Vienna to Budapest

The train trip was from Vienna to Budapest. Firstly, there is nowhere to store larger suitcases except for overhead racks and these are too small for large or heavy cases not to mention dangerous. On our business class seats, there were half drunk drink bottles and food wrappers as well as used tissues. Th airconditioning was not overly effective and it was stifling. I went to the toilet and the door handle came off in my hand. On the up side, there were sockets next to every seat and wifi. Seats were large and comfortable. The lower score was due to the rubbish everywhere in this business class carriage.

Horrendous experience

Horrendous experience. No AC - brutally hot - and periodically air so foul smelling it could make you vomit came out of the vents (smelled like the worst dump you have ever smelled - I suspect toilet system is somehow infiltrating the vents). This train is a health hazard. Staff was rude on top of this. I don’t know how the management sleeps at night.

Unbelievably hot and no air…

Unbelievably hot and no air conditioning at all. Made two journeys and each were as bad as each other. Staff only gave a very small bottle of water which was not enough for the heat. Seriously barely survived!

Don't be fooled by the low cost - it's not cheap if the train never arrives

train from vienna to budapest and vice versa cancelled without warning. On the return leg we only knew it was cancelled because some other poor soul was also travelling with them and he had been notified. Nobody in any of the major European train stations works for them (there are no ticket offices or info desks for Regio Jet) so there is nobody on hand to help if you face a cancellation. We ended up paying 3 times the price for each journey after many hours of being stuck in the station and we are now having to struggle through the refund process. Just bite the bullet and pay a bit extra with a reputable company, or just buy on the day - Regio Jet is false economy in the extreme.

From Berlin to Prague by the RegioJet buses!

I travelled by RegioJet coach two times (in the 2023 and 2024 summer) on the Prague-Berlin route and had an extremely positive experience. They provided efficient service and great comfort - spacious seats, onboard display with WiFi and entertainment options, as well as a coffee vending machine. They'd be my first choice whenever it comes to bus journeys in the area.

Extremely bad experience

Extremely bad experience. Absolutely unpolite bus drivers. Cultural level zero. In poor countries any people are much better as contact in this very strange czech - Slovak bus company. I don't know where thay have find this drivers because they looked as didn't finished basic school. Normally this kind of people are in arrest. IQ minus 1.000. Or may be they employ mafians. I don't know. But very early bankruptcy of this company probably will come.

Once in lifetime experience, because there won’t be next time.

Going with one star forcefully! If I have an option to provide negative score, I would have preferred.

We had this horrible experience on trip to Prague from Vienna. For the entire trip air-condition didn’t work properly. It was like sitting in sauna for 4 hours. Never expected the seats to be so uncomfortable in first-class. 0 cleanliness in the coach, there were left over food on our seats when we boarded.

I would never want to repeat another journey with Regiojet

Why is it not possible to give zero stars?

Waiting for one and a half hour only to find out the train was cancelled. Way too late to look for other transportation to get from vienna to Budapest on a day-trip, so the reserved return ticket was also useless. Money gone, day ruined, never again railjet.

If I could leave 0 stars for this company I would! And that’s only because of the staff !
It’s my fifth time travelling with them and every single time I’m amazed on how more rude the staff can be. Disgusting behaviour.

Cancelled train and no intention to help

Traveling from Budapest to Vienna our RegioJet was cancelled. We had a connection in Vienna to bring us home and urgently needed to get back. Cancellations happen, no biggie, but on the phone with RegioJet they refused to help. No other trains or bus connections presented to us by them, and no person at the station working for RegioJet who could help us. The general service desk at the station couldn't help us either since RegioJet doesn't go through them. Effectively leaving us stranded in a country where we couldn't even read the signposting as it was all obviously in Hungarian. Honestly shocking the lack of interest in helping us find a solution... Ended up having to pay triple to get a last minute train through another company where we had to sit on the floor for hours but could get us back in time.

Regio Jet trains

Regio Jet trains - a cheap mode of transport (for medium-length distances)

The train ride was comfortable with nice and clean seats, however my experience had a number of other problems.

Firstly, the Air Conditioning was inconsistent. Whether done on purpose, or by faulty tech, the air conditioning was constantly switching on and off - at one point even leaving us drenched in sweat after a 30-40 minute pause.

On top of that, as it was a long train ride, we ordered some food. The service was poor and not helpful at all, and we had to resort to the hard to navigate mobile application. After a 10 minute wait (mind you, the food is premade), we managed to get ahold of a employee to ask about the order. We were told we would wait for up to ONE HOUR.

To sum up, the train ride was just “okay”. It is nothing to write home about and certainly not to be looking forward to. The faulty air conditioning and terrible customer service give reason to a cheap and clean train ride. 2/5; Buy on a budget.

I travelled from Prague to Vienna for 4 hours and the air conditioning was not working at all!!! Everyone was making some fans with the papers they had because it was too damn hot! Due to the heat, I felt like vomiting so it was the worst 4 hour train ever!

Best train ride!

I have used regiojet three times the last two weeks to travel from Berlin-Prague, Prague-Vienna and Ostrava-Krakow. I had such good experiences on all of them. Prague to Vienna was by train and it was the best train ride I have ever had. The food and drinks on board was so cheap and quite tasty as well. The other two journeys were buses but they were also very nice.
