels deliberately vague, almost like a scam, designed to appear accommodating while hiding restrictive policies.
Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way. I was able to travel with my small bird—from Berlin to Prague—without issue. The bird was in a proper travel bag, covered, calm, and sleeping. But once in Prague, I was suddenly and aggressively denied boarding.
The staff didn’t speak a single word of English, showed no willingness to listen or understand the situation, and refused to check anything. Instead, they left me stranded alone at midnight at the Prague bus station. No assistance, no explanation—just cold dismissal.
This was by far the worst travel experience I've ever had. I will never use this service again, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious. Deceptive policies and unacceptable treatment of passengers.
I suggest some super simple fixes:
I suggest some super simple fixes:
I propose all modes of transport have a great weakness. Bikes require constant maintenance; driving incurs significant invisible costs. Whenever I travel by train, meanwhile I accept some risk of substantial delays or cancellations. Today was one such unlucky day; RegioJet suffered a four-hour delay.
But that's not the reason for my review. There will always be some probability of delay (unless, perhaps, everyone used public transport?).
What RegioJet really needed, however, was proper communication of this delay. An email alerted me to a 240-minute delay, and a second, 100 minutes later, a second claimed the delay was 140 minutes. With no obvious way to check online, I assumed that meant the delay was 'proceeding to plan'.
Consequently, I returned to the station 220 minutes after the time on my ticket. Since the station staff were all MAV, a separate company, who couldn't really help, RegioJet had a responsibility to tell me which platform the delayed train would arrive at. Did they? Not a chance.
More importantly, RegioJet also failed to alert me to the fact their delay had actually shrunk from 240 minutes to 180 - and as a result I'd missed my train entirely!
I award two stars instead of one because customer service said they'd happily refund this ticket.
Again in my experience even four-hour delays are annoying but inevitable. All I ask is that in future you attach a link to some sort of delay tracker on the email you send claiming your trains are 240 minutes late. And to tell me whether or not the platform will change.
Edit: my refund never arrived. Customer service lied. Downgrading to one star.
Excellent client service
Excellent client service. First I bought an incorrect ticket, I contacted them by chat and the attention was immediate and super nice. Then I left my jacket on the bus, I called and they found and returned my jacket.
Immediate client service and fast problem solving
Good trip from Vienna Meidling to Deli…
Good trip from Vienna Meidling to Deli Budapest.
We're from the UK and were worried about the journey after reading negative reviews. We paid a little extra for business class and it was worth it. Carriage was comfy and spacious, staff regularly checking in to see if you wanted anything. Prices for food and drinks were cheap. Train arrived on time and was only slightly late arriving at Deli. The only thing that let it down a little was the cleanliness. There was leftover food on a plate when we got to our carriage, and when we tried to order more beers with just over an hour left of our journey, we were told we couldn't order any more as they had to clean the train but the bins were full in our carriage when we started the journey and were never emptied. The boards when you get to the station show which platform you need to go to, although it only came up 7 minutes before the train arrived not leaving a great deal of time to get to the platform. Overall though our experience was positive and we would use again.
Customer services do not exist
Customer services do not exist. They either do not reply or their answer is nonsense. I really do not get why the style and attitude in 2025 is still like in the socialist era. Not much has changed in that part of the world.
Very cheap prices
Very cheap prices. Not luxurious, but for the price OK.
